You assume that peace is desired.
An option is 'balance of power.'
If you are unhappy with Obama cast your vote against him . . . .oopss, too late!!!

What silliness is this? Balance of power has been a U.S. policy for more than a generation. It depends on your definition of balance I suppose. Balance of power as in equal to Canada? Such a view would be exceedingly radical. Is Obama then a moderate?

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 9:22:46 AM)

In other words, someone has sold us bullshit.

A moderate and a pragmatist. Yes.

A ... pragmatist.

Lucifer seduces intellectuals. Be reasonable he says. Accept the bribe.

mnottertail -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 10:45:54 AM)

Is Lucifer incapable of seducing the drooling imbeciles?  And on that subject, was Eve a Bryn Mawr woman, and Adam out of MIT?

I don't recollect that they went to pretty good schools.

Strategically which is more important a drooling imbecile or an intellectual? An intellectual can have a way with words that are penetrating. An imbecile has a lesser capacity. An imbecile can only appeal to the lowest common denominator, but cannot take the tower.

Perhaps you are with the Christians who mock the devil as if the devil were an imbecile.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 11:15:49 AM)

A pragmatist is someone who will sell you out.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 11:47:12 AM)

When confronting Satan in battle one might be inclined to believe that they have engaged in forlorn battle, a battle where there is no hope of victory, a battle fought on death ground. Yet, victory is possible.

mnottertail -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 11:48:37 AM)

So what weapons are available?  Vomit spewing, what else?

What did I have except a coven that fell apart? It stood for awhile, but in the end I was alone. I alone remained at her side. She held onto me as someone would hold onto a life preserver; consequently, you could say that I was not altogether alone.

My reward? Knowledge that I did not abandon my post.

mnottertail -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 12:22:54 PM)

Did you try stabbing her in the crotch with a crucifix or spinning your head around?

slvemike4u -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 12:28:09 PM)

So I walked in here at the top of this page(hadn't been following the thread,my bad) and I am struck by the fact that this is a very weird place indeed.[8|]

SchrodingerSock -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/13/2012 12:34:27 PM)

what do i think

Iran - progressive but still ruled by bonkers clerics
Not one more country should ever should be allowed nuclear weaponry.

Radicals eh! what u gonna do bomb them back to the stone age - weren’t they one of the cradles of civilization

If it twere up to me I’d abolish religion on account of none of it makes any sense - and it all seems to be nicked from the Babylon’s Egyptians (it really is) and odd others.

As for us Christians i am sure we spent 2 millennia crusading against barbaric sand dwellers (builders of some of the finest, most sophisticated structures still on this planet. And then later on we started on our own peoples for various acts of heresy - persecuting and crucifying everyone - only took us 2k years to get there - arnt we progressive

Yep, I agree.
But, how could you sensibly replace them when the vast majority of the population thinks the sun shines out of their porthole??
They wouldn't like a non-bonkers anybody because it suits their religious style and extremist views - compared to our way of thinking.
I'm sure they think they are right and we are the ones who are wrong.

And who are we to dictate who can and who can't have nuclear technology?
Isn't that saying that others can't have the same toys as you?
That is called being a bully.
I'm guessing your view is because they are ruled by bonkers clerics?
As much as I agree, it would depend who you'd call bonkers and measured against who's yard stick!

Yes they were; but I think they're still stuck in the cradle [:D]

I don't think those indoctrinated in their respective little religious boxes would agree with you.
But many would! [8D]

I suppose 2,000 years compared to... how long has man been on this earth?
I guess you can call that fairly rapid progression.

The ultimate faux bribe is embedded in mindless god-belief.

Wiccans are Wiccans, not Pagans.
The same as Jews are Jews, Catholics are Catholics, Protestants are Protestants.... etc.
You are typically labelling all non-christians as Pagans.

No I'm not. I'm labelling pagan polytheists as pagans.
I've already pointed out that Jews and Muslims (and other devotees of monotheistic desert cults with a horror of women) are not pagans, which you've ignored, in your fluffy Wiccan way. lol.

My gaze was fixed on God. This was a point I already made. At the moment of exorcism when the devil was forced out it addressed me. It expressed amazement and tipped its hat. It also called me a Bastard. Immediately prior to this it attempted in a last ditch effort to interpose itself between me and God. God came down on the devil with a force of a sledge hammer. In this moment God judged me and the devil. I have been judged. Many remain to be judged. Consequently, you speak nonsense.

Yes, in a sense I suppose so.

You might say it was the day I became a Jedi.
