i used to be a hardcore mud player. like, 12 hrs. a day hardcore. when i played, i was actually "owned" in-game by the guy i was married to, in-game. he never took my kills or anything though :P on the contrary, he used to buy me extra skills, artifacts, and stuff, and let me follow him around leeching his exp.

i recently bought wow and was way disappointed. i've considered going back to the muds i used to play, but i always suffer from lack of time to play and good old days syndrome...

luckily, He's not a gamer in any way shape or form, so i don't have to worry about Him stealing my kills ;)

tangldupinblue -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 12:17:42 PM)

i had friend who got stuck in Mudd...i asked him what he rememebered first...food or girls......he said girls they could have food delivered

Llyren -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 3:37:04 PM)

I identify as a gaming geek first and foremost.  I probably always will.  I can't imagine being involved with someone who isn't also a gamer.  Someone who wouldn't understand that I need just five more minutes to finish this fight, or who stares blankly at me when I start talking about wanting to pk that nitwit who swiped my sword.  Right now I play a text-based MUD, though a friend is trying to get me to play WoW.  I can't afford it at the moment, but it looks interesting.  Some friends and I are also working on putting together a Serenity campaign.  Browncoats ahoy!

hisannabelle -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 5:25:09 PM)

llyren, which mud do you play?

i used to be addicted to the ire muds (ironrealms.com), especially achaea - i had a character for two years on there, and i think that was my longest stint of being really addicted.

Llyren -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 5:33:03 PM)

I play a mud called Threshold, but not under this name.  I've tried Achaea, but it was incredibly frustrating dealing with all the script kiddies.  I've been playing muds for a decade, and Threshold for almost as long.  I've tried a lot of them, but this one is my favourite.  It's rp enforced, but you can still go hack and slash if you're in the mood to kill things.  And the community is very cohesive.  Even when I get frustrated with things, the community brings me back in the end.  Granted, they don't know I really want to be submissive, since my character is anything but, though there are some kink-friendly people there.  I've looked at the Iron Realms muds, but nothing really appealed.

hisannabelle -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 6:07:31 PM)

awesome :) i will have to check out threshold!

Llyren -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 6:31:55 PM)

One of the things I really like about it is that you have to be 18 to play.  Which for the most part ups the maturity level.  Not always, but it means that if someone yowls about Threshold corrupting their precious widdle baby, Ari can point out that it is very clearly stated 'Adults only'.

I am into skills instead of kills. I can make potions and steal things. I can make armor, I can fletch too. I am only high in combat because I killed a lot of druids because they drop herbs for my potions[;)]. He does not play the same game I do. To be honest I have not played in months because he would rather I not.

So, a question I'd like to pose entirely for the discussion factor because... well... I'll enjoy it. *grins*

If you are a gamer geek sub/slave, does your master/dom want the loot from your kills? More importantly, does your master get the loot from your kills?

Do you kill steal from him? Does he from you? If the answer to either of these questions was yes then: Bad bad gamer! No kill stealing! No pocky for you!

And perhaps most importantly... have you ever accidentally killed your owner due to friendly fire?

These are the questions that haunt us at night.

Ok not really. I'm just being a goof.

hmm, I have played online MMORPG's for years. I started with Tanarus, moved to Everquest, tried EQ2 for a couple months, went to WoW, and am now trying out the new Vanguard.
No one who I have ever had a relationship with though has ever been into playing them [:(]

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 8:39:25 PM)

I'm just gonna say that I rarely get along with women, but especially rarely get along with gamer geek women- although I like you Aquatic, it did take me awhile to warm to you and see your other sides.

It would be difficult to say exactly why I dislike them- it's a matter of the values and personalities they tend to have, competitive yes highly romanticized natures...just seem to be a mix of traits that usually rub me completely the wrong way.

I'm all for grrl power in technology and evening the gender score in traditonally male tech/geek fields, and I certainly have my geek cred to a certain extent, but a comraderie rarely occurs.

TheSheepy -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/18/2007 10:58:55 PM)

My Master and I are both gamers. We have to have two computers, two accounts on everything, and lots of memory cards laying around. We room with other gamers. We LARP and play D & D. And his birthday and christmas presents were gifts on WoW.

No kill steal, no loot, no anything. My hard work! Unless He asks and I have no immediate need for it. Like... when He was doing his blacksmithing specialization quest and I sent all my ore, all my gems, and a LOT of gold to Him. But I got lots of nifty armor later- soo worth it.

The only time we have issues is at the VTM LARP, but that is because I am used to going to Him with my issues, and I trust Him. He is storyteller at VTM, and thus I can't go to Him with scenes or problems, I have to use the other storyteller (also a Dom, go figure). That has made me pretty much stop attending since He started being an ST. *sighs* I am going to nerd hell, fast.

What is fun about WoW is that He plays Alliance... and I play mostly Horde. Makes for some interesting PvP late at night.

Oh, and he doesn't "tank" for me- I play rangers in D&D, He plays Rogues. He plays a Pally almost exclusively on WoW, I have 20 chars, highest are Pally and Warrior. I want to get by on my abilities, not His. I have been called a "Ghoulfriend" and "Gamer girlfriend" enough to resent Him having to help me at all in those situations.

And I just fell in love with Aquatic and Valyraen, for they are gamers, too.

Wondering when His girl will stumble upon this thread...
Looking forward to Warhammer Online...
But not as much as His girl.

I don't know about all that, but I know when my ex and I were both playing WoW, I farmed gold and loot for him and helped him purchase his mount. I worked my butt off farming for him, and when we played, he always took all the loot. He felt it was my job as his sub to help him out :P

youngsubmission -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/19/2007 5:55:08 AM)

i started playing the Sega Master System...8-bit consoles rule!
i'm a huge gamer...in-fact, i'm in the process of making an FPS for a Domme =) Taking a long time, but i think the end result will be great.

subrob1967 -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/19/2007 7:20:04 AM)

All three of us play Runescape, and share everything, two of us have member accounts.

We do that a lot too! I farm hide for him when I'm out and about, hunting Banthas and the like (Galaxies for the win!). He also gets to make a profit off selling my loot on his vender. I get most of the pay, but he takes a cut. And if he needs something I've got, I give it to him. Unless it's really shiny... *hums innocently*

Heh... Valyraen is ST for a vampire table-top game we play. One of our party members is really short and really annoying. So my character started saying that she was going to punt him. Then Valyraen decided it would be funny if we actually did a scene where we had to punt him (he's got lore of flames so we could have a human fireball) and I used my girlfriend/subbly kitten points to arrange for my character to be the one to do the punting. [:D]

desertdancer -> RE: Gamer subs! (3/19/2007 10:02:04 AM)

I met Master playing online NWN.  * smiles big*  We started playing day in and day out.  He never took my kills, we were always partied.  We did however have a great group of friends that shared loot, and always made sure whoever needed an item the most got it, without any fights or pouting.  Master's character was our fighter/rogue, so he got a lotta items to keep the party going.

Sadly though, DMing ruined our game play.  We both Dmed a server together and took a great deal of play time away.  Dming also tought me a lot about people, though I still don't get why guys wanna play girl PC's... * shrugs*  Dming really took the piss out of playing for me.  I don't know if it's cause I was Dming 2 servers or what, the server'd been through a ownership change when I got it.

I haven't played online in months, though I did just play American Mcgee's Alice, which I'm in love with.  Master plays offline everyday, while I sit by his side, we have a great time, even though I'm no longer playing.

Meh... you can't like all types. *grins* Glad to know you've warmed up to me though. I respect a lot of what you have to say. Even if I don't always agree with you. [:)]

Neverwinter Nights for the win, lol. I'm sorry it burned out a bit for you. Maybe a break from it was good, or maybe it is time to just move on. But it is a fun game to pass the time.

Aquatic- If it weren't for Titan panel and Thottbot, I wouldn't have so many characters, but I love them all. Is that a Ren Faire pic?

Loot, nah unless your willing to trade at which point it is up to degotiation. Kill stealing off your Dom....hmm...I think that will entail 72 hours off the computer as pennance.
