PS

You can bet that if there was any THC content of note in industrial hemp, the sailors would have taken to stuffing patches of sail and bits of rope into their pipe when they ran out if rum and beer.

Point being that alcohol always has and always will come first, no matter the THC content of whatever else.

Hell, the Mayflower pulled over only because they were out of beer.

I would rather be in a crowd of stoners than a crowd of drinkers.
But I dont like crowds anyway.
Glue sniffing took a lot of kids thru the gateway faster than grass did when I was young.
But booze was the precursor.Canada goes legal in the summer. I read this a while ago, I dont know what has been added or taken away since the article. it is from september and has province by province differences.

Is second hand smoke from marijuana as harmful as cigarettes? I know the smell stinks as bad as cigarettes. It's air pollution.

Leave it up to me, I'd banned both. Tobacco and marijuana. Leave them for medical use, and that's it, if there is medical benefits.

I mean morphine has medical uses too.

And the point about Netherlands not having alot of heavy drug users with pot.

Different nationalities, different culture, different problems. US already got such a giant drug problem without legalization before.

So..., I believe the progress from soft drugs into hard drugs will increase specifically in the US when marijuana is legal.

Just to point out, if you burn dried lawn grass, it smells just like marijuana smoke. lol

Pot smokers generally don't shoot each other, or rip off everything in sight to get high.
Crack heads and tweakers do.

Stupid is as stupid does.

You don't get the point about legalization/prohibition.

Prohibition increases the price drastically, and so incentivisation is far more on the supply end than the demand end.

A) It is not difficult to get ahold of whatever one wants, regardless of legality. B) obviously the great majority do not have use for it and don't want it. All prohibition does is to increase price for the relatively few who want it. It also increases crime, because then only criminals will operate the enterprise, and some small percent of users who didn't make their way to figuring out it's not good for them might resort to crime because of the artificially inflated price.

Even then, even our sensationalist media haven't yet reported a burglary or mugging by someone to support their "marijuana addiction."

Do you drink?

Hard to take when someone calls your religious crap isn't it. You have no trouble following your God when he reinforces your homophobia but heaven forbid, tongue in cheek , when he prohibits your fun with drugs and alcohol. Why Why...God has no right to say what you put in your body...you tell him. Hypocrite

Society, think they can dictate women as not worthy of such choice
And that means Birth Control AS WELL as abortion

I daresay: someone being against fetuscide isn't necessarily against birth control.

Of course, I'm against paying for either with my taxes, but:

Here's the search

assuming, given your vehement pro-abortion stance, youre talking about abortion here, why does it have to keep being pointed out to that when there is ANOTHER body involved, its right for the law to protect it, especially when it is both innocent and voiceless.

are you not capable of grasping that and dealing honestly with the issue?

Butch

theres really no such thing as a "potential" life.

there is just "life."

if people are unclear on the issue, then we do well to land on the side that gives the benefit of the doubt to it.

It was me that put that thought our there not Lucy...although I do believe this was her intention I am not a mind reader... But I think it is reasonable to pick a time limit when abortion is not killing a formed human anymore than you jacking a load of semen on the ground. Or do you follow the Bible on that as well? You do know that your God may put you to death for doing it don't you?

Butch

you are completely misrepresenting what was/is called "onanism."

and for the umpteenth time with people---please learn the relationship between the old testament and the new testament.

you are also misrepresenting what the bible means by "defilement."

Except the law states abortion is legal. For a reason.

Sorry, Not Sorry.
Your religious beliefs mean you can disregard the womans rights????, not in law.

I have a drink now and then. But, the Bible does not ban drinking. The last time I imbibed alcohol, I had 3 double shots of whiskey (one each of 3 different brands) over the course of 2 hours. That was last Thursday. In case you're wondering, the Jameson's Irish Whiskey was the most rough going down. The Seagram's 7 Crown was much smoother, but the Crown Royal Black was like silk. I was surprised at how similar they all tasted, with smoothness being the only real difference. Before that? I think it's been a couple months, and that time I had 3 beers (one 12oz bottle of each) over the course of a night; a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (delicious), a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout (my all-time second favorite), and a Dragon's Milk (my all-time favorite; another bourbon barrel aged stout). All 3 of those beers come in 4-packs, and I've probably purchased 32 bottles total, since March 2017. As of right now, I still have 7 bottles (3 BB Ale and 2 each of the other 2). I've also had, probably 6-8 glasses of wine since March 2017, too. All alcohol was consumed in the privacy of my own home because 1. it's too expensive at a bar, and 2. I have no desire to risk being pulled over after being seen driving away from a bar.

I'm not homophobic. I have no fear of homosexuals.

What "fun" do I have with drugs? Any "drugs" I take are for pain mediation for arthritis, and are either OTC (like chondroitin- glucosamine supplements, Tylenol, a mutli-vitamin, or I have a prescription for (mobic, and one for GIRD). I also take an OTC allergy medication (loratidine). Sooo, what "fun with drugs" am I having?

I've already stated that I do not smoke pot, but I had smoked it a handful of times in the past (over 2 decades ago). And, I've already stated that if Ohio fully legalized pot, I still wouldn't smoke it. I'll even state that I have zero interest in ingesting THC into my body for recreational purposes, but do will not limit myself from its potential medicinal benefits in the future. I have no need or desire to ingest THC (so you can't accuse me of planning on eating edibles since I only said I don't/wouldn't "smoke pot").

Please quote the Scriptures where it bans drinking alcohol. I know you won't, just like you won't quote the scripture regarding defiling one's body or jacking off.

And, do tell how any "fun" I've having with "drugs and alcohol" are banned in the Bible.

Good luck with that, btw.

You do know that pot is supposed to be brilliant for treating arthritis, I hope? There was a story over here a few years back about some old dear who'd found that skunk was a lot more help with her knees and fingers than her medication, and was arrested for growing the stuff for the rest of her knitting circle. It's an excellent muscle relaxant, but an unpatented one, which seems to be the main stumbling block for most of the medical research that's been done.

I'm in favor of the legalization (and taxation) of marijuana. But I think that unless and until research proves otherwise, secondhand smoke should be treated the same as secondhand cigarette smoke.

Legalization leads to regulation, quality control, and a better informed consumer.

Very true. I'm dubious that secondhand smoke (either dope or tobacco) is quite as catastrophic as the sort of secondhand drunk you get when some pissed up cunt who shouldn't be driving kills or cripples somebody, though.
As for taxation, the money they could make from legalising and taxing dope (which is not insignificant by any stretch of the imagination) is nothing next to what they could get from farming cocaine and heroin domestically and slapping VAT on it, and they'd be able to stop funding the Islamists if the junkies and nose powderers weren't paying people who were getting their stuff from the middle east as well...

Desi,

Edibles are actually easier on the system than smoking anyway. And anyone interested in the medical benefits of marijuana needs to do their homework before making a purchase, just like with any medication.

For me, that's the best part. I can look online and find the perfect strains for the problems I have, and find out about the potential side-effects of them. Florida still doesn't quite have it's shit together concerning medical marijuana; our legislators are assholes.

Since the majority of my medical issues stem from a wreck with a drunk driver, I can't argue with that first statement. But my statement is still true. The DUI laws still have to apply to anyone driving under the influence of anything, be it alcohol, weed, opioids, or whatever, and a suitable method of testing is required.

As for your second point, I think that would just fuck up everything the CIA's been doing for the last 50+ years.

Good point about the CIA thing, I was forgetting they get most of their money from the drugs trade. I'm astonished that the DUI laws in the states don't apply to anything besides alcohol, though.
