The whole.....well I know who Mod XYZ is. I am going to make it obvious, and be all smoochy suck assy flirty and Mod XYZ flirts back showing that they indeed are not anonymous to everyone...... it's kinda off.

that has ALWAYS irritated me. it's that whole "oo i'm so cool cause i'm in the know" thing that people like to do. and it does make you suspect that at times there is preferential treatment.

I dont believe the thread was initially about 'noobs' getting answers to questions. But about moderation techniques etc in general

you will have been accepted and welcomed, you're female/couple I assume?

Females (I doubt) would be viewed as looking for WankFodder outright. Males, it would appear, are.

This thread is a good example of derailing being okay... we're no longer talking about the initial subject, and the discussion has been varied.
(I have to admit to being lost to a large degree, as comments and posting from 'other' threads have also been raised in here.)

as for banning:
I was... on this site.
No explanation, no reply to question... but hey, thats the nature of the beast, we are told.

pD

I have not read past this remark so have no idea whether a mod has answered you or not, but......was this banning in prior periods, because you are posting now so you are not banned?

This was recently, under another name.
But all is cool. Just thought I'd mention that it does and has happened.

Only suspect? :)

That said, I'd be willing to bet that, at least some of the time, the mods are as queasy over the fawning as some of the rest of us are.

Hold up...I flirt with the mods and I have no idea who they are.  Don't care either.  I flirt because I can and because it's fun.  If they tease back, then I get a smile and a chuckle out of it, but I don't for one minute think it earns me any special treatment.  If I step out of line, I expect I'll get a golden love letter just like anyone else.

I know from my experience on other sites that moderating is a tough and usually thankless job.  The stress can be a nightmare and burn out rate is high.  I like to think my little bit of flirtatious silliness brings a smile to the face of the mod in question and brightens her day just a little.  If someone else thinks it makes me a suck ass, they can fuck right off.  That's not why I do it.

I would think your mod's Big Red File would have "SLUT" emblazoned on it, yes ;)

Wow I must just not pay attention to that sort of thing because I haven't noticed it enough to make a difference.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to know this answer unless it is because you have a concern as to whether a moderator might possibly post as a regular user on a thread then moderate the same thread, possibly giving the perception of furthering their viewpoint, as has been alleged about past moderation.

You folks do a fair job moderating period. And you're right in saying ity's none of anyone's business if you have an identity for posts... Everyone gets a life. All I would want to know is that really your torso in your avatar picture.

photos posted here are surely still your own property, and peoples own opinions also remain their own... you don't loose rights to your own stuff just because you share it else where, the site might imply that that is the way it is , but that is just not right.
That the site might change things or forbid things or delete things is fine, but they should be upfront about it in my opinion (which remains my opinion)

I'd agree to the extent that I doubt management would use them for any other purpose than they're being used and certainly would enforce it's exclusive association with your personal account. To that extent, I agree.
