We? Nope...sorry Artie. It was not a "we". It was Tammy.

My guess is you are pretty darn upset that she exposed a crack in the foundation of the perfect "House of Arturas" crap you have tried to portray.

Perhaps you need to forget the fact that you look like an ass and focus on what is important. Remove your head from your butt and look around you. Look at Tammy...she is in a great deal of pain and is trying to create the Brady Bunch fantasy that i am sure you expect.
Her posts should tell you that she is trying to accomplish the impossible. Unless you and Tammy share the household responsibilities equally (yes...equal with your slave, Artie. How is THAT for a concept??) your castle is going to crumble. Those responsibilities include the assignment of chores to every member of the household and enforcing the consequences if those chores are not completed. It is not just Tammys job, it is yours as well. She needs you to back her up, so do it.

Tammy...give up school for now. Just give it up because on your list of priorities it is pretty low.

Get your medical needs taken care of. This is first. Pain can cloud your judgment and impair your thought process. You need to get the pain under control and there are newer methods being developed in the treatment of Fibro.

You have no choice but to make yourself your number one priority. I have used this example before: think of the emergency instructions given on a flight...if the oxygen masks drop, parents put their mask on first and only then do they assist their children. The reason for that is because you are useless to the kids who desperately need you unless you are taken care of first. (please note that Art does not fit into this example...it is you and the kids.)

Tammy, martyrdom is not pretty, and you don't do it well, so knock it off. And posting from YOUR phone that is STUCK logged in under Artie just shreds any remaining credibility you may have. There is zero reason for you to be logged into Artie's account on YOUR phone, unless you want to post as him and stick up for him.

If that was a reply to my serious post, then obviously the most obvious thing - my post - eludes you. Do as I have told you, and if after two weeks you have got complaints, then tell me I was wrong.

I have always been a casual observer to the drama that always seems to follow after Tammy or Art have posted in the regular boards. I think  her OP on this thread is genuine but posted in a way to seek sympathy mostly but what is wrong with that..if she/they hadn't had the history they had on here previously I wonder if the answers would have changed. With all that being said, I think she is genuinely asking for help and is frustrated with Art and he should listen to her more and they should try and work it out between them..maybe school online might work if that is available.

Since you aren't going to listen to anyone here, go talk to a child psychologist. Allow him/her to talk to your children in private as they will not talk in front of you freely knowing you will tell Art all of it.

Group therapy for them, different groups for the different ages, so they can make friends in the same circumstances. Broken homes, no one to turn to for help, unwanted and unloving step-parents. They will benefit from knowing others in the same circumstances and they will share coping strategies.

The psychologist can make recommendations to you, but your children need this help.

I have no idea what her history here was. And someone else posted that it had no effect on her reply.

Never heard of that diet. Rather that then meds

Tammy before following that diet, do some research. WebMD has other suggestions. They are saying dairy is bad for you. I limit my intake severely and take vit d instead.

6. Dairy. Be they low fat or high fat, some experts say, dairy products -- particularly, milk -- have been known to drive the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Avoiding these products may help some people turn their health around.

On the other hand, if you feel as if milk is doing your body some good, keep chugging a glass or two of skim milk a day. It's got calcium to build bones and protein to build muscle, and it's fat free.

7. Nightshade Plants: Tomatoes, chili and bell peppers, potatoes, and eggplant. There are over 2,000 species of plants that that can be listed under the category of "nightshade." Those which are edible comprise a group that some say can trigger flares of various types of arthritis, including fibromyalgia.

"I have seen patients who do much better when they cut these foods out of their diet," says Holtorf. We're not sure why, but it seems to work in a significant percentage of fibromyalgia patients." At the same time, these vegetables are among the most nutritious. So if they don't trigger your fibro pain, don't ban them from your fridge.

Its a great article... there are many more out there. Research before diving head first.

In My case, no, it really wouldn't.  Whether I have any respect for Art or not is inconsequential regarding parenting advice.  I see tammy's job as a parent to be the issue with the highest priority.  Everything else is secondary.

My kids were roughly that age when I married MP.  I was the primary authority figure, so I don't even have an issue with Art not wanting to be that.  In our household, that didn't mean that MP abdicated being any kind of authority as the fellow adult in the house.  In My eyes, you don't get it both ways.  You don't get to bitch about something not being good enough if you're not willing to do anything about it.

Quitting school might be an option for tammy, but I haven't suggested it because, in those days for Me, I had a twelve hour a day job where quitting wasn't an option.  There was no 'aw, Mom will do it'.  There were times that I came home and raised hell.  (What parent of pre/early teens hasn't?)  I wasn't being their friend.  I was being their Mother.  From what's being presented here, I think that's what tammy and her children might benefit from, too.

My responses toward tammy would not have changed. I have told her what I have told other women. I gave what I thought was sound parenting advice.

Art and tammy, together, need to develop a plan for parenting those children. Rules and punishments they both agree too, and both are committed to following. Divide and conquer wont work in that atmosphere.

tammy, sadly some people believe a diet works for them, it works for everyone. As with any new diet, discuss it with your physician first. we dont know if you have any other underlying health conditions... nor is it our business to know.

Research the diets... it could make you better, it could increase your pain, depending on the conditions that you could have in addition to the Fibro.
