So, what is you alltime favorite handle that someone thought up?

Vargus -> RE: Does a persons nic have anything to do with whether or not you respond/contact them? (10/16/2006 11:55:03 PM)

I'll definately checkout someone's profile if their nic is unusual or makes me laugh. However, most of the time my reason for contacting someone is based upon what they have written in the forums or in their profiles. If I think I can learn something from them.

Here is the origins of "mugwump", lol.

Dictionaries often give the provenance of "mugwump" as a corruption of "mugguomp," a word from the native Algonquin language, meaning "person of importance" or "war leader.

The Mugwumps were a political movement comprised of Republicans who supported Democratic candidate Grover Cleveland in the United States presidential election of 1884.

But I absolutely will not respond to guys that describe themselves as sexy or gorgeous or whatever, I just find that to be ridiculously pompous.

uh, .... kinda like youngtempest ?  [:)][:)]

Just out of curiosity... does the nicname a person chooses here have anything to do with whether or not you will contact them? Or if they contact you first, does it have anything to do with whether or not you'll reply?

Nics do have something to do with me responding....but if the emails are decent...I will still look at the profile and then decide if I will respond or not....
I think a little forethought on a nic is a good thing.....I picked mine for a reason....if I get an email that says..."so why are you rude"...I know they don't have the intellect I seek in a man.....but if they say...." so how smart are you"...or...."what books have you read"....then they know the definition and have an IQ above 1.....or have a dictionary at least....

Yes.

I'm more inclined to respond to anyone who seems to have a "real" name as opposed to a fetish or a body part in their nick.

More importantly, if a note to me isn't signed with a real name (not a full name, just some real first name) I find it difficult to take someone seriously.

I mean really, I'm pretty out, if someone can't at least give me a name to use could they handle that? Plus I'm not in Ds space with I talk with folks online or in email. Not giving me a name feels like a rejection of the fact that I want to talk as two people, two equals.

I have to agree, someone who has put a little thought into their name will automatically interest me. I want someone who has thought it all out and wants to say something about themselves without having to have sub or slave in their nick.

Let's take your profile name, for instance.  You're an assistant at Mistress at the Academy for Slaves?  Please, do tell us something about that.

There's no piece of information on a profile that I don't notice.  I'd never respond to someone with a hateful nick, but I'm much more likely to take notice of someone who has given themselves a nick with personality or literary panache.  Much as I love a slave who's pretty, talented, strong or tall--being well-endowed between the ears is even more attractive.

WickedlyDevine -> RE: Does a persons nic have anything to do with whether or not you respond/contact them? (10/18/2006 6:18:02 PM)

A nic  has a lot to do with whether I respond or not.  It says a lot about the person, intended or not.  I will only view their profile if their name appeals to me, or they write me, even then  I don't open certain emails from less than desireable names. Photos are another huge one for me, overly done glam shots are total bs, I like real photos of real peeps doing real things.....or at least a photo of what I would like done to me :p

marieToo -> RE: Does a persons nic have anything to do with whether or not you respond/contact them? (10/18/2006 6:23:38 PM)

Sex names turn me off like nothing else.  For instance....   "ClitMaster" or "Cum4Me".

michaelGA2 -> RE: Does a persons nic have anything to do with whether or not you respond/contact them? (10/18/2006 6:31:17 PM)

well, i thought about going with "brat_attack" but i didn't want to be overwhelmed with emails...LOL
