This is a heads up as to NOT just take someones word, about anything. If they claim something, you SHOULD check to make sure that "something" is true (accurate, up-to-date, etc.). I won't call him out bc that's not my style, but I can't speak for anyone else. Aside from being let down (both sexually and mentally), Im hoping I don't have herpes type 1. I didn't have it, but now, unsure. That's how honest I am. I am done with journal, account in general, but I hope he sees what an asshole he is. Don't worry, you're name isn't worth my breath...

I'm so sorry about your bad experience. Get tested right away and move forward using more precautions. Good luck to you.

I'm so sorry to hear about what has happened to you. My biggest question for myself when I screw up or put myself into a bad situation is "What did I miss or ignore that I got here?" So I ask the question to you, what did you miss or ignore that got you here? Someone else may be able to learn from you and dodge that bullet.

Hello and Thank You, FelineRanger.... I messed up. I believed what he said, bc of he seemed like a stand-up guy, and that was where I went wrong. he said he was 'clear' but then tells me afterwards that he may have herpes!! WTF?!? (ha) I told him that piece of information would have been great to know up front. he is so blasé about it, that is what gets me. And he was really lucking in being able to fuck me, that's for sure (not my type). But he seemed one way, and turned out the other. It's all on me, I am just stuck in feeling angry.

Jeez, he is such a dick. No wonder you are so mad, I would be too. But, it does not mean you got for sure unless you were already tested.

And thanks, I was not treated like a princess by my ex, so I am seeking someone who will.

I get tested every few years but I don't think I've ever seen herpes included on the panel. So his latest test may well have been "clear."

However, the way he mentioned it to you, sounds like he knew him having it was a possibility.

Fingers crossed that you didn't contract it.

If you didn't use a condom, start using them. It's stupid not to and I would think in this day and age any person above the age of 12 would know this.

Maybe next time before having sex, take awhile to get to know the person for awhile. What's the rush, especially if you have had poor man judgment in the past?

Herpes can be transmitted with condom use. In fact there are very few STDS that can actually be prevented by condom use, while use does bring down the risk it doesnt negate it is able to be transmitted

Exactly. If it can grow on a penis, it can grow on anything nearby that the penis flops against, including the thighs, scrotum, and belly...not to mention the mouth of the cockgobbler who last serviced it. Genital herpes doesn't care where it grows.

Quite a few people get cold sores.. (of course if it can be spread to the genitals under certain circumstances).. Stats say about 60% of the population has it, which means 6 out of 10 people you know/meet every day carry the virus even if they don't show signs of it.. (many of those contracted it as kids, btw)..

That may be true but I'm betting this is not what took place with the op. I get the feeling they said "Yeah, we're clear so let's have sex without the condoms". I mean come on, someone tells you something it MUST be true so don't bother taking precautions, especially if they are someone you just met. And I'm of the opinion that if someone did something like this, then they have no right to complain. Take responsibility for yourself.

Ummm, I knew the guy for a year... We DID USE condoms, but of course, guys 'can't feel..blah' (as I said, knew him for a year). I have ZERO problem getting dates. I am bored of 'vanilla' and NEED to do what I need to do.

So, I don't mind you giving opinions, but don't assume anything... people may do the same about you. :)
