It couldnt possibly be that people actually see their own principles in Obama.... or they that they see something you dont.

It couldnt possibly be that people didnt like the principles portrayed by the GOP this election cycle.

No, for you, its that people are dumping their own principles to back Obama. And you cant see anything else.

Sure thing, Tazzy. I'm sure executive office meetings being considered all the due process required to kill a US citizen, and inventing a remote control exclusion to needing Congress to declare, or at least authorize, war are going to be no big deal at all, when we find a Republican in the White House again.

tazzygirl -> RE: A or B, not yes or no. (11/14/2012 8:20:03 PM)

Oh please, how long has that been going on? These decisions have been made for decades.... just no one discussed them. And now you want to bitch because they are openly discussing it?

So all our operational drone warfare protocols were written by Reagan, Bush 1, and Clinton in secret then, and poor President Obama is powerless to change them?

Sure thing, Tazzy.

Try Nixon. Not so private either since it was discussed before the House Appropriations Committee.

TheHeretic -> RE: A or B, not yes or no. (11/14/2012 9:10:43 PM)

Nixon, huh? I'm fascinated, Tazzy. I was just thinking, after catching the presser video, that Obama might wind up being the guy to use, "it isn't illegal if the President does it," while still in office, and here you are, finding things he inherited from Nixon.

Have a nice night.

Whats even more interesting is the hypocrisy that some have regarding issues they initially believe is a Democratic "shit storm"... until they discover the actual history behind these issues.

40 years after drones were first discussed and used, you NOW want to bitch about them?

This....from the supporter of someone who switched positions, sometimes 180 degrees/multipal times,on EVERY issue he ran on accept tax breaks for millionairs and exporting American jobs.......Mitt never swayed from those "principles"......[8|]

I think rich knows this was one of Mitt`s greatest weaknesses...zero principles....and is just trying to get a rise out`a folks by saying democrats don`t.......

That`s exactly why we won......our principles won.

By all means let's discuss people dumping their principles because of ideological 'convenience'.

Previously I posted about how the OP (and the Right generally) trashed one of their core values/principles namely "personal responsibility" (post #34, on page 2 of this thread). I detailed how the Right uses this principle selectively and hypocritically, how they refuse to apply this principle when they ignore their own responsibility for their electoral loss, while insisting on applying it to denigrate welfare systems and welfare recipients.

Those charges were ignored by our resident Right wing posters. A guilty silence? A strategic silence (because they have no answer to the charges)? A glaring silence? Definitely!

Above all, an eloquent silence - the Right's silence spoke volumes about its breath-taking hypocrisy on one of their so-called core principles. It's still not to late for Right wingers to respond here and explain their selective application of their 'core values'..... will they rise to the challenge or maintain a cowardly silence?

Tazzy, you obviously have never seen me commenting on Nixon, if that even makes sense in your head. I hate that fuck on a level that has nothing to do with political philosophy.

But if obtuse is your thing, I'm sure you and Owner59 can have lovely time together.

tazzygirl -> RE: A or B, not yes or no. (11/14/2012 10:30:35 PM)

I never said you liked him.... nor should you. At this time, you seem to be looking for things to point at Obama about. If using a drone can save an military life, Im all for it. Even you have said in previous postings that someone was a candidate for an armed drone attack.

How many people did Nixon kill with drones again? Or Reagan, or GHWB, or Clinton? Surely you have citations with proof that drones were killing people in Cambodia, or Vietnam, or Bosnia, or Somalia... Beirut?[8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: A or B, not yes or no. (11/14/2012 10:38:07 PM)

Cant you find them?

well, where was this remote control exclusion introduced?  there is no requirement constitutionally for the president as commander in cheif to do what he feels necessary, he doesnt need the congress, or didnt until 1973 plus for shit.   And the war powers act is clearly unconstitutional.  But if you read the 'Iraq War resolution' actually the war on terror resolution, Obama was given carte blanche on that by the republican congress under Bush.

You can whine all you want about something that is pathetically and patently absurdly incorrect and gnaw that fuckin bone to death, but it really doesn't do anything, it is futile, since it is about as imbecilic as a birther conspiracy.

So is trying to have any sort of sensible conversation on an internet forum, Lookie, but it's often an amusing waste of time.

Yeah. He's the Pres. and stays that way for another four. I'm not leaving the country. Nor am I caving, and deciding that more government really is the automatic best solution to every problem that comes along. Those who dump their principles because they put the letter by his name above all else, are still going to be Obamabots.

Well said.

Now you get to pay for them too.
