Hi there sKB:

Well, i haven't found a solution per se, but, i found a way to reduce the burn- i use the Noxema 3 blade razor and shaving gel. i discovered that the biggest prob i that i held the blade at the wrong angle, tearing up my skin essentially...... but the 3 blade and the gel, not cream seem to work, and i shave every other day.

My skin has always been sensitive, so i can't shave every day, but that's ok, for now.

Thanks for all of the helpful info!

cheers,

rain

I have been having the same problem myself. And I do use a brand new blade everytime and still end up with unsightly bumps. Also going with the grain NEVER gets me smooth. I think maybe I am one of those that just was not meant to shave being a red head with very sensitive skin.

Has anyone tried one of those new shavers that looks about the size of a fat pen? Uses batteries. Advertisement says it's safe for bikini area.
My hair dresser waxes my brows. She said she had done bikini waxes, but had had NO repeat customers. Apparently, it's QUITE painful.

I've used that on my mustache area and eye brows, works well, haven't tried it yet down below. I got the "as seen on tv" one.

I get my bikini area waxed about once a month. I could NEVER imagine shaving again as I get horrible razor burn like many women. The key to a good wax job is finding an experienced person to do it, don't do it w/in a few days before or after your period, take a few ibuprophin a couple hours beforehand, and take a shower careful to really lather the hair so it softens. During a good wax job the 'artist' will have you flip over as well (a little invasive but worth it to get it ALL off). And whatever you do, DON'T SHAVE BETWEEN WAXINGS! Good luck y'all!

i have recently bought the "Intuition" razor and it is wonderful for all body hair. now i can shave everyday without a rash. and is very hard to cut yourself with. this is the razor that you don't use any shaving cream or anything with. a little water and that's it. the cartridges are triple blade & are surrounded by the conditioning solid, so when water hits it will lather. has refills for sensitive skin(w/aloe,cocoa butter & vit. e). and you just rinse off the blade and don't have to worry about changing it all the time. they last a long time. i will shave with the growth and then against every day. best 7.99 this one ever invested in.

good luck!

Hi there

Another excellent way to shave is to use just plain old baby powder or any type of bath power... shake lots on covering area (you do this on dry skin) then shave away! I swear this works and no rash, and.... ya smell good too!

sub4hire,

Sorry for the confusion, you didn't say to use a dull blade, HOWEVER, i was told by my room mate or someone else, that i should...that's what i meant.

i recently picked up the Noxema triple blades and some shaving gel, so, i'll see what happens.

Thanks all, again, for the advice!

~rain~

Believe it or not I swear by the Venus Razor, since Master requires me to be smoothly shaven at all times I had trouble at first with the bumps too...but as soon as I bought this razor the bumps disappeared. I haven't nicked myself yet (*Knock on wood*), shaving even the most sensitive areas.
Hope that helps!

I just tried the Nair Bikini Creme (it comes in a "vanilla smoothie" scent) and it worked great. I only used it on the areas where I typically get bumps: where my inner thighs meet the pubic area, and the very top of the pubic area. For those areas more "down under" I still use the 3-blade razor. I tried the Venus razors but don't like the pivoting head. Aren't those Intuition razors kind of big to shave in that area?

Anyway, this bikini creme did not burn, did not smell horrible, and worked in 3-5 minutes. Left everything very very smooth . . .

Waxing is fine for me too - doesn't hurt at all - but releases TONS of endorphians - the drive time is GREAT! LOL.

My waxer told me the issue in regard to pain and waxing is all dependant on the type of hair and how the follicle holds onto the root ball, and if the root ball is round or oval. All my hair is very very fine and straight, and my hair slides right out of the follicle. She tells me some folks have a terrible terrible time of it, usually those with coarse think hair, or really tight curls, and of course a root ball is round like a little pearl.

But I find it rather enjoyable actually, considering there isn't really anything I'd consider calling pain, and I get it ALL removed, every bit of it (except on the inner side of the outer labias, no good waxer will wax that - skin's too thin) it sure releases endorphians like I'd had a 5 hour scene LOL. And yeah - I tip VERY well, LOL!

i feel your pain...ihave had the same problem myself, a couple of things have helped. First of all, i have found that a men's razor like a mach 3 works much much better then a woman's razor (ie venus). Also, shaving with a pattern of two strokes with the grain followed by one stroke against has helped. Lastly, i have noticed since i have been going to a tanning bed, the problem all but disappeared even if i use a bad razor purely against the grain. Hope this helps you.

So I meet this submissive friend who wants me to tie her up and give her a brazilian waxing.

Im thinking "ok, I can work with that"

Just me, could be wrong.

i started the laser hair removal for the hair in my bikini area a while ago because of the exact reasons rain is frustrated with shaving. It wasn't cheap (around $700 for the entire process) but let me tell you.. It's bald, no shaving, no waxing, no stubble, no nothing. I'd recommend it to anyone, just call your dermatologist and ask them for a recommendation!

try coco butter after you've shaved. or use nair. if that doesn't work, just trimm instead of shaving, because pubs are natural lube and if you're overfucking with no pubes, of course it's gonna hurt, you have no lube.

Greetings,

i'm sure other folks have had this problem as well. i shave my pubic hair every other day or so, but no matter what i do, (or use) i always get bad razor burn. My skin is so so sensitive....i've been told that if i continut to shave every day, my skin will become accustomed to it and it will get easier, HOWEVER, this has continued for the past 2 months with no relief in sight.

i have tried waxing, and that turned out badly b/c my skin erupted into what looked like hives for about 3 days afterwards! i have tried using various types of razors, shaving cream, conditioner, and i even use aloe vera on my skin afterwards...but i still suffer, for days at a time, terrible razor burn.

Anyone have some suggestions? Tired of being burned!

~rain~

Has any woman here tried Nads? That is the natural hair removal product developed by an Australian mother for her daughter. I guess making her lunch wasn't enough. I saw the ad on tv and it reminded me of this thread.

I tried the Magic powder today, and must say I am very happy with it. It is messy, but works very well.

Never tried Nads. Really have not heard a lot about it. Seen it however. May look into it if the Magic thing presents aproblem over the next couple days. But for now, I am sold on Magic.
