~FR~ Devil's advocate, here: lets make the woman a bit older, say in her 30s. let's give her a job that requires lots of travel, or is physically taxing (say, truck driving/ cab driving/ international sales/ hell, even waitressing). Let's say that the BC didn't work. She's single. Having to deal with the standard pregnancy stuff (doctor appts., morning sickness - which doesnt always happen in the morning, I've learned - not to mention fatigue, and the increasing inability to do certain activities due to teh baby belly, if nothing else), she decides it is in her best interest to terminate. Daddy is able to/wants to keep the child. AWESOME!! But is he willing to support Mom while she is unable to work? How about after she's lost her job because of her inability to perform said job? 9 months is a long time to expect an employer to to hold a position open, especially in the current market.
