I rather doubt you'll ever convince the retards that your position is valid when you address the matter in such a profound way.

Do you believe that abortion should be a form of birthcontrol?

quote:

ORIGINAL: kittinSol

Abortion is a medical procedure. Like many other medical procedures, it has its lot of detractors. Those that don't like it shouldn't have it. Those that need it should be able to access it through the normal channels, like any other medical procedure that is deemed necessary by the patient's medical practioner. Those holier than thou moralists that would like to keep abortion coverage out of a healthcare bill as if it were some kind of "luxury treatment" need to keep out of the grown-up game if they don't like its consequences, but one of the consequence, at times, is termination of pregnancy.

This country TRULY needs to get its head out of its arse when it comes to abortion, and to recognise it for what it is: a medical procedure that won't please everyone, but  that is medically necessary for those that seek it. Enough with women's wombs being hijacked by politicians trying to score cheap points with the fucking retarded segment of the electorate.

Fuck.

You lazy fat fuck...You think you paid for the health care that you are enjoying today? Fuck no. Fat, diabetic pieces of shit like you are being treated on my dime. You don't watch what you eat, you used to drink even though you apparently knew you had a predisposition for diabetes. You have definitely played a hand in your failing health. Any responsible doctor would inform you that all of that fat that you are carrying around only makes the symptoms of your diabetes more dramatic.

Hmmmmm   I don't watch what I eat?   since when   I surely don't remember when that was.

Used to drink   yeah when I was 19 I quit   when is the last time you had a drink?

I take it you think my doctors are not responsible?

quote:

ORIGINAL: domiguy

If you lose all of that fat your symptoms might be reduced dramatically. You deserve no health care because you have not done enough to potentially minimize if not remove your diabetes all together.

Playing doctor or wife?   You sit around and watch what I eat?    You have no clue do you.

quote:

ORIGINAL: domiguy

You fat, neuropathetic condescending fuck. You worked for a municipality and the govt and now you feel that you are "entitled" to health insurance benefits? Who do you think is paying for your health insurance? I don't want our tax dollars to fund the health care of the lazy and the obese.

Hey  glad you support your governmental employees past and present   Medical is one of the reasons that people go into government.  Not the only one of course.  Maybe you should write to your congressman and suggest that they stop that.

Assuming you meant the Gorean Forum I'll respond by saying no, but I was asked my Gorean opinion on the OP...

Just an FYI, I actually incorporate most all my subscribed philosophical understandings into my everyday life, it's true that this Gorean thing isn't all about slaves and kink, my beliefs even effect my opinions on healthcare.

For instance, I had assumed you are a slave in your everyday life as well, perhaps that was an incorrect assumption on my behalf, but it seemed a safe one.

But back to the OP, this has been a most productive discussion, at least for me.

quote:

ORIGINAL: slvemike4u

Did I somehow jump over to the Gorean thread?

If by your assumption that I was a slave in real life......that somehow led you to believe I come here and comport myself as such.....well shit you were just wrong.
Look I just thought given the slide to gorean speak that I might have accidently wandered into the wrong forum....I have since been advised that was not the case...so all cool and back to your regularly scheduled program.

Hello Bull,
Can you clarify this, please? Technically, any abortion is a form of birth control, so what would qualify?

I don't know why Gorean's keep trying to infiltrate Earth. We have enough problem of our own. They should go back to their own planet.

Wait a minute...you guys are from another planet?

An abortion is most definitely NOT "medically necessary" for everybody who wants one. Whether or not a woman should have the choice anyway is another matter, but that's frogshit.

I see your point Angelika, but I'm curious about the way you responded to this... What if the guy didn't mean for her to get pregnant, what if he was coerced into sex or the condom broke or her pills were "accidently" forgotten? Shouldn't a guy have a choice to have her abort? I mean she's walking around with his swimmer held hostage in her egg.

So if the Government will pay for her abortion will it not now pay his child support if she wants the baby and he doesn't?

I mean considering Moonheads position fairs, fair, right?

I do everything I can to prevent it.

I do as well. I protect myself many ways and believe in planning parenthood. Also, when I drive a car down the street, I do everything I can to prevent an accident. Reality is, accidents happen. And they happen to people who were being extra careful. We can't start judging who deserves a funded abortion and who doesn't.

What do you say of the young girl who gets slipped some GHB and winds up pregnant? Or the girl who get raped?

Or the girl who is on the pill and still gets pregnant? The condom that breaks combined with the morning after pill that doesn't work? The diaphragm that wasn't fitted properly? The woman who has an IUD and still gets pregnant?

There is no method of contraception that is full proof other than abstinence of male-female vaginal penetration. Even then... swapping fluids during mutual masturbation can lead to pregnancy.

Imagine how humiliating it would be to have to go through a triage to determine if you did everything you could to avoid getting pregnant.

That is absolutely a tricky question and I'll agree with you that there is no right answer. I think a lot of it has to do with what a man accepts to do when he finds out that there has been conception. I think that if he says that he will be there and the woman bases her decision to keep the baby in part on that, then he has committed himself.

This is going to be controversial, but it is my belief that after learning of an unplanned conception, a man should have the right to say he doesn't want a child. And if he informs the woman in time for her to make an informed decision, there should be a way for him to opt out. She then has the option of deciding to have the baby and keep it, have the baby and give it up for adoption or having an abortion. But the decision will have been informed.

I know people are going to disagree with me on that point but I won't be a hypocrite. If women have a choice, so do men. But if he says he'll be there and splits, even before the baby is born, he has child support to pay because he committed himself to this.

I must say I have never even considered such a thing...an opt out option for the man( not that personally this would hold any allure at all...walking away from responsibilties doesn't sit right with me)Tell you what LA,this idea of yours has balance ,fairness and a good deal of sense going for it.I don't think it has a chance in hell of flying...but I think I like it.
