Fostering misinformation really helps their cause,
What exactly was it that Obama did to cause so much pain and unemployment, disclosures, bank greed etc??
obamaphone is really showing the tea parties fact checking fails.
Stoopid people on all sides, but to make a political ad using blatant lies really says a lot

But, who made the lie? What did that Ad state that was incorrect? The ad showed an Obama supporter, who was telling the camera why she was voting for Obama. The ad may not have been about "Obamaphones" specifically, but in showing one type of person that is going to be voting Obama in November.

And easily debunked as an "Obamaphone"

Regardless of who started the program, the whole idea of voting for Obama (or any President, for that matter) based on being given stuff, is heinous and one of the reasons why the Federal Government shouldn't be in the business of giving stuff to individuals.

And this is based upon one short clip from a woman who could very well have been coached.

You know whats interesting... she has yet to be identified.

Now, you would think with all the interest in that video, someone would step forward and tell who she was. Yet no one has.

Things that make ya go ... hmmmmm

No, this isn't being based upon one short clip from a woman who could very well have been coached. It's also based on the video of an Obama supporter who isn't going to have to worry about buying gas, paying her mortgage, etc. And, there are lots of other videos. Marcy Kaptur (Democrat Senator from Ohio) routinely touts what money she has brought back to the area in her re-election campaigns. That's just another case of voter bribery.

And, there are no party boundaries to stupid people, either, as mnottertail showed us.

What you need to do, is laugh at the ignorance, and go on about your business.

My research doesn't have to go any further than watching the video. A misinformed Obama supporter made the lie. Did you even watch the video? If you did, how much research do you need?

That is interesting. Editorial type that I am, I've been wondering if the filmmaker got her to sign a model release and, if so, whether it applies to an effort to use her image in a partisan ad that runs counter to what she seems to believe.

She did not, tellingly, say why these worries would end. She may have been hoping that Obama would usher in a better economic climate rather than expecting Uncle Sam specifically to fill her gas tank and pay her mortgage. Citing her as an example of "voter bribery" is connecting dots that aren't there in the video.

You say that as if it's some sort of extraordinary thing. Senators and representatives, from both parties, are amazingly adept at milking the federal cow for the folks back home.

You lose some of the intent when you don't include other quotes.

I stated that the OP's link showed a woman that was an example of why the Federal Government should not be in the business of giving stuff to individuals. Tazzy responded that it was being based on that video. I explained that it was not the only thing I based my assertion upon. Singling out Marcy Kaptur is easy. She represents, the Lollipop Guild...dammit, one of my boys is in the Lollipop Guild in his school's production of the Wizard of Oz... she's the representative in my District. And, she's one of the potentially screwed representatives in the gerrymandering of Ohio (her District is being connected with Dennis Kucinich's District, effectively chucking one of them out of the Legislature - pure BS, if you ask me). I will not claim R's don't do the same bullshit stuff.

Maybe not a flat-out hoax, but I honestly have wondered if a filmmaker with an agenda took advantage of someone who may not have been the most media-savvy person on Earth. It seems distinctly odd that she's screaming at a cameraman who was clearly close to her.

It's also striking that the first fact served up after etching this vivid black face into our brains is about people on food stamps. And you'd never know from this ad that blacks are less than a quarter of those on food stamps or that children are nearly half (source: Census Bureau).

That's interesting, Tazzy. I see that she hasn't been publicly identified, or had questions of her identity raised in the talking points attacking the clip, as a sign this wasn't tricky editing, coaching, or some elaborate hoax. Instead, the spinners went with deflecting it off to Reagan and Bush.

Besides, who would admit that this is their auntie?

Human nature being what it is, everyone wants their 15 seconds of fame.

My feeling is.. she wasnt from there, knew no one there, so no one could say who she was.

"I have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage."

You seemed to have missed that part. It was right before your quoted line.

It's a recommendation. Might even help lower your blood pressure (sorry.. couldn't resist).

Nope... not at all... something else a job covers.

At that time, unemployment was everyone's biggest fear. Or did you forget?

My BP is fine, according to my PCP. Perhaps you should worry more about your own.

I wonder how she's doing with her mortgage, or now that gas is about double what it was back then.

I didn't forget. But, I also didn't assume she wasn't working, as you continue to do. If you have material evidence that she was unemployed at the time, then, that's completely different.

Thanks for the concern, but ever since my last PCP retired, my blood pressure doesn't register high (and, it was only with him that it did; even the nurses in the practice got lower readings).
