You guys are sick.
I don't believe in any religions. And my God is fuckin' cool! None of that "worshiping saints" crap or flying fucking carpets in space where it's -300 degreesF and there's no *oxygen so you can't breathe.*
You die you go right into a 4th dimension and get a brandnew indestructable body of your choice and you can get a hard-on on demand. Women can get wet anytime they want and none of them are frigid. And you ask one out and she always says "YES!" You go out to dinner and you *know* you're going to ed up having the best sex in eternity.
Everyone's a "10" no ugly bodies, fat bodies or  cross eyes.
You can do whatever you want whenever you want. Orgams can last for millenia if you want, who cares, you have all eternity!
And my God is the funniest comedian ever! He *tries* to make people piss themselves laughing!
Yeah, you keep up with that reading the bible/quoran shit and be miserable, I like my own religion.

I can only imagine what Jesus' reaction to suddenly being confronted with everyone worshoping his death by crucifixion would be:

Jesus: "Okay, 1) get those fucking crosses away from me, I DON'T want to be reminded of what the hell I wnet through last time to save you schmucks! and 2) You worship my death, but you pretty much ignore the meaning of everything I was trying to tell you? Fuck you, you meshuggana putzes!"

"starting this hateful and fear mongering thread."

No I think it to you to justify YOUR statement.  The video is a recitation of facts.  How can fact be hateful?

I am sure it is not the commenting on her opinion but the personal attack nature of the comment provided.

One intended, apparently, to distract from the data provided.

It's up to you to justify starting this hateful and fear mongering thread.

A person has the right to free speech, just as others have the right not to research material that they find offensive.

Mr MarsBonfire;

You obviously do not understand a great many things. This particular diatribe shows that quite clearly.

It is your prerogative to not believe in religion.  But that right does not confer upon you the ability to denigrate those that do.  Also you confuse religion with a belief in God.  One does not presuppose the other.

Because the 'facts' are incorrect or made up. (Do I have to go through this again????????)

If you wish to insist that this is hateful, probably.

You have said yourself that facts are either true or false.  That is all they can be.  If the facts are true end of story, if they are false show how they are false.

It is a lot like a gun.  A gun is not evil, or even good for that matter. It is merely a tool just like facts.  After establishing the validity of "the facts" you then have the additional task of SHOWING that there is any hate involved.

Hateful or not, that really isn't my concern.
Lies are.

You want to know how they are false, then go to the same place that (Nationmaster) which gains its statistics from the CIA World Fact book, The OECD and the UN. The statistic the video give are actually anything from 1-2 percent  off at any given time.  Some are more than 5.  They also didn't work their statistics out correctly when making the collective assumptions - which as I said were off anyway.

The claim that : “Historically, no culture has ever reversed a 1.9 fertility rate" is unfounded and isn't based on any obtainable facts.  In actuality take france for example - taking alook at it's demography, you can see that from the late 1800s until the end of the war, it never really altered.  Since then it has grown by 50% and the 'average' fertility is roughly two per pamily.  That contradicts the videos claim.  Looking back at France, most of their muslim immigrants come from Algeria, Tunisia and Turkey - all these have fertility of way less than 1.9

It claims  “In the Netherlands, 50% of all newborns are Muslim.”  The stats show there is approximately 1 million muslims there.  Which makes up 6% of the overall population.  You do the math on that.
“In only 15 years, half of the population of the Netherlands will be Muslim.”  Um... mathmatics again.  I find it hard to work out how 1 mill can overtake 15 mil.  Just check the stats.

None of the video even take into account that muslim fertility rates are falling too - some less than 1.9

The mixed up belgium with brussels.  You really want to trust a source that mixed up something like that?

Now, DuncanO'Neil - you tell me where they got their sources from?  And why they used a person who had no mathmatical skills?

First I can not agree that lies are always hateful!

Now as to the other comments.  I do not believe I saw such an analysis of the video before.  Said analysis and a bit of number crunching leads me to believe that whoever did the original data make a fatal error, one I nearly made.

That said taking the current birth rate of the Netherlands and assigning 505 of the births to members of the Muslim faith. A stat that may be hard to track in traditional data collection.  Allowing a fifteen year run we arrive at members of the Muslim faith, presuming all the children remain adherents, comprising 20% of the population of the Netherlands.  This also supposes that there is no additional changes in the population mix (read immigration and emigration).  Also this estimate is based on the gross birth rate and does not take into account the infant death rate. An accounting for that figure changes the growth to 11.9%, again with the above mentioned unknowns.

Thanks for the response.  That is one of the best starts I have had with members of the net in a long time.

It does appear that the video was created with a weak understanding of anything other than basic research techniques.  I enjoyed this part of the discussion.  Again thank you.

Duncan

Forgot something!  If the Muslim faith is in fact producing half of the live births that makes their birth rate 16 times that of the rest of the population as a whole.

And taking the "live birth" rate as a base it would take all 15 years for the muslim faith to merely double its numbers. Assuming!

I did not say that all lies were hateful.  It's all cool.

Yes, it is in assumption.  However, rates of fertility stats are falling in muslim countries as well.  Some muslim countries are less than 1.7

It does.  The problem I have with videos like this is that they tend to get shown and taken as fact and the people that it gets aimed at do not confirm the statistics.  I dislike the intention of using such statistics as a way to increase procreation.

That is not the assuming I was referring to, but the stuff i referred to with regard to previous data.

I did not see that as the intent of the video. But it could be, I guess.  I am a Catholic and stopped at replacements. Point is that such a choice is a personal one, sometimes for the wrong reasons (think "octomom"!)

I just mean that it's all based on 'assumption'.  Even with the statistics, it's guesswork.  Even the stats cannot predict future events, like wars, famine etc. (Lordy, now we are getting into prophecies)

Increase was probably the incorrect word and I should have used 'promote' as that is closer to what I meant.
