He wasn't even 'going to college' or anything. He was just wandering around harassing people about their religious choices being inferior to his crazy beliefs.

Not that much of an issue here. He got deferments like Cheney did. The point is that he "recollected" it differently than it was. That's standard fare for politicians and par for the course for Romney particularly, who has been eager to remake his image as he goes.

Thanks for sharing Fargle, Romney has a lot of skeletons falling out of his closet.
With Mitts, it's just one thing after another.

pro war--draft dodger
What's next?

It has to make you wonder about those so eager to vote for him.

Anyone know if he supported or protested the Viet Nam war?

If he supported the war, this could have some traction with many Americans.

Owner, cupcake the year was 1965.
It was MOST certainly the Vietnam War!

He supported the Vietnam War but dodged the draft.
Click on the link, there is a picture of him holding a PRO-war sign!

That pic seems faked to me....

I`ve seen it before.

Can anyone verify independently if he really was pro war?

Thanks in advance.

OK we know that no US President has died in combat.

But then there are other questions. Have any been injured, shed blood or even got their boots muddy ? I think the closest we came was McCain being the only POW in history to gain weight, but he didn't win. We have a couple of pilots who kill from the sky. Are there any who actually were in a real battle on the ground ?

Yeah, why couldn't he just dodge the draft, smoke weed, burn the American flag in a foreign country and tour Russia like a good, decent American?

Peace and comfort,

Mitt was too busy protesting protesters at Stanford prior to hiding in France...

Chickenhawk in the making at the time.....but that's ok DaddySatyr, perhaps he'll be elected with enough time to send his 4-5 thousand American boys to their death over something non-existent
like the last idiot just like him we put in place.....

Absolutely love how Clinton's draft dodging was mentioned in passing. Amazing ya'all can overlook that stuff when there's a D behind the name.

Romney got 4 deferments, including school, and a 41 month missionary deferment (mission work isn't an uncommon event in a Mormon's life).

I have also noticed that no one has questioned farglebargle's initial sentence with the quoted portion.

How was he an Undergraduate and not "going to school" or anything?

How many of you extolled the virtues of John Kerry, who not only ran on his military experience, but was also guilty of protesting against the war he gained the experience he was proud of?

Clinton wasn't protesting in SUPPORT of the war ....now was he?

One thing to get deferments, another to protest in favor of others going to die while you hide behind your DADDY'S political clout....

Let's not forget that Sen. Kerry's organization used a communist banner under which the good senator marched while still a reserve officer in the United States Navy (I believe that was a court martial offense, at the time). God bless his little pinko heart.

Also, thank you for reposting the erroneous quote. I would have caught it, had I been able to see it.

Yes, it's true, the left has this amazing ability to spin anything they wish to suit their flavor (of shit) of the (campaign) season. It's interesting that Governor Romney engaged in a protest against an anti-war protest. He did not engage in a pro-war protest. I think that bears some distinction but that's another subtle nuance that the lefties will ignore and twist to their benefit (as we have evidence of here).

It's kind of like me, protesting against the labor union that wants to march down "Main Street" because I'm pissed off at the delays it causes me, getting to work. It's not that I am against fair wages, etc. It's that their protest is interfering with my life.

Maybe Mitt Romney (he wasn't yet elected to anything) was protesting the fact that the long hairs were disrupting classes?

It doesn't matter. The lefties will lie about it until it fits their political agenda.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Hmmm...Kerry was a decorated soldier, who disliked the politial use of American TEENAGERS as fodder for a stupid, unsustainable and highly detestable war.

If Kerry didn't have the right to protest the actions of our Government in a war like Viet Nam, who would?

Keep bitching about such things as protest fella's, next war maybe you could set the example for us all and volunteer?

He absolutely had a right to protest the war. of course he did. As a reserve officer in the US Navy, he didn't have the right to do it under a communist banner.

Sorry, SilverMark, my time of service has long passed and when I did try to re-inlist (13 SEP. 2001), I was told I had already done my bit and to go home and raise my son as my ex-wife was incapable of doing so, at the time.

Talk about NOT answering the question raised (Senator Kerry marching under a communist banner) and being insulting at the same time. I don't know you very well and I hope to get to know you in the future but I have little tolerance for people who strawman my opinions.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Yes, and carrying a communist banner is not freedom of speech?

Everyone should have Freedom of Speech, but not a decorated soldier?....Really DS?....

I read your claim of such, but have no knowledge of it, if it was not picked by him, but was selected by those who lead the group, should he not protest based on the selction of a banner?
