The thing about racist Jokes is that they denegrate one race to allow another to feel better about their life. "At least I'm not a ______" is the racist formula for the end of every racist joke.

You miss the point. It is not about disharmony. It is about denigration and dehumanization, imo, to more easily feel superior to the group at the butt of the joke, as was mentioned earlier by Lady C, I think.

I think Foxworthy got away with it because he was poking fun at himself and the audience could all see a little piece of themselves or someone in their family in the jokes.
Same reason Pryor got away with a similar formula of humor in which he pointed out the foibles and humor in his own back yard.
