MzMia,

Simply put, I carry pride in myself and thus any "S" at my side I will have pride in. Weight is a problem that just happens to people as it is just too difficult to deal with because of self indulgence.

If she is to be mine she will get herself down to weight/height proportionate through my program of expectancy and she will know in advance there will be no failure.

Wonderful post CP!
So many of us only consider "limits" as far as "play" and bedroom antics.

If we are living this lifestyle on a daily basis, nutrition, weight, health, appearance and how we
take care of ourselves, WILL enter into the equation for most people.
Many Dominants decide how their submissives/slaves will dress, why not take an active interest
in their health?
I care about the health of all that are dear to me.

My experience has been that Yes, Master can, and should assist His slave/submissive with weight loss and weight control...IF it for medical/health reasons...obesity, cholesteral, diabetes, etc....to do so simply as a matter of control serves no purpose in the long run, and CAN be dangerous if not implemented properly or sanely.
And to do so successfully gives the sub/slave pride in accomplishment, of meeting goals and desires set forth by Master, as well as improved self esteem, she will carry herself differently, with Pride while on the arm of Master that has molded her into a better person.

Okay I am taking a big risk here, and I am not trying to start
another friggin fat thread.
Thus said, I am in the process of buying a bathing suit and getting
ready for a long, hot summer and many fun times in the pool.
Of course, I want/need to lose at least 10-15 pounds to feel more comfortable
in my bathing suit.
I wonder if it would be easier, IF I was a submissive and had a Master to help,
make and exert control over what I eat.
How many Masters {men and women} are able to enforce and control their
submissives weight and influence their dietary habits?
Thank you in advance, now let me eat a few more chips and find a cold brew.

This may or may not have been said, I wanted to reply to the OP before reading all the rest, so don't kick me if I'm repeating. ;)

Personally, I in general like being around motivational people if I want to get something done. I too am looking to shed a bit of "winter laziness" for a summer look. The man I consider my mentor makes me want to improve myself without even saying it. I eat better around him, and my intake of junk food/drink is far less. I'm also more active in general when with him, which in itself motivates because of the wonderful weather in this area.

It could be a submissive thing to explore, but if that seems unappealing, perhaps just a "buddy" system for motivation, or someone to work on a goal with you would be better?

I enforce diet control, not exactly weight control. Both boys are ousy eatters. Fox barely eats vegetables when I dont make him, and Angel forgets completely to eat, or thinks M&Ms are a good enough lunch when he is bsy.  Angel, at least, has to work on keeping weight ON (horrible problem, actually, harder even than losing) and so he makes sure he eats as I have told him rather than just whatever is around.
It helps though that I am a bit of a gourmet when it comes to my cooking and shopping. I am picky, have good taste and the boys enjoy when I do the cooking and whatnot, so its easier than if I just said OK, this is how I want you to eat, now do it.

I used to work out habitually and then I suffered and injury which broke the habit.  For more then a year I've been trying to make it habitual again but haven't been able to keep myself on track for long enough.

It's been bothering me and I spoke of it with m'Lord and he set down some guidelines that he wanted me to follow.  To have the extra accountibility is helping me do what I wanted to but couldn't get over my "excuses" enough to make it happen.  But then, he's also not doing it to change my appearence, he's doing it so I'll stop beating my self up for my shortcomings.

I shall start by saying I haven't read the replies at all. My appologies but time does not allow for such luxuries.

Once a slave is collared to Bruin Cottage or even later in a personal collar to me, as master of the home therre are my responsibility. Health, Education, Happiness, Training, Leasure, and General Wellbing. Weight control is only something which comes into discussion from a medical and general health perspective. If there is no medical or health issues and a BBS is able to complete her duties, is well with no issues arising from being large then why resculpt her. I love both athletically sculptured females especially with bellies exposed down to the pubis on display when I take them out and i love Junoesque women with all the lucious curves and voluptious boobs. I am not always impressed with the bony model types though..

My job as a Master is to see that my or the Home's propewrty is well looked after, well fed, well fucked and well played with anfer being worked hard duriong the day to keep my life at the level as it should be.

I've had a couple of experiences with weight control , and while it is not my main interest, I've found it can be rewarding for both the sub and the DOM.  If it works for both parties, it is a wonderful thing.

As i am sure has been said and i respectfully repeat, weight is an issue that should be viewed from a health perspective and not an aesthetic point of view; if it is impinging on the individuals abiltiy to survive then it should be an issue. Our societies focus too much on what is view outwardly that disorders {eating, distorted body image, mental health} become coping mechanisms which is not beneficial to either the dominant or the sub. There are medical issues, as has been stated that can factor in, there can be a decrease in one's physical endurance, chemistry changes due to age, environment, genetics.

In all due respect it shouldn't have been a mystery as to what the individual looked like, is the maintainence that is required mutual, is support available from multiple resources or is the "perfect, plastic" body the focus not the gift of servitude given to both the dominant and submissive. Yes there are motivational factors that can be involved, behavioral modification, modeling {no not on a runaway...displaying the behavior needed} in addition to the the medical and mental health arenas.

Each individual's chemisty is similar to their ancestry, their families yet unique to themselves. Charts that epitomize what a person should weigh according to height and age are synymous to judging how large a man's genital parts are by how long his fingers are or how big his hand is...it is a myth perpetuated by fantasies.

This is an interesting thread to me.  One should be able to control oneself regarding intake but when one desires Dominance, it affects all areas IMHO.

To be mine, you will eat when I let you eat. You will be on your knees at my left at the table and eat what you are given. There will be no other eating. If I am away, a dish will be left for you. Forget the chips and the brew. Water is best for you, out of your dish of course.

But everyone in America WANTS to lose weight, (or do something to glorify YOUTH and not be a loser).  And it certainly isn't about standing over anyone counting their calories (that would interfere with my reading).

What is needed is a commitment to lose the weight/quit smoking etc.  I've been wanting to lose weight for years.  A couple of months ago I made the commitment to lose the weight with the full support of my Sir.  Guess how much I lost while wanting to lose vs. how much I lost while being committed to it.

The main area where my Sir is able to help are on the days when my motivation lags.  He'll order me to work out or tell me not to eat that second helping, but it's more of a service because he does know that is what we want.  When he's not here if I'm tempted by things I shouldn't be doing, I think about weigh in day and how proud he is of me when he sees that scale move in the right direction.  The need to please him patches things over when I'm weak, but my success is due to my commitment to changing my lifestyle.  We both want to see the scale move because of health reasons; eye candy status is just the icing on the cake.  Well, that, and I'm madly turned on by corsets...

General Reply:

I think dom/dommes should take an interest in their subs' bodies.  Just like you mold everything else, you can mold a body too, if both parties agree that the sub wants to or should lose weight.

I think this is especially important when the submissive is morbidly obese.  It's my opinion that it's almost the dominant's duty to take control of this aspect of the sub's life in cases where the weight is extreme.  Imagine how accomplished both parties would feel if it was a joint effort and the sub reached her goal weight for the first time in years.

I don't have any respect for doms who only 'control' the fun stuff, like when they get their cocks sucked, but are too lazy to commit to long-term goals that take real effort.   Further, I admire the ones who are willing to take an imperfect sub and help her become the best she can be, in ALL ways, rather than holding out for one who is already skinny and whatever else they're looking for.

Just my two cents

<I just love these new icons.>

for me being forced to lose weight would be very hard. I would be pretty angry. I have talked to somebody about my weight. once he found out i had been a preemie he said it is very hard to lose the weight. I have been heavy since high school.
I am sure once i lose what i can my body at some point will be ok, no further (weight loss). I have a sibling that exercises every day and watches what she eats and she can't lose any more weight. I cannot imagine that being the case cos she is very active..i think genetics plays a big role here. The woman in my family tend to be big!

Enforced.

Too much or too little is unhealthy.

Wow, so many messages.

There are so many vectors that can have an effect on a persons physical health that is nearly impossible to give a "cure-all" method to solve this issue.  But let me share some of the best advice I have recieved as part of my training in the field of motivational psychology.

First and foremost, see your doctor and have them run a blood sugar test and an endocrinology test to see if there may be any medical conditions as to why you are not in the condition you wish to be in or that could pose an issue with your attempts to reach your goal.  THIS IS KEY.

A large majority of people can be helped greatly by changing the way they look at food in general.  Any sort of eating that is done to provide comfort is unhealthy, regardless of your current physical condition.  By replacing, not removing, this habit with another healthier habit to provide yourself comfort will go a long way towards meeting your goals.

Imo, any serious undertaker in weight reduction should throw away any and all scales that they own and avoid using others as well.  A person's numerical weight will naturally fluctuate over time which can lead to over-optimism or severe chagrin.  This is especially true for women as their bodies chemistry and the tendency of the menstrual cycle to flucuate water retension.  Also, height/weight proportions do not take into account varying bone structures, density, bust size, and other myriad differences in the human body.  Instead gauge your progress in how much better you feel on a daily basis, how much more snug your body is to it's underlying structure.  Those will give you a much more realistic view of your current health and fitness.

As for diet restrictions, this is more of a lifestyle decision.  There are many different paths that will lead to where you seek to go.  In my experience, the most generally effective approach is in limiting carbohydrates and increasing protein intake.  Ideally you will want to consume more protein than carbohydrates.  This is helpfull in multiple ways, your body will consume protein for energy just as well as carbs, and the higher protein diet causes the body to retain less water.  On top of of that you will want to start replacing the foods that you eat that have negligible nutrient content with ones that have a high nutrient content.  If your body is not getting the right materials it will continue being hungry until it finally gets them, providing the materials it needs in a compact form will go a long ways towards portion control.  And lastly, water intake.  I cannot agree with the 64 oz. of water daily.  I am a healthy and fit individual with a very active lifestyle and I can barely force myself to drink even three quarters that amount of anything unless I am actively sweating out the moisture in my system.  What I have found to work the best is to replace what you normally drink with water, as much as you can stand, and to drink a few ounces of water whenever you feel hungry.  The reason for that last is that many people are unable to differentiate the feelings of mild hunger and mild thirst.  If you still feel hungry after drinking the water, then by all means eat.  Your body needs the fuel.
All in all, having a "high protein" diet that is rich in nutrients and making sure that you are not eating when what your body needs is hydration, imo, is the best way to go.

Additional notes, for various reasons an avoidance of red meat should be followed, as it has many health drawbacks, allergens, environmental concerns, as well as the beef industries deplorable lack of sanitation.  Secondly the high protien/low carb diet is ideal for those whose bodies have difficulty managing blood glucose levels.

Lastly, exercise.  This is the point where things go into aesthetics.  My personal concern is for tone, endurance, flexibility, and grace.  To this effect I advise a regimen of aquatic aerobics, some form of dance, yoga, and tai chi.  Depending on the persons starting level of fitness, they should start with the aquatic aerobics, and then start incorporating the tai chi, yoga, and dance, in that order, into their regimen as they are able to safely perform those actions without injury.  All of these exercises, excepting dance, are low impact.  They give little to no impact stresses on the joints and can be done at virtually any weight.

I hope this helps some of you, and helps others on new trains of thought.

NorthernGent, Sir,

i believe you captured the essence of factors that can effect one's well being. If i may add stress and lack of sleep can contribute to weight flucuation as well. Looking at the individual holistically (physical, emotional, behavioral, spiritual..) is key in any relationship especially where trust and respect is essential to grow, exist, to thrive. Real beauty not perceived beauty, internally and externally, that is within all of us. There is no norm. i feel sorry for those who feel that there is particular model of perfection. Perhaps it is because i prefer natural and not "synthetic".  To force someone to change their bodies for anything other than health is beyond control it is egotism at its best.
