I lost mine at the tender age of 20. And the only reason that first experience qualified as 'unprotected' sex was because I  *ahem* broke the condom. (Ok, I'm not really implying that my massive manhood couldn't be contained by the puny condom....it was more likely a series of circumstances I'd rather not go into at the moment.)

And I agree with you whole-heartedly, Apocalypso (cool nick, by the way), I don't by the 'he begged me' excuse either.

As a female comedian I watched once said: "Men get ready for a date wondering if they're going to get lucky. Women already know."

What would you see as what they're trying to achieve?  I'd see "feminism" as more of an umbrella term, with various movements and goals as opposed to a single ideology.  And from my personal perspective, I'd see certain of those components as working to my benefit, as opposed to my cost.  In particular, those who want roles to be a matter of choice rather than gender.  I dislike constraints on my personal freedom, as I'm sure you know.

I don't know if I am good enough with words to explain my feelings on feminism.    The issue is that to make women equal, means that someone somewhere loses equality.  I am not a big lover of the fight for equality - it's one of those words that doesn't really do much and I am not into stepford.  If I was to be labelled anything, it would be humanist, but not secular in particular.  I do not see how feminism can ever assist any orientation.  Feminism in itself creates inequality.

But none of that is news to you.  I suspect you're one of a handful of people on here where I run a real risk of losing a game of 'prolier than thou', so I think I shall avoid playing in the first place.

Well said.

Hey hunny,

I know what you mean here and I think some veins of feminism really has created inequality, the idea that women deserve more than men really drives me nuts.

A great example actually is Kramer vrs Kramer, I was amazed at how ahead of its time that film is. The wife has been saying how the child needs its mother and mothers are more important for their upbringing, then he takes the stand. He says something along the lines of you wanted the ability to go to work and be treated equally and I completely agreed and supported you but why is it that when it comes to children the gender difference is justified.

This is one thing that I have really seen happen some women want to do it all, which rocks for them but inso doing they allow many men to do much less.

As I have said before I do not believe that sex makes someone more or less capable of something, living up to notions of gender is what causes the pressure to fit into a norm.
