As I have aged, the process has taken a turn. It's milder and easier to deal with. I crave carbohydrates and all forms of junk, which I try to limit (sometimes to no avail), usually wind up weepy (which Daddy tolerates well and gives me extra affection), and I feel physically wiped out, the same sort of exhausted body feeling I had when newly pregnant. Fortuantely, the mood swings have tapered off - no more evil me - and the hormone migraines show up far less often.

An extra hour to two hours of sleep always helps me more than anything else. I tend to stay to myself more during those times with quiet activities like reading a book or surfing the web.

My period can be hell. I have strong resistance to pain, especially dull pain, but my first menstrual day can put me to bed, curled, under a dose of painkillers and whinining like a little puppy. No joking.
The doctor has no idea why, it started after I started my relationship with my lesbian girl and came off the pill, because I did not need it anymore. Seems like some bad damage was done to my organism during taking the hormones. It lasts for like a year and I swear I sometimes wish I was a man.

I can be cranky, very very tired but also can get into very wicked moods, which my subs half fear, half love, hehe.

Wow that is a scary thought, reproducing at 51 and running around after a 2yo at 53.

An absolutely horrible thought though to my granny it was normal; Why do you think we are so happy Scooter and i are both fixed?

Yeah I got on the pill earlier this month and ended up realizing I now have near constant cramping, similar to menstral cramps. Yay..... I really hope it doesn't cause any damage if the hormones could really tear something up.

thank you SO much, i forgot all about that. I have some liquid drops that are immensily helpful.
I think i'm also going thru perimenopause. i get a week of OMG bitchyness, depression, insecurity, sleep, etc.
didn't help to have Top drop and a subby hubby that left for 2 weeks either.
but the good thing is i get a serious day of cramps and thats about it. 1,2 days of spotting and i'm done. yeah!
though not looking forward to menopause!
yeah to those Kegel exercises to keep everything all toned up. sure helps, i really need to say. and sooo easy to do.

My biggest symptom is sleeping the full 24 hour period before I start about once a year I get cramps that have me in bed for a day or so. The other 11 months ... Pain says I'm actually nicer and much easier to deal with then. To bad it only lasts a couple days.

After I ovulate, the two weeks before my period starts, my breasts become more and more sensitive, to the point where it hurts to lay down on my stomach at night.

LA, I can relate to this when it comes to breast tenderness, I am on birth control which makes them very sensitive and swollen past the second week.

I used to drink a lot of diet sodas and believe they are the cause of swelling but have switched to drinking water.

I get a little moody and weepy but this is less frequent then when I was a teenager.

My cycle goes something like this:
Ovulation - cramping and a backache, sometimes a migraine, and moodiness which is generally more weepy than anything. Generally I can keep from biting people's heads off.  I tend to crave sweets.  Lasts about 3 days.
Pre - Moodiness increases to the point where I become a banshee on my GOOD days.  Generally no migraines here, but moodiness now includes crabbiness and I start to get far more tired, in part because the insomnia revs up more. Horniness reaches critical mass. Tends to be the time I clean hardest and most. I tend to crave sweets and salty foods. Always start to bloat.  I generally feel very fatigued. Lasts about a week.
During bleeding - My back gets so bad that I literally can't walk without help, sometimes I can only crawl. Horniness subsides a bit, but bitchiness stays close.  Usually no migraines, but plenty of nausea. Gain about 10 pounds water weight.  My activities are generally limited to anything I can do sitting down on my heated chair with a heating pad pressed to my stomach, or laying down wishing I could sleep. I tend to crave junk food of all sorts. Towards the end I tend to get more nesting behavior, and clean a bit more. Lasts about 9 days.
Post - Most everything subsides fairly well, and everybody gets a bit of a break. The cravings ease, and I can eat a bit healthier without feeling deprived.  Yay, salad! Migraines more often. Best time to get an accurate weight on me. Much easier to do the chores and cleaning here. Lasts about 5 days.

Yeah, a 24 day cycle, and only five days or so are ever good for me out of it.  Doctors have prescribed narcotics and Valium for me, on top of the Atarax I already take (for itching, but it's a tranquilizer).  And now, I've had my thyroid tested, because in addition to all the menstrual symptoms, I've been having other issues, and hypothyroid could be the cause.  I hate waiting for test results.

As far as how it's handled, it really depends on what is going on with everybody else. We've had a LOT of stress here over the past two years, and The Mate is disabled, so he often can't do much to help me, other than try to be understanding.  At least he can relate to the hurting part, which I really wish he couldn't.  We're a 24/7 relationship, but it's a combination between nilla and M/s, made even more unique by the fact that my paying job is to be his care attendant, so I often have to tell him to do things.  Ultimately, though, he does own me, so he has final say in everything.  We share the chores according to who feels the best, and we take turns with the yucky ones, including his sons.

I dunno... being a Domme.. it's REALLY hard for me to tell if it's PMS.. or just Me.

(not really... I'm past that and a regular pussycat)

But when I did.. I'd just get quiet. I knew what was going on and just watched my behaviour until it passed.

My problem is getting mean while I'm PMSing.....I get so hateful, I know I'm doing it, but I can't help myself, my son and my entire family know to just stay away from me that time of the month.

Don't feel bad, as you know i am Scooter and Jewel's 24/7 collared and tattooed slave but for those three days i stay in my room and they are very quiet because nobody wants to deal with me awake.  I understand those days where anything that moves is a target.

Mine had gotten so bad that I started Depo again, not becasue I need it, but because until I know for a fact tat I am going to be attempting a family at some point, I would prefer just not to have a period.  I had to call out of work a time or two for the cramps before and during, and after that, depo was a life saver for me.
