It's weird because I didn't like what they did, but I liked the episode.

We are getting set up big time for the season finale. There have been some really cool Easter eggs lately for comic book fans.

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/14/2016 9:21:56 AM)

No spoilers for the scroll but season six has been pretty amazing. Episode thirteen doesn't disappoint. Make sure you watch first before you read the thread...

How cool was a Carol and Maggie focused episode? Have to say, I really enjoyed the guest stars. It was like Bizzaro World.

BitaTruble -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/14/2016 9:34:27 AM)

Melissa McBride needs to win an Emmy for that episode. Nuff said.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/14/2016 1:43:25 PM)

I heart carol/Melissa...Maggie n glenn peeved me last episode, but maggie came balls to the wall too. Enjoyed the hell out of it...

PeonForHer -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/14/2016 3:26:17 PM)

Just watched it. Wow, was that harrowing. The setting was like that of Saw - some godforsaken building; horror everywhere. But depth-type stuff, too. I'm wondering about that cut Maggie suffered, though ....

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/15/2016 10:28:01 PM)

Season six has been amazing. I did have a giggle at how very (girlie) it was. Badass girlie to be sure but, while the interrogators didn't get anything from Maggie or Carol, the captors seemed all about sharing their feelings lol. It was like the worlds goriest slumber party or a really messed up group therapy.

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/16/2016 4:06:17 AM)

Shoot. I almost started typing in excitement and accidentally put spoilers on the scroll. I think I get excited because this season has been so good.

Peon, I think the knife lunge cut the shirt but didn't cut Maggie. Something like a wake up call about how close she could be to something hurting the baby. It could be over in a second and I think that's why she said she just can't do this anymore at the end of the episode.

Win, I almost put on the thread about how submissive males should have loved this episode because it was all about strong women. OK. I know I'm stereotyping there but there's got to be at least a little bit of an angle. Some rather attractive women, too. Women taking control of their world? There's got to be a hotness factor there, no matter what a person's "type" would happen to be. Smart, capable, physically attractive... Who doesn't like that?

Three episodes left to the season. Is anybody else reading the chatter about who will live and who will die before it's over? If they get us good, it might be the biggest character kill since Hershel.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/16/2016 4:19:44 AM)

im worried about the rosary and whose blood was on it...

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/16/2016 4:25:42 AM)

Not for the scroll. Not for the scroll. Not for the scroll.

More space. More space. More space.

Edit again. WtH? Is this enough now?

It was Carol's blood. Carol had sharpened the edges of the cross to cut through the tape. When she was curling it in her hand trying to deal with the events, she was holding it so tight that it was cutting into her hand.

Edited to make sure there would not be spoilers on the scroll.

Cheating now to avoid the scroll. <grin>

Supposedly, there's an AMC link about how they escaped. I haven't watched it yet but I'm sure it's awesome.

How cool were those few moments between Carol and Daryl at the end of the episode? Yeah, I suck, but I'm still pulling for that to happen.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/16/2016 5:03:29 AM)

Nope. I'm sort of embarrassed to say: I came over all white-knight, instead. At the end, I was surprised, at first, that they didn't all get 'saved' by Rick and Co. But then I thought, 'Ah, no - this was a Heroines episode'. And those lasses didn't pussyfoot.

Damned good episode, whatever. This show shows *no* sign of tiring - not in my eyes, anyway.

camille65 -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/20/2016 6:47:38 PM)

Holy shit! I actually screamed out loud when that happened. Wow. Whoa. Aw man.

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/22/2016 6:40:28 AM)

The latest episode of season six has aired everywhere now. Just a few extra words in here to avoid spoilers for the scroll. There will be spoilers in the post, so if you haven't seen "Twice As Far" yet, skip the thread until you do.

I'm going to admit I was totally thrown. The episode takes some scenes directly from the comic between Abraham and Eugene, so you get fooled thinking the foregone conclusion from issue #98 is coming and the side story of Daryl, Rosita, and Denise is going to be the filler. In the comic, it was Abraham who was supposed to get shot by Dwight, so I was really shocked when it ended up being Denise. Makes it all the more sad that she didn't tell Tara that she loved her, too, when she had the chance.

Sorry to the guys, but it was funny when Eugene bit Dwight. I'm glad Josh McDermitt has a good sense of humor.

Carol's note to Tobin? I thought maybe it was going to be the opening for that Daryl/Carol thing I'm still hoping for, but no. It's just setting us up for episode fifteen. Even without seeing the previews, does anybody really think Daryl's not going after her?

Only two episodes left.

Ugh. It's why I hate the long break in the middle, it makes it seem as if the season just started!
I'm looking forward to FTWD, though. It's a nice distraction while TWD isn't on.

I wasn't impressed with this last episode, until the Denise thing happened. She was so interested in that cooler, and I told her not to do it - that she's going to get them all killed - the TV didn't listen to me. I was close, but really surprised when and how it happened.
She really, really should not have gone (that's even more obvious now).

It is kind of an expected thing that Daryl will go after Carol. I don't understand why she left. There is still a possibility she'll have to kill once on her own - unless she'd rather die. I'm still kind of surprised she's going through this, but if I think back just about every main character has has some sort of breakdown. It's her turn. She has been through a lot.

LOL Me too, I found myself yelling at the TV several times during that episode.

camille65 -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/22/2016 1:27:49 PM)

Okay folks, I need your opinions on Denise.

My sister (on Facebook) commented that I'd so totally be a Denise. I feel a bit insulted as I'd prefer to be seen as a Michonne lol. To me the character of Denise is someone: passive, pretty damn helpless, bland, somewhat lost, and timid (excluding her passionate speech on the train tracks). Am I missing something? I know its stupid but my feelings are hurt that my favorite sister thinks I'd be killed the first time I dared leave safety. [&:]

I wanna be Michonne! Sexy, cool and good with a sword! [:D]

So am I seeing a different and wimpy version of Denise that no one else sees?

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/23/2016 4:44:51 AM)

Well, who wouldn't want to be Michonne? LOL. The cool sword alone makes her a bad ass. [;)]

Denise turned out to be ok. She might not have been everybody's up front definition of brave but she ended up finding it when it counts. She saved Carl and Scott. She applied herself to being a better doctor when she knew people needed her. Compassionate. All kinds of good qualities. Not a bad kind of person to be at all.

satanscharmer -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/23/2016 6:18:56 AM)

For fun, I took a few of those online quizzes and it came back I am most like Michonne. It's on the Internet, it must be true, right?
It's not because I'm badass though, I think it's mostly because I build a wall and let few in. And I picked a sword out of the weapon choices. Lol.

There's nothing wrong with Denise. Because she was a relatively new character on the show, it seems she had a short life. But, she actually managed to survive longer than a lot of scary characters. That's the name of the game, survival no matter how it is done. While she seemed weak, she offers a lot that others are lacking. Look what she did accomplish with the 'W' guy. I'd say that was a huge accomplishment, given the fact that he risked his life to save hers. He wouldn't have done that for just anyone.
While she may have carried a lot of self-doubt, she was intelligent and very capable of many things. She was assigned the role of doctor, and instead of cowering out, she did her homework. If she set her mind to something, she didn't give.
