ummm what I want to know is how someone puts a collar online anyway.... I mean if your gonna put it around the monitor ( depending on what type you have) it won't fit...and if it does that is alot of metal to be strappin around your poor monitor... and then it will obstruct your view....

Sorry... just don't get it ..you want to say your his . then simply put in y our profile your under consideration by joe blow and be done with it... wait til the time is right and get a real collar... ...... It's just words in a profile ... and you and he know you are together .... so what would be the point !!!!!!!!!! If your together your together ..

Oh man, you just have to love the condescension here. The answer is, "Yes, they do fall off. Just like real life collars fall off if you press the little button thingie and remove them." Good lord people. Granted, you can't really compare the worst of the online world to the best of the real world. But then again, an awful lot of the "real" world is not exactly "best" and believe it or not, some online things actually do have merit.

Which specific example are you basing this statement on?

I don't know of a single successful relationship that included an online collar after two weeks of chat-only, in which the Dom wanted to have input from men only. I know a lot of soap opera explosions that started out that way, though.

I don't believe in condescension either. But that's a separate issue. I'm a professional scientist, and I base analysis on data. Do you honestly believe the OP is anything other than a megaconfused loose cannon?

S'okay blushy, I took notes in class.

He started the "confused slave" thread down yonder in the sub/slave forum. That was where he asked about what he could do with the slave who belonged to another master and who also had a vanilla something or other, and and and *tries to read what's underneath the jelly stain* and something about something......

So then this young lady who is apparently wanting an online collar posted in that thread questioning his committment to wanting her, when he obviously was interested in another slave who already had a master and a vanilla something or other.

So then *I think my dog slobbered on this part*, he jumped in to say that his confused slave post was made for a friend, and it was not about him.

And somewhere in there he started a post up yonder in PolyWorld about wanting a poly household *I think I spilled coffee on this part* with one slave who is just becoming a slave and another slave who has 6 years experience.

So my tally at this point....

Keep in mind, your online collar should be made from only the finest electrons -- spend three months' virtual salary on it. Be sure not to get swindled on a collar made of positrons, those only work on robots.

It might be helpful to occasionally pour some iron filings on your computer to make sure your slave is keeping the magnetic field polished.

I do not know anybody in those channels so dont give out my name , it wouldn't help. Now a personal comment: I would suggest you kaylana to make the initial contact with admins there and explain them your wish because you communicate better.

I see many of the responses here as downplaying the value of an online collar. (Before reading the responses I didn't know what was meant by "OL")

While I agree, it usually doesn't carry the weight of a real life collar, it can still be very important.

Take My Pet and I, for example. We play World of Warcraft together

. (always ever so slightly embarrassed to admit that). In the game there is a VERY common, worthless item called the "Small Leather Collar." (you kill young cats to get them... Don't ask) My Pet is allowed to carry one. No more, no less. Nothing in the game matters to her like that collar. It can be replaced easier any other item she owns in that world, and has zero bearing in the real world.

But if I took that collar, in the video game, and destroyed it, she would cry. As most of the people reading this know a collar is a piece of matter. Leather, metal, and some other fabrics create a thing. The thing usually weighs less than 1 pound, versions of it can be found in any megamart and cost from as little as $2.99 to $5,000. (Anything more than 5,000 and it's a necklace, hunny, not a collar)

Both the video game collar and the life collar are trinkets. They mean nothing when isolated from the idea they represent.

A suggestion, if you want to give her some sort of collar, get her a day collar (in real life). I got My Pet a cat collar from the pet store to wear as a bracelet, and later a choker necklace I found fitting. I think online collars are hard to find a fitting trinket for. (RPG's are really the best I can think of, other than having her write it in profiles/signatures (as was suggested)

Be careful, though. A collar in a digital world gets tied to the same heart strings as a collar on our plane.

All of this online RPG stuff just makes me feel old and confused.

Call me old fashioned but I want a nice warm flesh and blood slave. One who's skin I can feel under my hand and one that can wash my real, live, dirty dishes.

As for the question about online house painting..........I had a vision similar to that CarFacts commercial where the cars in the driveway kept changing. Slave, many miles away, keep hitting keys and your house keeps changing colours. Delightfully freaking out the neighbours. How fun would that be????

Yep, erin, they do..... There are all sorts of chat rooms, talkers, whatever you want to call them, where people do this. It has emotional validity for those who do it, whether it's our personal practice or not. I've had some online friends do it and "invite" me to the collaring ceremony, complete with fancy emailed personal invite and everything. It was serious for them though I've seen plenty others where it was just a game. Just like in the real world, it takes all kinds.

There is no 'little button' that i can just press that will make my collar fall off.
Shortly after becoming His, my collar had to be removed temporarily. If Master had not shown up in a timely matter with the key in hand (He was there because I needed Him there, but, right then, THEY needed the key), they would have had to cut it off.
My slave bells, on the other hand - no latch to easily remove them on purpose, but they fall off of their own accord quite often! <bleh>
The OP's problem is not simply that he asked for advice on how to run an 'online only' relationship from a bunch of people who, if he had taken the time to read the boards for a while (Hence my 100 post rule...) he would have realized, these people don't put much stock in the online type of relationship.
But, no, the real problem is that he is rude and snarky when asking for advice, and yells at people who give him advice he doesn't like, and informs whole groups of people that he is not interested in what THEY have to say, becuase, did they not take the time to look and see - they have no penis! I am constantly whining and joking about how, living in the middle of the country as i do, the lifestyle can be a bit misogynistic. But, even the chauvinists i am going to go party down with later tonight, would not suggest that my opinion was totally worthless because i am a bottom player and lack a penis. It is not a good start to get off to.
I firmly believe that when you ask advice, you should take what feels right for you and leave the rest. But you can leave what you don't care for, without the snide comments. You will get on better, in the social world, in general, lifestyle or not. (And, actually, i believe you should use what feels right for you, and then, not so much leave the rest, as store it away. what does not seem a good fit right now might come in damn handy at some future point.)

As long as you are fantasing a collar - make it 24 karat gold, with a large emerald in the center, and a gold ring underneath so you can attach a 24 karat gold leash . Then maybe there could be some dangles - sapphires, emeralds and diamonds, with gold chains looped between them in a tasteful arrangement. Then you can imagine welding it onto the subs neck.

and ... and... your sub could be 6" tall, and alabaster skin with jet black hair, and double D breasts, and a rocket scientist!

oh ....   and she could be independantly wealthy.   and not have any friends or family, so she would always be available for chat on the puter.
