Where did I say it was my business what happened there. How rude of you to assume I thought it was.

You're giving all the 'reasons' why women have a private medical procedure performed. If that's not piercing the doctor/patient privacy of the exam room, what is is?

It's none of anyone's damn business why someone else gets ANY medical procedure.

Of course you also equate a human life with a head of lettuce so that doesn't surprise me.

lol..

You still haven't answered, "If you're Pro-Life, then what do you eat?"

You don't call yourself "Pro-Human-Life", do you? No.

You don't call yourself "Pro-Unborn-Human-Life", do you? No.

If you're going to call yourself "PRO-LIFE", and not be a hypocrite, then you have to be PRO-ALL-LIFE.

So, now you're moving the goalposts, trying to spin the discussion with 'human' qualifiers, huh?

Pathetic. Go retake Internet 101.

Well, that's predicated on the erroneous belief that a soul is implanted at conception.

A hypothesis proven false by twinning at 15 days.

Wow, they found out when the soul is implanted. That is amazing. Something this big has to have a shit load of links. Why not provide a few?

Isn't that the "Anti-Family-Planning" position? That at conception, the living sperm, and living egg join together and SOMETHING DIVINE HAPPENS. What could possibly happen to make the blastocyst 'special' so that it's worthy of their 'protection'?

I *personally* think anyone who buys into "Life begins at Conception" to be either a nitwit, or crazy. Mostly just fucking stupid, since they're too dumb to observe that since the sperm and egg are both 'alive', then the assertion that 'life begins...' is just fucking retarded.

I didn't ask about anyone else's opinion. You said it was proven wrong and I am pretty sure that something that big would have hit the papers. So where is your link? Either provide one or admit you were just blowing hot air.

Where have I ever said I was pro-life? Sorry to break it to you, but once again you are wrong. I am pro-choice and according to your logic I can eat what ever the fuck I want.

Crazy Catholic Church doctrine is that souls are atomic and immutable. If you disagree, go take it up with Ratzinger.

Hypothesis: A soul is implanted at conception.

Experiment: IF a soul is implanted at conception, twinning of the blastocyst at up to 15 days after conception leaves us in one of three discrete states:

State A: One Twin has a soul. One Twin doesn't have a soul.

State B: The soul is split.

State C: The second soul is implanted AFTER CONCEPTION.

Now since States B and C go against church doctrine, only State A would be valid IF the hypothesis was true.

Since we *obviously* aren't overrun by the evil twins possesses by the spirits of demons, then State A itself is false.

Without any valid end states, the hypothesis is falsified.

QED.

Well, your request was stupid. But hey, I hope you got the point that "Life begins at conception" is fucking retarded, and the idea that a blastocyst is 'special' because "Life begins at conception" doubly so.

But no-one ever accused the Anti-Family-Planners of being very smart, have they?

Just perhaps both souls are there at conception...after all if God is giving life he must surely know if there will be twins.

My asking you to provide proof of your claims is stupid? Are you suggesting I should have just have assumed you were lying when you claimed it? Maybe you have a point.

That's a nice hypothesis. Got any evidence in support of it?

And I'm still wondering, "What do 'Pro-Lifers' eat???"

So, you're saying that your god knows that there's going to be a twin, and assigns souls appropriately?

But, also knowing that the blastocyst, embryo will be aborted, he still installs a soul?

How fucked up is your god? And if your god so casually regards souls, why would you get bent out of shape?

Remember free will... very important to us Christians. Remember he allowed you to and I'm sure he is not too happy about that. Hell he allowed me too and I've a longer list then you of sins I'm sure.

Edited to save my ass from the Mods.

Then why don't you respect the "Free Will" of those who choose to use birth control or have an abortion?

This thread is not about who is for or against abortion... just the hypocrisy of one side or the other over prayer.

Actually, you mean you don't HAVE a quote, and you don't NEED one to mischaracterize it after your own fashion.

Perhaps realize that when you have to invent a position to attack it, you don't have an argument yourself.

It's a dismissal, not a case.

Alright, you know I could care less about what side of abortion anyone is on. It's here and nothing is going to change it. But it's annoying how some people have started calling those against abortion the "anti-choice" party. What happened to pro-life and pro-choice?

"pro-life" was always a misnomer.

Neither side is against life. One side is for violence against actual people who disagree with them and for taking rights away from everyone because of their narrow religious beliefs.

One side says it is acceptable to kill human beings if they are inconvenient or disabled. The other side says that all life is precious, even those lives we don't agree with.

How can you say one side is not against life?

Well I agree one side is for killing people but I was trying to be nice to the christianists.

FR--

Given that about 50% of implantations fail, is God an abortionist? A lot of women miscarry before or at their period and don't realize it.

(this came from a Discover Magazine article, about 6 years ago, IIRC. It was amazing how low the odds were of a full-term live birth.)

The soul may be “atomic” and “immutable” but even according to your definition (Catholic doctrine on souls is a very complex derivation on ancient and Medieval philosophy), a soul could still be replicated, and indeed many have noted a remarkable (arguably almost psychic) link between twins that goes above and beyond anything found with others having strong familial ties.

For those that accept the notion or existence of free-will, it doesn't automatically follow that they will implicitely accept actions as a consequence of this aspect of reality. If they did then it would seem that they would have no right to object to any expression of free will, which would include murder or genocide.
