Until Peon does something about hurrying up his time zone so he can watch, here's a sidetrack for you.

quote:

AMC has joined the list of Hollywood companies who will stop filming in Georgia if the state passes an anti-gay "Religious Liberty" bill.

Almost every major television and film production company has joined the long list, including Viacom, 21st Century Fox, Walt Disney and Marvel.

AMC has filmed its hit television show "The Walking Dead" in Georgia since the start of the program.

The legislation would prevent religious individuals from being forced to perform same-sex weddings and would allow faith-based groups (including churches and religious schools) to refuse employment and service to anyone who doesn't agree the group's religious beliefs.

If the bill passes on May 3rd, the state is expected to lose billions of dollars in revenue.

Go ahead, LP - I've caught the latest episode. But thanks for waiting. All I'll say about it is, 'Oh no!'

Re AMC's stand: good for them. What they're standing against, meanwhile, started off looking nasty - and now is looking sillier by the day, as well. I keep seeing these memes going around Facebook - pictures of huge bearded lumberjack types - even bodybuilders - saying 'Do you want your wife to share a toilet with me?'

I've just heard, on a YouTube vid, that Andrew Lincoln's real surname is 'Clutterbuck'.

That is All.

That is apparently true: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0511088/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

If nothing else, hon, it provides filler for the scroll.

Even if we *just* look at this thing as TWD fans, this could be MAJOR. If AMC pulls out of filming in GA, (which I honestly believe they should do if this passes in May) this could be HUGE going into season seven. They will be left with some limited choices. One would be to attempt to duplicate every set, including the 'real life' neighborhood in Alexandria and what they are using for Hilltop. Another would be some serious jumping around in the comic book story lines. (They do have one potential out, which I won't say here unless non comic book readers want to hear it.) Three, try using as much film of exteriors from B-Reels as possible and slap as much together as they can possibly do, raising production costs of the show. Tell ya what. If any of these things go down, I'll be one TWD product buying MF to show my fan support. (Hey, I need a "If Daryl Dies, We Riot" t-shirt, anyway.)

Anyway, on with "East".

I totally blew my call last week. From the preview, I thought it was a set up that Daryl was going after Carol, and that wasn't the case at all. He was chasing DWIGHT! I was right, however, about Carol being foolish that she wouldn't have to kill, anymore. As far as I'm concerned, Carol gets an A+ for being prepared!

What was really cool about this episode, for me, since it aired on Easter in the US, were all of the Easter eggs and lines from former episodes that were planted in the show! I was almost thinking this episode was basically going to be nothing more than a set up for the finale, but it was that and so much more. As a pretty serious fan, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

PS. If you caught "The Talking Dead," too, I'm loving how "don't be a dick" is going strong.

PeonForHer -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/28/2016 1:41:56 PM)

Apparently, Benedict Cumberbatch took it for granted that he should adopt a stage name - but he was advised that his real name would make him 'stick out'. A gamble, but it worked out. 'Clutterbuck', though ... that's a step on even from 'Cumberbatch' and even Maurice Micklewhite (Michael Caine). Poor fella.

I haven't read why he chose 'Lincoln'. He has what I *think* is a Lincolnshire accent in Brit English. 'Lincoln' also has shades of Robin Hood here, who used to wear 'lincoln green', according to the legends. God knows how he got the lead role in 'The Walking Dead', though. Bit of a jump from the other role he was famous for here in the UK, 'Teachers'.

I don't know if you've seen this article or not. The original guy they had wanted for the part was an actor by the name of Thomas Jane. However, it was such a tough sell to any of the networks that they were pitching the show, that it took quite a while to get the thing to air. By then, Thomas Jane had signed on to do "Hung" on HBO. That's how Andy got the part.

satanscharmer -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/28/2016 8:19:59 PM)

I was happy to hear their stance on Georgia, as well, among others.

I don't really want to rush the weekend, but I'm excited for Sunday! I'm praying there won't be some dreadful cliffhanger.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/28/2016 10:37:54 PM)

The bill passed but the Governor vetoed it.

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/29/2016 7:42:30 AM)

Thanks, TDC. I guess that came in just yesterday. I was reading Gov Deal's statement this morning. Have to say I'm glad to hear it.

lovmuffin -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/30/2016 11:39:54 AM)

I like this show for the most part but I think it's getting more and more hokey and I'm getting bored with it. The ol'e machine gun up the sleeve deception.....I mean c'mon.

BondageersT -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 3:13:03 AM)

I REALLY KNOW SOME OF THE WALKING DEAD ARE AMONGST US.

HAHAHAHA.

A couple (ok, more than a couple) have said the same thing on other fan boards. I'll give you that it was predictable. I just look at it in another way.

Carol said she was splitting because she didn't want to kill over caring about other people. That's not how it's going to go for anybody out there roaming around, even if it's just self-preservation.

Heck, I'm the first one to say it would be cool to be a walker on the show or even "neighbor #3" in the background, somewhere. I think it would be fun.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 4:22:01 AM)

Im looking forward to Negan!!!!! JDM Is a great actor

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 11:44:27 AM)

Me, too. I had to read up on the actor because his name wasn't ringing a bell at first but I'm thinking he's a great choice. I kind of like his look for the part.

I can't say for anywhere other than the US but AMC is playing all of the episodes of season six, start to finish, in anticipation of the 90 minute season finale. That's 8:00 PM EST, so everybody will have to check their own time zones. (I'm out for the early episodes 'cause, I'm headed out for some fun, lol.) Still, all of Sunday is reserved TWD for me.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 12:34:21 PM)

What I am wondering is if Dwight and Negan are in cahoots, or if the gang is now facing two completely separate threats at the same time

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 1:07:19 PM)

TDC, I actually do know the answer to that one. I don't want to spoil it for you if you don't *really* want it to be spoiled. (I know. There's no way to phrase that to where it doesn't sound mean, but I swear I'm trying to be nice. I wouldn't want to ruin it for you if you don't know.)

I can promise the answer will be in the finale.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 1:10:22 PM)

I figured it would be.

LadyPact -> RE: The Ultimate Season Six thread for The Walking Dead (3/31/2016 1:44:54 PM)

Hi, my name is Pact and I'm a "The Walking Dead" addict.

(The rooms says "hi Pact".)

My TWD addiction started right here on these boards. There was a post here years ago about AMC doing a holiday (US holiday) weekend marathon of seasons one and two, and everybody was talking about how good the show was, so I gave it a shot. I was hooked. From there, I became a Sunday night watcher for season three. Bought the first two compendiums of the comics, which I read in no time flat. Read those over again after compendium three came out, which I'm thinking takes a person through at least the beginning of season eight.

Sometimes... <hangs head> I even cave and read spoilers about the show on the internet.
