Just out of curiosity, why are there not a lot of younger Doms in the age range of 23-30 that will actually act their age? Most of the Doms that i've talked with online seem only to be interested in one thing, and most of us knows what that is. Or they don't really know what they want out of a relationship, or they still act like their in college. Maybe i just need to broaden my search, or something. And no i'm not ratting on all 23-30 yr old Doms, just some.
   Thank you

What do you mean by not acting their age? Frankly, I don't think you should be surprised that they don't know what they want in a relationship, particularly for the younger ages. It takes time and experience to know what you want from a relationship. Not to mention a person who is 23 will probably still act like they are still in college because they just left.

I'll be turning 23 next Feb. and I will still be in college. That's only one year over. Most people graduate when they are 22 or 23, if they do the four year plan.

~amused look~

It's because very few of them are Doms.

So... does that mean I wasn't a submissive when I was 19 and 20, messing around with a bunch of guys and didn't care about a committed relationship? Is being dominant or submissive something you magically become when you stop chasing tail?

I don't think everyone just learns exactly what they want at the same age, that's why people get married, divorced, then realize they are gay.  It comes when it comes.

Some people know who and what they are from the very beginning.

Some just need experience to be the best they can be.

Some change over time.

And some decide they're Doms because REAL men don't sub and Doms must get lots of kinky sex now on your knees and suck me bitch or you're not a real slave and I've emailed dozens of women one has to fall for it soon.....

The messageboard went AWOL and ate my post.

OP:Perhaps your expectation are more of older men than 23-30?

I would like to clear a few things up for the females. And this of course dont apply  to homosexual males. Men chase tail as its put, men think about sex, men like sex, some men like sex so much they spend all their free time trying to fill it with sex. It dont matter if your 15 or 50. As men get older other things get in the way of chasing tail, mainly bills, work, the few friends you still have left, etc. but in reality, men still want the tail, if they did not they would not be interested in you.

This will never change,  this is how males are hardwired.  Just like males are hardwired on physical appearance. Any male that claims otherwise  either  is completely lying out his ass to try to impress you or  he severely need a psychological evaluation, is in a vegative state, or a coma.

It not the chase that counts, it what we do when we catch it that matters dont you think?

Younger tops still have the 'piss and vinager' in them at that age, they haven't lived enough life to have figured things out, they still want a piece of a**. In my experiecne, men inth at age range are immature, hense my preferances for men in hteir late 30s and 40s, by then they should have a level of maturity and be out of their 'stupid' phase and ready to be adults and for responsiblity.

I'm 26 and I have NEVER acted my age, when I was 23, I was [very happily] divorced and had a 3 yr old, so acting like a typical 23 year old whatever that means was NOT who I was, I acted like me; my guy friends who were 23 acted like morons and were immature.

There is a great percentage of older men who just want ass as well. They are just better at making you think they want more.

I'm younger than the parameters you mentioned, but very much not the norm.  Cutting you a break from internet fodder responses, the majority of younger men want nothing more than to fuck.  It takes an open mind with even wider eyes to realize this is not just kinky sex, but a form of love.  There is more trust, respect, and devotion in a d/s relationship than in a normal relationship.  You're talking about a demographic of guys who want fuck buddies, by in large, how are they supposed to earn the trust and respect of a submissive woman?

Not all men that age are so immature, and age does not necessarily bring maturity.  The issue here is statistical relevance.  You don't need to know WHY a man matures, just that he is.  Older men tend to be more mature.  Sadly, there's no good advice I can give you.

I can suggest that younger men with more experience MAY have a better understanding of caring for, teaching, nurturing, and training a submissive lady.  That said, they MAY have a better understanding of what eager submissives want to hear.

If you don't dig on older men, you may want to consider submitting to a dominant that isn't interested in sex.  Although it isn't how the relationship My Pet and I share works, there's a handleful of people into a sex-free BDSM world.

I wish I could offer you better advice.  Perhaps My Pet can help you.  She managed to find a Master who does not only want sex...

I agree with the theory, but age is technically not random. =P

Three out of the four I met on here were under 32 years old and the fourth was 33.
Of the three under 32...two owned their own company and one was a college professor.  All were intelligent and had their shit together.

edited to add...for every smart, mature younger dom I've spoken to or gotten to know in r/l there has been an idiotic ass of an older dom emailing me.  The majority of ridiculously stupid, rude trolling emails I've received here have been from men over the age of 40.

i have never really understood what "Act Your Age" means.  Is there a book somewhere that tells me exactly how i am supposed to "act" at any specific age?  Is age broadly defined by decade or year by year?  If someone has been in a coma for a year do they get to "act" a year younger?  What about folks who were born prematurely?  Do folks have to "act" older if for instance, they had several traumatic events?

ALL disappointment comes from other people not doing, being, or saying what one expects.

i am in no way meaning for my post to offend any Doms that are younger, i know their out there yet it's a matter of where. And i wanted to post this because i will be looking for my own Dom hopefully by the end of this year, my Dom wanted to introduce me to this lifestyle and to "test the waters". And when i get on my own, i am going to be looking for a Dom close to my age that isn't all about the sex part of it. Sure i don't having sex involved, but also a Dom who does have their life in order so to say.
And sure MadRabbit, let me know when the party is

I was always mature for my age... but  I know myself and the world around me much better now than I did when I was under 30.  Even those who have discovered bdsm at an early age, and may be in touch with their dominant or submissive sides, still are not as mature today as they will be later in life.  I don't think it's a dom thing... it's a human being thing.

At my age, I can look back and say I had a dominant personality in my teens and even controlled others then.  Still, did I really know what I wanted in a relationship or even realize what this life was all about then ?  I can truely answer no that it took me until I was in my 30's to realize what I really wanted.  I had to make some mistakes along the way to realize what went wrong and what I really want.  Are you going to be the mistake of a 23 to 30 year old, possibly but you also have the possibility of finding the right one for you and for you to both learn and grow together if you do not want someone older.  I have gotten past the sex 3 times a day desire and know I want a person for all of her, not just one part of her.
