Absolutely. I know some very charming men who have women doing all sorts of nice things for them. That is why I say it is about charm. If if is fake charm, it will eventually exposed, but authentic charm will last.

Really? Funny, I read about this all the time, but when I think of the amazing men I have close to me in my life, none of this meet this definition. I'm talking about healthy, heterosexual, good looking, successful, intelligent men who have high standards and would not fuck just anything in sight.

Aren't we all ruled by our hormones and genes? Some male spiders risk and often become victims of cannibalization a la mating. While it could be said it is their need to replicate their genes that is really at play, it still doesn't mean she isn't making a tasty after-sex snack of him.

The attractive always has power over the attracted. The trouble is, the attractive is often repulsed by what it attracted.

So what seems like power to a man (I can't stop thinking about her) might feel more like a curse to a woman (why can't these creeps leave me alone.)

Those men you have allowed within your periphery are of a caliber that I suspect is far more widespread than is generally perceived and all too often misperceived. A dashing charismatic man invests endless hours working on his mind and body, seeks out challenge and views diversity as opportunity. He simply does not have the time to waste on frivolous encounters.

What's the difference? I can be intensely charming to people I absolutely despise (I learnt from my mother). The fact that I don't mean it doesn't make me any less charming.

The verb 'to charm' is transitive-it requires an object. What makes charm effective or ineffective is the effect it has on the object-not the 'authenticity' of the source.

That power is so real. Many women don't realize what they have. And I have noticed that some can't wait to give away that power. They are uncomfortable wielding it. The women who recognize and consciously use that power are the best dommes. They enjoy the fact that men's desire for women makes us weak.

The difference is in the statement you quoted. I agree on the surface it can all be the same—though some of us have better bullshit detectors than others, my boss being one of the best I've ever seen—and in a short encounter, the one being charmed may very well never know the difference. However, if you spend enough time around someone who uses fake charm, there are good chances that the falseness becomes exposed and obvious.

Authentic charm however only gains mileage. I like our associates that I deal with every day and I don't use fake charm with any of them. The charm I use is not flirty, but it is authentic. My reputation for being someone incredibly pleasant to deal with precedes me.

I've seen people use fake charm—and be good at it initially— and over two years, people start seeing through the crack and start considering them two-faced and hypocrites.

I can see what you're saying, but I'm not sure I agree with you. I've watched my mum and my grandma function for years, and I've rarely seen either of them caught out.

I think the difference can be in mindset.

If I want to, I can create a mindset within myself to be utterly delightful company to people I don't much care for at all. Considering I don't really like very many people, it's become second nature.
