My insurance won't pay either and the doctor was sure they would. They are evil.

the insurance issue is based up the body and mass ratio....basically it is dependant upont eh amount the doctor says she is goignt o removed  abotu 750mg per side is ususally teh minu=imal amount to be covered by insurance  the amount o have a reduction is 9k per boob for the surgeon alone....and well keep the record of the treatment and just becasu ethey turn you downt the first time...then you turn around and ask for a review again...show the medical rtreatment you have been through becasue of the back pain...the skin irritations...take pictures  after all the spring is coming so is the skin rashes....then you take an actual picture of yourself no bra with your tah tahs hanging down to your public hairline...ever hear the saying a picture is worth a thousand words...and i know that losing weight isnt goignt o change the size of your boobs not one iota...but well lose a bit of weight if you can...that way if you are down to 165 or 170 and you are saying hey  i have 34 G or H  and make sure that you get sized...becasue you sayign you are a 34DD or F  isnt very intimdating to them...if you say you are a 36 I or J that shows them...Yes I knwo that you cannot just walk into any place and buy a bra that size off the shelf  Im looking for the supply company i used to usewhen i was a 38 H  but all it takes is one well fitting bra to show the real mc coy...right now you are wedging the girls into the equivalent of a girdle.  if you have a bras that fits well it will also help your back and breastst feel far more comfortable...I would give anything to have my girls back...

In my case it wasn't based on anything having to do with me. The insurence company simply informed us that they didn't cover reductative surgery at all.

Evil bas^ards... come to Canada, and claim refugee status. Then whatever province's healthcare will fund it.

Seriously though, I feel your pain... the women of my family are well endowed in the chest area. Luckily, I'm not so 'blessed' , and don't have the pain problems (yet....). Just make sure you take care of yourself post-op!!!

Best wishes,

Mikal

if you check your insurance coverage  you can see if in fact it is not coverage...my insurance actually doesnt cover ingrowned toe nails nor TMJ   but well anything else is open for despute....so unless it says nothing about breast reduction specifically  write a letter of reconcideration based on medical necessity  and f they continue todecline to cover it...ask them for specific  and ask them to contact your attorney..a great deal of the time an attourn isnt necessary  just the appearance is enough to get things going

I'll get my folks to check into that. I am covered under their plan still. Thanks!

i long for my girls....but alas they went bad and had to go.... I was a G-H cup and well anytime you are that large anything else is little.   I'm a C ish right now....and boy do i miss the girls.

I would also recommend having a agreement with the plastic surgeon prior tot he surgery...trust me after being used to being as large as you are...goign to a c cup you will seem intensely tiny....and well basically my advice is to take an honest look at your figure...take a tape measurement    if you have a 45 insh butt then you are goign to want to have a 45 inch bust....regardless of what your waiste is...womens bodys are supposed to be hourglasses even  meaning the top and the bottoms are supposed to be similar  regardless of the  middel  measurement.

if you have any questions i have tons of information of breast reduction questions and information and well i can let you in on some extra issues that you may no have thought of...

little things like do not do a free nipple technique...you will lose your nipple sensation forever dont do it...if a doctor cant do it with the stalk intact then you need to look for a new doctor!!  just send me a note on the other side and i will share with you

I have found my family!  I second all of the people with the Lane Bryant bras.  You can get those in pretty colors and that makes me happy.  I don't have back pain (yet).  I find that when I loose weight (and I'm trying) the band size goes down which makes the cup size go up (since the cup size is just the difference between the band and your breasts).  Many women in my family have had breast reduction.  A good surgeon will tell you whether or not you breasts have a lof of fatty tissue.  If so, they'll tell you to loose weight.  If not, you're a candidate for the reduction surgery.  My aunt had about 6 pounds total taken out and she's down to a D cup.  One thing she said is that many times your insurance (if you've got back pain like her) will pay for the reduction, but *not* for the little bit of lyposuction normally needed right on the side to make it not look like you have two litle bobbies under your arms.  It's weird I know.  Thanks again for all the information everyone!

Ya' know... I'm glad I found this thread... Just last night I was looking in the mirror, wishing I could at least be a full A cup, then maybe I could shop for bras in somewhere other than the little girls department... But I read this thread, and at the moment, I'm more than happy with my 32 AAs  Oh well, at least they're making little girls "pretty" bras now... I can feel all grown up

Aww... I don't know why but this reminds me of a time I went shopping with a friend. She's not small just a moderate B-C cup. We were at one of those huge stores that sells everything from clothes and food to tires and toys.

We walked by some of the underthings and I saw a bra laying on the floor. I picked it up and it was so small compared to what I wear that I immediately remarked, "Aww, look! It's a cute little training bra!"

My friend immediately glowered at me and said "Aqua, that's my size."

I like breasts the way nature provided them to the person.

Big ones, small ones, whatever.

I tend to not be too crazy about surgically enhanced ones.  They dont jiggle right during aerobics.

I can understand reducing their size; saves money on back issues later in life.

i can relate...i am barely an A myself!

But in my medical career i did mammograms and many women were overly endowed and would confide in me the difficulties they had. So i feel for you Aqua and wish you the best with any resolution you should choose ~

I have the same problem.  I thought for most of my adult life I was a 36 D.  It was uncomfortable and I constantly had to adjust my bra in one place or another. Salvation came when one day I saw an episode of Oprah that claimed 80% of women in the US wear the wrong bra size. It was really insightful.  I went to the store and it turned out I was a 34DD.  You are supposed to get all of your support from the band, not the straps.  The band is supposed to be a little above your elbow (with your arms at your sides).  It changed alot for me!  Go down a band size and up a cup size!

I did this too.. from a 36C  to a 34 D. In fact they fit so well that I wonder sometimes if bra sizing has changed like clothing sizes have.

I will tel you that when i had my suregery   a double removal...  the left boob weighed in at 910gms   and the right was 1015gm...  so if it is 2.2 lbs per kg  someone do the arithmatic...but the catch is this not all breasts are created equal....some breasts such as mine were very firm and fibrous  I was a 38G-H depending ont he bra manufactureer..

I will tell you that the only way to keep those girls and yout shouldeers and back supported properly is to buy the good bra....forget the fashion statement... a pretty bra just will not keep them int he right spot and keep the twins supported....

a good fitting bra doesnt need the shoulder strap to keep it up....while i understand your wish of a reduction...int he mean time...find a lindere shop that cares to womna...macy;s and what not do have fitters...but honestly they arent as knowledgeable as those that work with mastectomy woman such as myself...

I would highly recommned the goddess 106   it is the ugliest granny kind of bra  but it keeps the girls up and off the shoulders...  stay away from bali  and victorias secret they are good up to about a  thirty eight D.  if you send me an email  I will send you the names and style of those that i used to wear back when i had the twin towers upon my chest

These aren't sexy, but they have to be the most comfortable bras on the planet, and they are supportive.  I'm not going to go into detail, but suffice it to say that I'm pretty far up the alphabet in cup size.   I can't find pretty bras in my size, and I despise underwires.  I haven't worn an underwire bra since I found this company.
