I wouldn't be angry.
But it would be a little...disheartening. Like "Can I not compete with the telly?" It would have hurt my feelings more than made me mad.
On the other side, however, sometimes if it is taking a long time, and we have started, and the television was on the whole while, and it is just taking forever for things to finish up with him, I will let my eyes wander, but mostly I like to listen when I am not looking for signs of enjoyment. I think the reason it takes so long for him when the TV is on, is because he is getting distracted too.
But no matter what, the distraction factor is there.
