Termyn8or -> RE: Turning every thread into a political debate (5/7/2007 3:59:46 PM)

Oh boy, you thought I was going to stay in the woodwork didn't you ? Politics is important. You start a thread about school shooting and expect nobody to mention gun control, that is unreasonable. You start a thread dealing with anything the government handles, it is going to get political. That is natural, I guess. I posted my chicken paprikash recipe in Off Topic. Let's hijack that. Let's talk about whether the Hungarian government supports us fucking up in Iraq. Do it. Now I do not appreciate someone being called a moron because they would rather have a political debate instead of watching Raymond. The nut case adjective actually labels the user of the term moreso than the target. But that is opinion. Possibly mis-expressed, but an opinion nonetheless, and they have every right to express an opinion. But then so do I. I have called a blonde haired, blue eyed male of German descent a nigger, something I would never call a Black person. I have called a guy who has been married twice and makes twice as much money as me a bitch. These things were based on their actions, nothing else. I had very good reasons both times, and I did it to their face and I would do it again. But what I fail to understand is how someone concerned with world events and politics is a moron or a nut case. However it is not my judgement which prevails here. What I call a person to his face after he throws a supersize drink container on the street in my neighborhood is my business. What I call a guy who lost $50,000 in an eight month marriage is my business. (guess which is which). Politics is important (or is that ARE important ?). These supposed leaders shape our lives and our futures. Do you think it is more logical to talk about Raymond ? These thing impact our lives more than many see. Political factors affect the value of a dollar, and as is apparent to all more recently, the price of gasoline. I'll not dwell on that, as said, there are plenty of threads for that. Wanna play hijack ? Here goes. When making paprikash, what we call kash, you must fry the chicken until it is deep red, and you must change the butter often. This color is one of my most favorite hair colors for a Woman. The red I am talking about is not orange, I mean RED. Deep dark RED. So what do you want to talk about ? T
