I went on birth control to control my issues ... it works, mostly.  I was getting violently ill for 2-3 days a month; totally incapacitated me every month.  I was having moodswings to rival Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

On birth control, my moodswings are minimal, my cramping is easily controlled by tylenol or aleve, and I can actually eat semi-normal food.

YOU LUCKY DUCK!!!! over in a few days?  this slave only wishes she could be that lucky..

Long bouts of sleeping
soaking wet sheets, pillows, hair and body
swollen, painful breasts and underarms
nausea, vomiting
crying at all commercials, even ones advertising automotive products

high sex drive with more natural lubrication than necessary

symptoms occasionally present:
migraine headaches

how does it affect our relationship? Hmmmm...Master does as He wishes with His slave in spite of any of the symptoms...this slave might have to excuse herself to go puke in a proper place if she is feeling nausea, but it doesn't get in the way of this slave's service.  added bonus: there are no "off days" since Master isn't into blood play!!!

Wow you have my sympathy, and thank you for sharing. Master and Mistress both swear i am the only person they know who pukes the whole time, not to mention the sleeping and hot/sweating thing. The first time they saw my window open during a snowstorm they kept waking me up, ouch, they swear they will not do that again.

But as soon as the bleeding starts all the problems disappear, and i am done with that in three days too. Master does not care for blood play either but at least then i am usable in other ways.

We tried me being out during pms one time, it really is better for me to just sleep we all agreed.

I had a hysterectomy years ago,but did maintain one ovary for hormone balance..however..I am suspecting that I may be going through menopause..(difficult to tell without periods)..but occasional hot flashes and recently weird mood swings..generally even tempered..but recently, within space of 15 seconds I had gotten into someones face and warned them to back off,and moments later burst into tears..put myself back together then started into a fit of laughter..So move over Jekyll/Hyde...make way for Terrifying/Tempting..

I was having a lot of trouble for a time. I had more than one cycle a month, I went through a depression and panic attacks too,... and this was hormonal so it got worse at certain times of the month.

I can tell you what I did to overcome it. I got a special IUD that solved having more than one period a month. I quit smoking, I started eating better, and I exercise almost daily and pretty rigorous exercise too. I think that exercise keeps me feeling good, and I lost a lot of weight just taking care of myself.

If you are having troubles I would look at your lifestyle (and not BDSM either...lol) and see what you can do to feel better... there may be things you can change,... Or just have some chocolate...smiles

~using fast reply~

I can't be on any hormone therapy because of some medical issues I had when I was on them before.

This means periods that last 5-8 days, and the first two days are hell.  A few days leading up to it, my breasts are painful to the touch (Master loves that...and he says he is not a sadist...pffft).  And the bloating sucks.  And I become the spawn of Satan if  I can't have chocolate.

The first 1 or 2 days of period, I am in so much pain I sometimes call in sick for work.  Like twicehappy and beth, I might also vomit. I get so hot my AC is set to create icicles.

I tried everything.  Did a complete detox diet for a year - no sugar, no preservatives, colorings, flavorings, etc.  I exercised.  I lost weight.  Didn't make one bit of difference for me.  I tried herbs.  I read that Don Quai was great for PMS.  It turned me into Satan himself.  So much for that.

Now I just deal with it.  Midol is my friend.  I have learned to recognize and control mood swings.  And like beth mentioned, if Master beckons and wants to use me, he will use me, however he wishes.  I just forewarn him that I'm loopy from a lot of Midol.  The Midol sometimes effects the intensity of orgasm, but I would suspect cramps that feel like my uterus is trying to come out would effect an orgasm more.  Sometimes hard usage will cause me to flow too much and then I have a mess to clean up, but I'd still rather be used than not.

Well when I was younger the bloating got me bad, cramps, huge blood clots , headache and grouchiness. PMS eh it wasnt that bad. Now that I'm over 35 I don't have the phyiscal symptoms bad but the PMS is rampant!
I get sooo evil and short tempered, I'm grouchy, I'm mentally drained, I get emotional quickly (which isnt me at all until my period time rolls around)  Its just crazy. I hate it. Im looking forward to menopause.

Sounds like you may be, but menopause is years away for me, even though i am 44 the women in my family never start menopause until mid sixties. My granny gave birth to my mother at 51 years of age.

Not my lifestyle either, i get lots of exercise, am not overweight, etc, it is only high hormones. I do not take the pill i am fixed, so it is not that either. I think it is just hereditary, almost all the women in my family go through the same thing.

I get a little insane/bitchy during PMS, which is roughly a week before the bleeding starts.  About two days before the bleeding is when the cramps start up.  They can be mild to moderately severe.  Bleeding is always heaviest the first day or two.  My lower back will feel like dry timber about to snap in two both before and during my period.  My breasts get painful during the PMS time and stay that way during my period.

I have discovered that if I drink plenty of water and exercise regularly, the symptoms lighten up considerably and my period shortens.

As for the Depo shots -- not on your life!  I tried that for 6 months and bled for 6 months.  It was horrible.  Birth control pills kept me regular as far as when my period would come, but they pretty much torpedoed my libido.  I wasn't interested in sex at all.  So now I'm off of birth control all together and letting my hormones sort themselves out (including the lightly higher level of testosterone, which is probably why I'm horny when not on bc).  My hubby is going to get fixed so we won't have to worry about offspring, as we don't intend to breed.

Doesent it seem our periods is the greatest thing to talk about somehow saying out loud where others can undertand that you feel like ripping your own organs out for a week makes you feel so much better.

But on my side i go along with those who have horrible periods and pms.  I have the sensitve breasts, crazy bowels, vomiting, cramps and blood clots like you wouldnt imagine.  And belive me if you get on my bad side then i will take you down hehehe and thats not a thing you often see from a 4'9 sub do. but it doesnt help the matter that i usually only have a period once every 3 months.  I know mine comes from my hormone inbalance which is a lack of progestin but going on hormones litterally makes me break down to not being able to funcion at all emotionally for a month to two months so i grin and bear it as long as im going once every 3 months the doc says im okay and that works for me.  by the way i find alleve or the likes is the best its a muscle relaxor better then tylenol which is a blood thinner hehehe not the best ideal.

Wow that is a scary thought, reproducing at 51 and running around after a 2yo at 53.

As to PMS, I get a little hypersensitive (physically with breasts and emotionally, which is tough because I already am fairly sensitive, lol) around my ovulation time, than do a pretty good imitation of BitchGoddess for 2-3days before my period, than I'm fine, on a very regular schedule every month.    M

i too have some mean PMS, i think i take after mom.  my mother needed to be on vaginal suppositories years ago to curb her moods, i refuse to do this however.

i am very emotional, and can get pretty ugly, but once i realize that its PMS i am normally able to curb those modds better...For example i will be moody for a day or two and something inside me will click that says oh its about that time, then i can rationalize a bit better.

He is very supportive during this, sometimes i get that look but unless i really go off the deep end He tends to just let nature take care of it.

I know I get even more so bitchy about a week before hand. The cravings are normally two things, combo's [nacho flavor] and cream soda. Mood swings? I try to keep it away from everyone because I can be watching a commercial and break down or go from that to swearing up a storm. Forget about sex [that was the week before] but I'm one that is like just cuddle me.
My Dr. tried putting me on birth control to help with a few problems and I found it didn't work at all.

I have crazy unpredictable periods. I have this weird schedule. They tried to put me on birth control to even it out,but it made things even worse and gave me these horrible migraines. So basically I have a period every two months. Sometimes sooner somtimes later and it's hard for me to know when it's coming other than I get extremely irritated and annoyed with everything and everyone and I am so evil.

Didn't have time to read the replies, but are you on a birth control pill?

I had PMS that could have rivalled yours, and after about 4 to 6 months of being on the pill, I now get very mild PMS and it even took my periods from 10 to 14 days of bleeding down to a "normal" 5 to 7 days, pretty dramatic differences.  I know there are a lot of women who feel worse on the pill, so this may not work for you, but for some it does balance things out...may be worth a try if you both can and want to take it.

Best luck, I feel your pain

I actually get really bad PMS too.  I get cranky, irritable, snappy, tired, and I will cry at the drop of a hat.  The children steer clear of me, and poor Master, He just does the best he can do!!  Well finally it just got so bad I went to the doctor.  They have actually made a medical diagnosis for PMS now.  Before the docs just used to say it was a head thing, but now PMS is  true medical condition.  Anyway, it is treated with Prozac!!  I was rather surprised when my doc told me this, but I decided to give it a shot.  The Prozac is taken 2 weeks a month from the start of ovulation till the last day of your period.  It is amazing, my PMS is virtually gone!  The whole family was jumping for joy!!!  I am no longer cranky or emotional, and I don't want to kill anything that walks!  Thank God for Prozac!!

I become wildly emotional, I'll go from laughing, to completely bitchy to crying in 0.6 seconds.  I have migraines, I have back pain, I get constipated and I am generally unpleasant.  It was once suggested to me that I include a lot of seedy fruits and vegetables in my diet...and you know, it really seems to help.  Strawberries, canteloupe, watermelon, cucumbers, squash...anything with a lot of seeds.

Personally i have been told i resemble Linda Blair in the Exorcist split pea soup and all.

I'm not a lady but I'm going to put in my 2 cents anyway.  I was married to a woman that I really loved.  I knew every first of the month we were going to be in an arguement due to her PMS.  The other 3 weeks would be ok.

One time I was going to work, I kissed her good-bye and told her how much I loved her.  She did the same to me.  I hadn't talked to her all day, went home after work and the second I hit the door she started.  I thought what the hell is going on?  I mean what could have happened from this morning when we loved each other and kissed and etc until now?  Guess what?  Dear old PMS is what happened.  Talking about Linda Blair! LOL

My sub now also gets PMS pretty bad sometimes but not near as bad as my ex.

As I find a partner at the time of her most feminine power during her Goddess flow, I have always much enjoyed sharing all intimacies during those times. Naturally there are submissive and domme potential partners for whom any connection during their period is a limit. I respect all limits.
It has been particularly interesting to have a dom partner go into sharing this with the intent of deeply humiliating me. That can not happen with sharing I like this much. Of course safety is a major concern, safe fluid bonding is necessary to share these fluids.
At times a submissive partner has consented to share her flow time just to please me, only to find that she had wild exciting orgasms when Auntie Flo was visiting, and the chore became a joy.

Im like clockwork, as soon as the heavy cramping is gone, i beg for sex. luckily, i get it.

i might need to take this to a new thread, but how do you feel about that, begging for sex?   i get the impression that most subs find that appealing, but i HATE myself for doing it.  Nothing in my life has ever shamed me as much as begging for sex.  Happened to me just this week, and i've been wanting to ask about it, but don't even like bringing it up.  i felt like some desparate animal. lol.  begging is not a good thing for me, but i'd easier beg for ciggarettes or... or  ANYthing!

Where would be the appropriate  forum to post it even? since the need is related to hormones, it should stay with health n safety, but then, since it deals with wider issues of control and mindset..  suggestions?

Crampy, moody, my temper tantrums increase...I cry at the drop of a hat...I want ICE CREAM...mood swings....(Feel like Linda Blair on the mood swings, and worry that I'll start speaking in some strange language and spinning my head around or making furniture move!)
