I have tried Nads, though not in the region that we're discussing here. The primary problem with it is that they recommend the hair be 1/4" long before using Nads -- that's a lot of growth for legs etc.! Also, it removes some of the hair, but not all.

It is only slightly less painful than waxing, and not nearly as effective as it appears on TV.

Don't give up hope. If the FDA doesn't get in the way, but because of the 8 billion dollar a year shaving industry it just might, relief is on the way.

There is a topical lotion that is in phase IV trials that uses an enzyme to break apart the hair at the molecular level. It actually cuts the protein between specific amino acids. These enzymatic scissors will do away with shaving forever. That is of course if the FDA doesn’t bend to the pressures of Gillette and other monster conglomerates. Even if they are able to withhold the approval for a little while, it is going to happen inside or outside of the US, enzymatic shaving will be the norm within a few years.

I know this doesn’t help much at the moment and I know your pain, as I have been an athlete required to shave and suffer or not shave and suffer. Hmm, but then again, nobody was reddening my ass if I didn’t shave…

(a side bar to this… I prefer my sub to have a neatly trimmed mound rather than completely shaven. Something that is just hidden under her very tiny bikinis but not completely removed. It just looks sexier to me to see a little dark hair while she is kneeling. But to each their own)

I shave daily and I never have razor burn. Does everyone have a different hair type? May sound odd but its a question. I do nothing but make sure I have the extremely sharp razor. No shaving cream but regular bar soap. No aftercare so to speak. Nothing.

After shaving(inthe same direction as hair grows) rub on anti-perspirant. A trick I learned from Dancers. Works everytime.

shaving fequently about twice a week for 3 year but nearly every day for the last year and i still get grown in hair and spot like infections if i shave every day, now as i live with my master i don't want to reduce shaving to every second or third day but guess would be best for the infections

. but then go with stubble?? that stupid hair grows mucht oo fast even with a good 4 bladed razor. oh and shaving with thedirectiont he hair grows don't work i think cause that leaves lots of stubble, i only do that when master is away to give the skin a break.

ahh I should look more often into this forum! I have the same problems as mentioned here, a terrible rash and razor burn every time I shave and that needs to be like every other day. Now I will try some of your suggestions.

for some reason this feels like a strange place for me to stick my first post, but oh well :).

A few people already mentioned the gilette mach 3 razor as being great for shaving, and it's really quite good compared to most other razors. Room at the rear of the blade head for hair to collect and slide off, good coverage, etc. I can still sometimes manage to nick myself when shaving my face with the regular mach 3 though. The rather scary looking mach3 power with the little vibrating blades is far superior in my experience. I've been using one for about a month and haven't managed to nick myself yet, even when I'm too tired to see straight :).

For the curious, the razor has a little slide off chamber that goes over the AAA battery in the handle. A pretty sturdy looking rubber seal protects the battery from me shaving in the shower without seeming to affect it. The vibrating itself is rather subtle and not powerful enough to cause the blades/razor to jump around... it was damn scary using it the first time though :P

i have sensitive skin also... what has worked for me is the venus razor... and shaving cream.... for me i can not shave in the tub... i lay flat on my bed..... i take a hot wash cloth... and leave it on me until it cools... this softens your hair... then use the shaving cream .... always use a sharp razor blade.... for me this works.. and no more burns for me

Greetings~

I wax and shave. I use to get them awful bumps also as well as a few ingrown hairs. The best thing I have found is a product called RX Factor. I found it at Sally's Beauty Supply. I would suggest also using Almond oil. It helps to open the pours. Baby oil can clog pours causing ingrown hairs.

I have not tried the Mach3 power, but I'd be terrified of running a vibrating razor over my balls.

i had the venus razor, kept cutting myself down there and sometimes cut half my knees off to so i changed and got the quatro mens one now, not sure if that would be wilkinsons or gillette, but it's new, got four blades and some metal grid in front of the blades so i cut myself less but managed to take 4 slices off in one go on my ancle, OUCH!!!! also i found the head of the venus was too big for th pubic area and you can't reach everywhere as the blades don't go to the edges of the head.

i used that trick with the antiperspirant before, i could never shave under my arms without getting infections but on the pubic area i don't use that trick as i think it leaves a layer on the skin and for playing, especially for with needles that won't be good i think and since i never know when and what we'll be playing i just don't do it anymore.

I keep reading all these posts about the high tech approach to hair removal.

Im a guy, so I have hair growing out of my ears and nose, and the genetics to have a unibrow.

To avoid this, I periodically pull out my Leatherman tool, open it to the pliers, and start ripping all the hair out of the places I dont need it.

I suppose if I wanted to go the smooth shaven approach I could pull my pubic hair out, but I might slip and rip out Mr. Tiny and then where would I be?

There is some really great advice here from all who posted! But I'll throw my two cents worth in here too.. Hopefully you will find the combination of what works best for you. :)

I use a Shick Quatro, yes 4 blades. Make sure the razor is new, and don't use it anywhere else, like your pits and legs. You also need to make sure that you soak the area for a while in warm water and apply some conditioner. The conditioner softens the hair and slicks up the skin. I also don't press hard with the razor, lightly drag it over a small area, one stroke and rinse. Applying baby powder afterwards also helps.

I alternate shavings with LINEANCE hair removal cream.. The smell leaves a lot to be desired, but it seems to work better than the bikini zone Nair I tried. It also has a lotion that you apply after hair removal that smells nice and feels great.

Avon has gotten in on the act as well with a new line of Skin So Soft hair removal lotions, hair minimizing lotion, and a do it yourself wax kit. I've been using the hair minimizing lotion and it seems to soften it up pretty well.. When I get brave enough to try the do it yourself wax I'll let you know..

Funny you should ask that question! i am still having probs with ingrown hairs on the inside of my thighs, so yesterday, in a last ditch effort to avoid razor burn, (went to a play party last night, didn't want unslightly razor burn) i used Nair in mousse form- while it was extremely messy, it was very effective for removing pubic hair, i covered almost the entire area, except for the actual labia, though the mousse dripped there as well, and had NO probs! i left it on for about 10 mins, and used a warm wash cloth to wipe it down. i was very pleased with the results!

i do have sensitive skin, and the Nair did burn a bit, closer to my vagina, but i rinsed very very well, and it was fine.

Thank you rain. I used Nair for my bikini line and upper area of pubes but was afraid to go very low with it. The results were good.

I've learned to do a few things that help with razor burn. 1.) Shave at the very end of the shower or bath (the hair will have had the maximum amount of time to soften in the water) 2.) As others have mentioned, use a new, sharp razor and either shaving cream or conditioner. 3.) On my mound, I first shave with the grain, then shave sideways (instead of against the grain). For me, this gives a smoother result with less chance of razor burn. 4.) After toweling off, I apply a little lotion (I use Mary Kay - but I'm sure she'd blush at the thought), or in a pinch, dilluted conditioner.

I hope you have the same good results that I do. Good luck.

i started again with the antiperspirant, seems fine so far but it dont like how the skin feels with the stuff on it. doesn't stop some ingrown hair btu keeps infections away. what the hell is nair??
