Alex,

I am on alt.com since 5 years and i ve never had any of those messages, it s true that you have less possibilities if you are not a "gold" or "silver" member but you can do such things as chatting, seeing webcam (in rooms); looking profile (someting like 15 a day).

Anyway i think that there is a good part of players everywhere.Do you really think that there is so many people who are interested in SM? I m not quiet sure those person are all "real".

I have a much more favorable impression of today's "Scene" after reading through this thread than I did before I started. I saw something in the community I rarely saw before. The discussion has managed to unite men and women; dominants and submissives; sadists and masochists; professionals and amateurs; Goreans and ... regular people; conservatives, liberals, and progressives.

This unhead of unity is based on one crucial point: the simple ability to smell bullshit.

If my marketing techniques seem crude, it is only because I do not wish to attract a surge of members, This is not my goal. We seek to attract members who will participate and add to the organization.

I'm not quite seeing how Claire's questions were answered. How nice of you to thank her for asking them but I'm not getting why they weren't actually ever answered. Surely there are some qualifications and background requirements that are followed to determine that the people being labeled "Guardian" should be since their deemed responsible for others. What are those protocals? Simple question that should have an equally simplistic answer.

This is what I found most offensive...I had to wait an hour to calm down enough not to explode.

I've volunteered and run suicide crisis hotlines for years, grief counselor for almost 20 years dealing specifically with the survivors of suicide as well as been an on call victim's advocate for rape cases. Let me explain to you how these pay sites work (such as Bondage.com or Alt.com...I've only tried one, 3 weeks, it was enough of an embarrassment to and for me and I have zero interest, as a male sub, to ever try such a service again....but I digress...).

#1, they sign you up. You get a bill.

#2, you're psyched...this could be it...you could end up meeting your dream girl here. #3, You type some remarkably witty stuff (well, you do after 3 beers, 9 weeks, 41 re-writes, and 11 very sly phone calls to your ex Domme..."so tell me...what exactly did you find most appealing about me?....no really. Really?", and within only moments, you feel like Hemingway).

So here's what actually happens (for you women that really don't know...and for you men that are about to plunk down your hard earned coin...):

I sent an ad out. It was a while back. Alt.com. Very innocuous. Simple, direct, exactly who I am, what I sought, how tall I was, what kind of skateboard I rode...that kind of thing.

I got back an email that started off with "was just reading some of the personal ads and I have to tell you, yours struck me...it's exactly what I've been looking for for a very long time".

And another "WOW!!!! I can't believe I've lasted this long...you really hit home on my issues. Can we talk?"

Still more "GAWD....it's like a fucking desert here sometimes. Where have you been? Do you live near ____ at all?"

Now all these emails happened within less than 40 minutes. There were dozens of them. Granted, it was clear within less than 5 emails, I was barely moments away from finding my one true and only.

However, I eventually thought this was at least odd (I have a complete grasp of the whole "I'm a guy, so that pretty much puts me at 2 - 4 responses...she'll get 631"). Then I started to notice a pattern in the emails. I began to suspect a bit of a con going on.

So I decided to change my profile/ad.

I then said "I'm 5/10, green eyes, successful, nice home, quiet acreage...I love animals, my favorite thing to do with them is to tie them up by their hooves, hook them to a ceiling fan, sing them a lullabye and then scream out as loud as I can "I never wanted to participate in this current administration...why the fuck are you involving me?"

That brought me the following responses:

1) "I was just reading some of the personal ads and I have to tell you, yours struck me...it's exactly what I've been looking for for a very long time".

2) "WOW!!!! I can't believe I've lasted this long...you really hit home on my issues. Can we talk?"

"Hi. I've searched a long time. I'm (then 42), don't you occasionally just feel like 'I'm fucking done with this shit!!!...This is just way the fuck too hard'...and then you give it one more shot. Just one.

You want this as much as I do, I know you do...I have to believe it, because I want it so very much. I want someone that wants all this as much as I.

I hate Jews. I like to find people who clearly have no purpose in life, then fuck them over as best as I can, and...when they have nothing left, I like to kick them in the nuts. My preference is, of course, to continue until they bleed from their ears.

Haven't you ever wanted to take someone who you've hated you're entire fucking life, and throw them into the jarring maw of a stainless steel wheat combine?

If you're that girl, please contact me....my Mother would love to meet you."

And here's what I got as responses:

I"ve had great luck on collarme meeting subs/slaves though haven't picked one yet.
I"ve had great luck on alt (more recently) meeting subs/slaves though haven't picked one yet.
I certainly haven't mistreated anyone.
I have to wonder, however, if you read the rules on ALT. It states very clearly that you're not allowed to post a website or email address until at least two emails have passed between you and a prospect or you will be banned from ALT, no questions asked. So perhaps you got bumped from ALT for your emails? Just a thought.
