Really? Why don't you cite your source where the DOF Ferguson report states that a cop stuck his gun in someone's face and demanded their wallet?

I thought I just did. It is in the DOJ report on Ferguson. It is available on google. That is where I read it.
Do you need a link?
Nope...just the paragraph. I assume the cop in question...presumably not Darren Wilson...has been properly investigated, found guilty, jailed and fired? Or was it simply an unproven allegation?

I think he took a few liberties in presentation... could be wrong... but unless i am mistaken it did not happen as he stated...at least without leaving a good portion of the incident out.

Butch

I am not sure how you get there from here? I am sure I did not suggest you shoot anyone.

If you choose not to read the report that is your business.

Seems to be the consensus. I always found him to say off the wall stuff to push his point and irritate people. And he loves to take little things and run way off subject.

I have noticed that the only part of the DOJ report that many have read has to do with the DOJ decission not to indite officer Wilson. Is there some reason you would prefer to remain ignorant about the goings on in Ferguson? How is it possible for us to have a discussion about this subject without knowledge of the subject?

For many here, ignorance is a prerequisite to their certainties.

I am sure that number is quite small.

The subject of this thread was the state of emergency declared in Ferguson, Mo. That was due to riots that began as folks gathered together to mourn the unfortunate removal of Officer Darren Wilson from his employment for simply doing his job......whoops, sorry, wishful thinking there. They gathered together to mourn the death (brought on by himself) of Michael Brown and decided the best way to mourn was to begin rioting with associated burning, looting and shooting. All to commemorate a thug's death.

I'm not ignorant of other claims of Police Abuse. But that isn't what this thread is about, nor what the riots were initially about either. But you knew that, right? I also think you knew that anyone reading all your post about the DOJ Ferguson investigation would think you were referring to Darren Wilson, Michael Brown and what happened. That, after all, was the MAIN reason given for the DOJ presence in Ferguson.

Are you equally not ignorant of the DOJ response to those claims?

What does the answer to that question...or the question itself...have to do with the title of the thread, the subject of the thread or the main subject of my response to you?

I have cited the source.

Why are you upset that I cited the source you asked for?

Saw this in the comments section here:

quote:

The administration's reactions to these things are straight identity politics.

White perpetrator black victims-focus on the racism angle of the story. Get black voters engaged by pandering to their feelings of marginalization, fear and self loathing.

White victims (any perpetrator) focus on gun control as panacea to dangerous world. Appeal to white urban, suburban voters anxieties regarding crime and mentally ill spree killers. These victims look just like your kids and friends and you could be next. We can stop this by passing laws. Ignore the fact that crime is at historically low levels.

Black victims, black perpetrator- silence. Does not fit requirements of identity politics and only serves to shed light on failures of government policies regarding inner city black communities.

There is a gigantic false antithesis going on here. On the one hand the all powerful police state is being offered to white voters in exchange for the perception of safety. On the other the institutional racism of that same apparatus is given as a cause of black incarceration and murder rates.

I'm not upset. Takes a lot more than this forum to upset me.

Why can't you follow up and bring the relevant paragraph in?

Why can't you answer the questions asked of you?

Because there is no paragraph that states it quite the way he did... otherwise he is paraphrasing and putting his personal twist on the story. I suggest keeping his feet to the fire.
