Janices and Submales,

Recently, a thread dealt with the subject of strap-ons and why femdoms like to use them. A few femdoms and subs felt that they were enjoyable to use simply for the sensations, but others hinted that their enjoyment was derived from a sense of power. I looked back at various discussions of the subject in the past and found that this was the most commonly cited reason why femdoms got a buzz out of using them.

Now, this had me disappointed. Not because I, as a sub, shudder at a femdom getting such a sense of power by using a strap-on on me (far from it), but because of what it seemed to imply about how they felt about their vaginas. That is, that vaginas just can't be 'powerful' as dick-like-implements can be. (And yes, I realise that some people don't recognise strap-ons as essentially 'dick-like' - that any resemblance is merely coincidental; again, strap-ons are designed that way mainly to produce certain sensations. I'm guessing - perhaps wrongly - that the majority do see them as 'dick-like'.) The dick is active - it *does* something, it penetrates; the vagina is passive - it has something done to it, it gets penetrated.

Am I wrong? Would femdoms argue, instead, that a vagina can be powerful, but just in a different way to a penis? Never mind the theory (of how we *could* feel, in a society that's unfettered by traditional gender roles), let's talk about how we actually feel, right now. Femdoms: Do you actually feel that your vagina is powerful , that it envelops/consumes (choose your active verb) a dick? Submales - have you been with a femdom who's made it very obvious by her stated feelings, and her actions, that she feels her vagina to be powerful? To both: have your feelings on this changed recently - if so, how and why?

My vagina doesn't "eat" anything, but it's just as powerful as any other body part. I'm not sure I like any other of the words you've chosen either "envelop, consume" ... I think we've had the discussion before on here, but it's been awhile. I've kind of lost track of my thought processes on the topic (I hit my head today - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

Oh, and I certainly hope you did the little digi-dance as you were typign "janice"

I did indeed do the digi-dance as I was typing that, SD. I always dance when I'm talking to femdoms on this forum. I know we've done this discussion before, but I wanted to do a 'stock-take' - I wanted to see if things had changed over the past few years. It isn't just me, it's the state of communications as they are these days: big attitudinal changes have accelerated so much during this 'internet age'.

OK, I'm not ANY of your target audiences, but in the big picture it never occurred to me to think of individual body parts as either powerful or not. I think of people as powerful.

That reminded me of a dream I had when I was a kid: of a huge octopus that I knew would swallow me, but which was strangely attractive to me. here's another side to it.
I am an avid fister--I absolutely love fisting and have fisted women for many, many years now, including a number of women who were/are Dommes. The thing is, I've got the impression from a few femdoms that though they're powerful, and feel it, they don't feel that about their vaginas. That's something I find difficult to get my head around. I was quite taken aback a while ago by a femdom friend who said, quite in passing, that she 'didn't do penetrative sex' because she couldn't relate it to her dominant feelings. (I think that was roughly how she put it.)

OK.. now THAT explains your question better and I'm as baffled as you. Gosh, now I suddenly want to get Carol a strap-on and experiment with both dominant and submissive head spaces being on the receiving end. Just based upon past experience I'd think that both would work and fit just fine at least within me.
