But that was not what we were talking about... I said millions would not make a big deal out of it...not if it were right... wrong... or otherwise. Then you came with the democratic comment. Now you are trying to change the context of our discussion.

Butch

Yes, I did. Millions did make an issue out of Billy.

quote:

Those millions have done so... when it was a Democratic family member.

Again, pointing to the hypocrisy.

Its ok to do it then... but not now?

Whats the difference?

He`s also a birther.

I recall a few folks here said it didn`t/shouldn`t reflect on his dad when I posted his birther comments .

But he`s one of Mitt`s senior advisers......and really shouldn`t get a "dumb-son" pass.

Can`t have it both ways.........although the Romenys seem to, quite often......

Personally, the way I see the whole thing.

We have a family of entitled narcisists that believe they are above the standards most people hold themselves to. Or the standards they, themselves, hold others to.

And you arent getting it.

Its NOT ok now. If it were my family member, they would be apologizing, I would be apologizing, and then some real mess would be flying at home in private. I was raised with "public" manners. What I got away with among family would never have gotten by my parents in public.

Open mouth, insert foot, pay the Doctor bill to remove it.

And I do respect your opinion...in fact I pretty well agree… but it is the principle of making this type of judgment based on this particular comment I can’t agree with. Too many people would have, in so many words, said the same thing if their father was called a liar...even if the person was the President of the United States.

most cons do say that after you correct their brietbartisms.  And then when you do, they say I will punch you in the face.

Nay...I'm just a mommy and daddy's boy...anyone calling them a lair would be speaking fightin words...even if they were right and even if one was running for public office.

And my actions would not make my mom or dad bad parents... It is my contention that millions would agree with me and agree with Romney's son. AND even if they did or did not they would not think it a big deal.

Threatening to punch someone are "fighting words".......

If his skin is that thin.....the kid shouldn`t be let near a mic or be a senior adviser in a political campaign.

I've thick skin when it comes to most things... my family is different. I am not saying it was right just understandable and not worth the uproar here on CM. It will mean nothing come the election and the theme of this thread is just as hateful as his words... As always just my opinion anyway and I'm defending it...even if it is someone I do not like defending.

Punching the President of the United states in the face ... wouldn't knock any fuckin' sense into him, anyway. So, not worth the effort.

If you heard the interview you would understand how it was meant. It was not spoken in a threatening way at all. If someone called my father a liar when I did not think it justified I could see myself using the same language.

The office of President deserves respect when presidential but not the man when he is not.

I am not saying Obama is wrong but I am saying that may be the honest truth as far as Tagg Romney is concerned. And what damn difference does it make anyway.

Butch

Kidding right?

I agree with Butch. I heard the speech and it was more whimsical rhetoric than anything else.

Hardly something to get worked up over. It isn't like he threatened to assassinate him (as has been done on Twitter if Romney wins) or start riots.

I'm sure we all have gotten angry and wanted to kick someone's ass before. He is smart enough to not act on those feelings. He is no threat to anyone.

Yeah nothing to get excited about. Assault of a federal elected official is only a felony.

If it was a CREDIBLE threat, the guy would be in custody already, candidate's son or no........what we have here is another Obama campaign distraction like Mitten's dog, his wife's horse, homemade cookies, binders, etc, anything to demonize the guy until their man can slide in under the re election wire
