Atheists don't need imagination therefore they don't seem to have much.

Other than that they are jolly nice people.

(Did God ultimately create the I-Phone? I don't know I've never considered this question. Through observation all we can tell is that the I-Phone exists.)

Atheists have plenty of imagination, they just don't imagine a God like those that feel they must.

How on earth do you come to that conclusion?!

Judaism is passed on through the maternal line, for a start, and I'm fairly sure some other religions do the same thing.

And just because someone's parent(s) is/are atheist doesn't preclude their offspring from adopting one of several religions. In fact I’m struggling to think of a single religion that excludes people on the basis of lineage. Religions always want more followers, see. I seem to recall that Shinto requires that at least one parent be able to trace their lineage in a Shinto fashion, but Wikipedia doesn't seem to back that up, so I may have got that one wrong.

Personally I'm an agnostic, and don't have any time for sky-fairies, but I have no objection to the beliefs of others, so long as they don't threaten my safety or security.

Having said that, threads like this always end up as a series of "is not!", "are too!" statements, so god alone knows* why people bother.

*do you see what I did there?

I doubt you've met the majority of them, but that's some awfully nice stereotyping nonetheless.

Well said Stef.

Stereotype much?

So its ok to stereotype religious people, and in that prejudicial stereotype, you consider that funny.

Good to know.

Yup, that's it exactly, almost word for word! A nice, thorough, careful reading. Well done! Like reading my mind.

And there, ladies and gentlemen, we have the problem with this kind of "religious vs. non-religious" thread; it always degenerates into farcical grumpiness.

On both sides

Im not grumpy... its sunday... instead of going to church, as a "good religious person" should (according to some who have no clue) i stayed in bed with Master and we fucked like rabbits... got up to a nice breakfast.. and im getting ready to go to work where i will enjoy a great deal of human interaction.

Isnt it funny how one person can fuck up someone else's delusions of grandeur?

to put it nicely, the majority of them are annoying and I do my best to not get involved with them in any way possible.

I doubt you've met the majority of them, but that's some awfully nice stereotyping nonetheless.

The op asked about what we thought of atheists. That's what i think of the majority. It's been my vast experience and yes I talk about religion with almost everyone I try to befriend at one time or another and almost every atheist I have ever met is angry, bitter, jaded and seem to be extremely argumentative about everything and that minute I state that I believe in God they have to find a way to denigrate my beliefs instead of just shrugging it off and dropping it like I do when they state they are atheists. I tend to just walk away while they want to continue to tease and make fun of me. They're simply not the type of people I want to be around.

If the op didn't want to know our thoughts on what we think of them then the op shouldn't ask. If others don't like my views they're more than welcome to pass me by. Shrug.

Why would you bring up religion with every person you meet?

I never said every person I meet. I said every person I want to befriend. Big huge difference. I bring it up because those who are my friends usually share many of the same belief systems that I do and if they don't I find we clash in personalities. My religion plays a part in every single part of my life. It IS my life. I tend to be drawn to people who feel the same way.

I see.

So you are not open to anyone who does not believe exactly as you do?
