ORIGINAL: Nosathro I worked in Prisons, you would be surprised at some of the inmates IQs. Didn't say a word about IQs, did I? Nope. I specifically mentioned grades and attendance, ie. the scholastic record, which is what we were discussing in Martin's case. There are many inmates in prison right now with advance degrees, you would also be surprised how many inmates get advance degrees while in prison. quote:
ORIGINAL: Nosathro You are the one who claims that those with concealed weapons permits can go anywhere....so my point is not invalided. Sure it is. Because apart from splitting common-sense hairs (which is what you're doing to avoid acknowledging the truth about CHLs), you have no other point to make. Of course there are places you can't take a firearm. But apart from those few places, where federal law or a private property owner prohibits it, CHL holders can carry their weapons where they like. You are the one who said "anywhere" I sugguest you look up the defination of anywhere. quote:
ORIGINAL: Nosathro So you are assuming that if you go to the store you will be attacked, so you need a weapon to defend yourself. Does this happen everytime you go to the store? It doesn't matter how often it happens. It does happen. Do you not watch the news at all? In the 2-mile area where I live, a special education teacher was robbed and beaten in the grocery story parking lot, put into a coma. A man was robbed and shot at the 7-11, another man was stabbed outside of a restaurant, and yet another was robbed in the parking lot of what's considered a very high-end mall. It happens quite a bit. Some would like to carry a firearm in case it happens to them. The second amendment, as well as CHL laws, allow them to do so. You have no say in that, no matter how snarky you choose to be in your replies. I am going to share with you a real life experience I had. There was a time I carried a firearm, my job required to do so. I went into a small postal annex just to drop off some mail. I walked into a robbery. I was not carrying my firearm. It was small crowed with women and children etc. I sat there as instructed to at gun point, made notes of the robbers. Shortly after that they left, no one was harmed. I gave my statement to Detective, the Detective stated I was their best witness, the robbers were arrested a short time later. At the trial I and the Post Master for the Annex were the only witnesses called by the Prosecution, they were convicted. You think if I had my firearm the robber would be dead, I rather would hate to think how many women and children would be have been shot.
