My absolute favorite kinky book is The Leather Daddy and the Femme by Carol Queen. However, I also agree with votes for the Kushiel's Legacy series, which is an excellent light fantasy / alternate Rennaisance storyline; and the Marketplace books, which read much like they were written by someone who has been in a kink community for several years. I proudly admit to being a Laurel K. Hamilton fan, and while her books are steamy and have a BDSM thread running through them, it's more rough sex than actual kink. Also, if you're the sort of person who is thrown my typos, you may want to only go for paperbacks in these -- the rush to get her now NY Times Bestselling novels on the shelves has apparently given her husband, reading group and editor far less time to actually make presentable. (Indeed, her publisher recently had a contest to allow winners to edit one of her manuscripts. glee!)

I'll second that !Leather Daddy and The Femme is a really great book.....has all kinds of great kink,fast read,diverse,and VERY erotic! Good choice! Love The Marketplace series too. Lots of great reads available.......

Am I the only one who got disappoitned with the Anita Blake series four or so novels back when they became less about vampires and werewolves and more about who gets to fuck Anita tonight? I love reading and writing erotica, but even for me that just smacked of a bit of arrogance and pandering. I stopped reading them :(

And just check out amazon.com for the reviews on the latest ones to see. There's a theory that she got all her good stuff from her ex-husband and once they divorced, she lost all the talent.

My all-time favorite book is "Carried Away" by slave david stein. It can be bought on amazon.com. Can't say enough good things about it...in fact I think I'll start reading it again. Don't let the size fool you, it's a quick read. So hot and such good story.

ScreamerGirl, I never really got into the other books, I did, however enjoy Brian Lumley's necromancer series. I used to read a lot more, don't have much time for it now and I have about 4 books started. Psy

Thanks everyone for your suggestions & comments [:)]. I'm happy to say that I've ordered the Marketplace series (The Slave, The Trainer, and The Reunion). I also noticed that the author has edited otherbooks... is anyone familiar with Leatherwomen (published 1993)? It's listed on Amazon.ca, but there is no synopsis or reader comments. [&:] PsyVamp - I already have Narcissus in Chains... I had it pre-ordered asap [8D]. However, I agree with LA and ScreamerGirl in that Hamilton's storyline seems to have disintigrated into sexual goo. The Fey series seems to be fairing somewhat better, but there aren't as many of them (yet...). I figure I'll give 'em one more shot, then I'll wait until the local library gets them in. IF the books get better, I'll buy them again. If not... well, they were good while they lasted. [:D] novicecourtesan - I can't seem to find Opus Pistorium. I have found books by a Henry Miller (Tropic of Cancer, Sexus, Black Spring, etc.); is this the same author? If not, do you happen to have the book and its ISBN # ? I'm very fond of Kushiel's dart myself. I can't wait to read the rest of it. Phaedre is strong willed and assertive, but totally masochistic at the same time. She's far more positive a role model than say, O.
