hmmm, so why should anyone care about anyone then, why should anyone care about you or your brothers problems with race, as well. You don't care about his. Are you a brilliant phillanthropic saint not to be questioned and taken at your word, I believe that's the standard you set? Personally it's wrong on both ends, I'm not sure why you are being outwardly hostile to him, at least he is owning his demon. He didn't attack you personally, but you dismiss his story? Why? because it involved minorities. Because he said he had racist feelings at one point and admitted it. If you read it he said it got over it to.

I'd wager almost everyone on this board has had negative experiences directed towards them because of race. You don't own it, we all do. Sorry. It is well possible, that a white person could have negative things done to them because they were white.

Or is that impossible to you? Would you give the same response if it were a black person stating the same about whites?

I don't discount his experience at all... I simply replied that what he has experienced is an everyday occurence with people of color (related to myself or not). Show me where I attacked him, and I'll remove it! He said he got over it, but I don't believe it... Are you going to make me?

I would NEVER ask for sympathy (or understanding) especially from you NeedToUseYou. You know just as you said you learn about people on the boards, you too have impressed me on the boards. M

I didn't say he was lying. I said that what he experienced is more an exception with him and a common occurence with folks of color. The problem is that the US is only outraged when shit happens to white folks generally speaking (especially with current governance). M

I get so much friggin hate mail from white men that it is not even funny The below email I got today from a white 47 year old dominant in new york who is 5'9. What a bunch of assholes....

You can do as you wish, but be aware that black men carry AIDS 35 times more than other races in the USA. Also the overwhelming majority of blacks an infected with genital herpes and HPV. HPV is proven to cause cervical cancer in women. Your choices could have disasterous long term health consequences for you. My conscious is clear as I've educated you. Now you do as you wish. The vast majority of Africans put into slavery were sold into it by other Africans. Let us not forget all of the problems beset upon the African continent of late. Black on black violence. We mustn't forget Asia, what with the rape on Nanking and other incidences. Strangely, it seems that most of the atrocities of history have been perpetrated upon every "race" on this planet, usually by those of the same race. Violence and suppression is not owned by any one group. All are guilty, and all have fallen victom. If I were to beat up a black person while calling them n****r or boy, it would be a hate crime. What if a black person beats me up calling me whitey or white-boy? Is that not the exact same thing? Is previous history a justification for such behavior?
Now, I may not be a phillanthropist (way to cynical for that), nor am I a saint. Is that a reason to discount my experience? If that's the case, then why sould anyone care what happened to black people? Unless you are proposing that all black people are phillanthropic saints only trodden upon by non-blacks. Interesting. All black people are perfect. Others, not. I'm sorry, but that does sound a bit racist. I have examined my self on the count of racism and the reasons for racist thoughts. Perhaps you should do the same. Try to use logic and reason, and not knee-jerk emotionalism. As for my racism, I AM over it. I am now just a general curmudgeon: humanity generally stinks. I now assume all to be corrupt and evil until I get to know them on an individual basis. Whether you believe me or not is of little consequence to me. I do not care. As long as I know who I am, it matters not what others think.

If people can't see the racism in the phrase "advance the cause of black people" they should be ashamed of themselves.

Try "advancing the cause of people who need it", otherwise you're creating the very segregation that civils rights activists fought to end.
