I have a problem with when i wax my pubic hair, it always seems like i get the majority of the hairs, however the really thin fine hairs manage to not get pulled out as i believe they break before the root can be pulled out. is there anything i can do to get the resistant hairs out besides shaving them? I dislike shaving  as it causes considerably more ingrown hair.any info that can be shed in regards to this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hair removal cream? Make sure you get one made up for that particular area though....

Permanent is by electrolysis - uncomfortable, expensive and lengthy

Laser removal is quicker, but also uncomfortable, expensive and lengthy and not yet proven permanent

Hi I'm  qualified beauty therapist and have been waxing faffs lol for about ten years now.  Usually if the hairs are breaking and not pulling out its becasue you are pulling the strip up rather than back on itself.  Waxing your own bikini line can be really difficult as all the hairs dont always grow in the same direction.
This is quite hard to descibe what i mean on here.  But feel free to message me on the other side if I can help in any way with some tips?

Electrolysis is a good way to permanently remove the hairs but as it has been mentioned already it is very time consuming and can take anything upto two year sometimes more for particually strong hairs to stay away. And the bikini line is such a sensitive area.
Hair removal creams are good too but again can caus eingrowing hairs and sore skin especially in that area.
Lazer hair removal as Lady Ellen pointed out hasnt been proven yet to be permanent and I know people who had it done back in the day and spent a lot of money on it when it first came out and are now back to shaving regually.  Its also a lot more painful than electrolysis.

There are creams that you can buy to put on after waxing or electrolysis that weaken the hairs each time the start to grow back and some have quite good results especially on bikini line areas.
I am not sure if this product is still available but G.M collin used to retail a treatment called Propil that was probably the most effective I have seen to date.  They also sold a home care lotion version so it may be worth googling that?

The Seiko Cleancut electric razor is different. Since it does not cut hair below the skin, like a razor, there are far less ingrown hairs. It does not stretch the skin like waxing. Ever notice those wrinkled upper lips on some older women? Too much skin stretching from decades of waxing.

I shave, but instead of using female razors I use mens expesive ones.  They work well and I also use mens shaving foam.  I've never had such a smooth shave before.

Waxing is a great way to go.  It lasts for a good amount of time (usually several weeks or more).  Take an asprin before hand and it's relatively painless, it gets easier the more you do it and you will have a smoothness that you just can't duplicate with a razor.

i have tried waxing. i will never do it again. i would rather be beat on and i sware i am not a pain slut. No where near. Pain in any form is not my passion. I have a hard time with hair removal. I use a razor. That is a joke as well. I never have a smooth shave. I am out of options. I have used different razors, different shaving cream, different gels. Nothing seems to work. So good luck wit hthe hair removal.

I wax and, like you, have a few fine hairs left over.  I pluck them with the tweezers.  As soon as W/we can afford laser hair removal, I am sooooo there.

Sincerely,
minxy

Go to a pro, I never recommend home waxing.

And I always just assume there will be some amount of breakage and slipped hairs- as others have said, you can attack them individually with tweezers or just leave them alone and let them be.

i think i will try the cream that is supposed to inhibit growth post waxing or electrolosis. I also use tweasers, however that gets to be tiresome and hard to see the hairs as i have very find blond hair, which means the thin ones are almost impossible to see.
thanks for all hte replies, keep the ideas comeing if there are anny more.

(Yes...hire a private car wash on Sunday, late at night {if this doesn't work, contact a concrete truck driving place....they have wash bins for their trucks....rarely used on weekends}...but you have to go through at least 11 times...nekkid...and you have to walk very slowly) I dislike shaving  as it causes considerably more ingrown hair.any info that can be shed in regards to this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Have had ten sessions with the laser and electrolysis for almost eight years.  Probably over 20 electrolysis treatments total.  Still getting hair growing, though very light and not that noticable.  Getting difficult to get by electolysis because the tech has to see them to zap them.

Can you guys buy a cream over there that numbs the skin?  Over here you used to be able to buy a cream called Embler cream ( i think thats who you spell it)  and its what dr's used to use on childrens hands before giving then an injection.  I have known people use that before waxing but it did becme a prescription only thing years ago over here.

Actually - it is called Emla Cream and is a local anesthetic.  In Canada it is available over the counter at the pharmacy.

Emla is OK - I used it on many occasions (prescription only here), when I was having facial hair zapped, though the main effect seemed to be to numb my lips rather than to reduce the sting from the laser! The better, easier and cheaper alternative I found was to use icepacks to numb the skin prior to being shot at.

Glad to hear Canyoupleaseme tell the world the truth about laser too! "It doesnt hurt" I was told..... yeah, right! Whether it hurts or not depends on where the nerve endings are and how deep the hair goes, which means that in some places its nothing more than a tickle as if a fly had glanced off you, but in other places it stings like fxxk! Imagine one of those occasions when you had sunburn, and inadvertently scratched it hard........ that should give you an idea. Top lip is meant to be the worst on the face, though thats like the mentioned run in with a fly for me and just tickles me up my nose - its the jawline that hurts like hell for me.

Also to note is that if you want to use laser removal, then the darker the hairs the better - the killing effect of the laser depends on the hair taking up the released energy, so lighter hairs may not be affected at all. Using laser also means taking care about how dark the skin is too - the laser does not discriminate between dark hair and dark skin and will harm dark skin as much as it does dark hair.

Im so glad people knew what I was on about with the Emla cream lol.

Yeah LAdy Ellen Im not an advocate of the lazer hair removal.  I have spoken to may people that spent a lot of money on this "quick simple painfree hair removal method"  that hsa caused them scaring, a lot of pain and no value for money in the long run.  Though I am sure systems have developed better since I had any experience with them.

My rules when waxing myself if i have to is A   do a good scrub to the area before waxing ideally the nigght before with a body brush or scrub.
B  make sure there is no lotion or products on the area prior to waxing.
C  if waxing long hairs then either cut the down a bit or applying a bit of talc
D  apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth, then press down the strip and holding the skin very taught pull back on
its self rather than up and away.
The most important thing is to apply the wax correctly and in sections  to ensure proper application , and removing it properly after by pulling it back on itself in a quick fashion.
Also most home waxing kits are a bit iffy as you cant always get the wax to a good temperature and take a tip from my friend who learnt the hard way  Always check the temparature on your wrist before applying it.  She didnt heed my warnings and ended up with a bad burn that required treatment on her bikini line ouch !!!!

Ouchie....I don't say that often, but damn I can imagine this would be very un-fun.

I've never been burnt but I definitely second making sure to test it, I had a friend that burnt the area around her eyebrows when she was doing them at home, we still tease her about it regularly.
