HannahLynHeather -> prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:09:31 PM)

on a thread in p&r, someone pointed out that i used to be a prostitute as an argument as to why i was wrong. he then claimed it was to demonstrate that i had no integrity.

i find this very interesting, the idea that prostitution is seen as a sign of a lack of integrity. what do you all think?
hopefully, you'll post your reasoning as well. i'm not going to argue with anybody on this thread.

p.s. please keep in mind, that while prostitution is illegal in almost all of the u.s. it isn't everywhere in the world.

Hillwilliam -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:14:23 PM)

I wish someone would explain to me the difference between a woman who gives it up for an hour for $50 and a woman who gives it up for a lifetime for a nice car and clothes and vacations.

The prostitute can't divorce you and get alimony.

I like how you limit it but I'll bite.

Hillwilliam -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:18:04 PM)

Depends on the prenup winnie.

ETA. Alimony is just the screwin ya get for the screwin ya got.

If someone needs to explain that to you..[:D]

Two differences. One is law....Second is intent. If a woman or man does it for money with the intent to benefit monetarily without regard to the human on the "receiving end"..that person has low morals and compassion. people aren't commodities to be used and discarded.

If they make it legal, I would condone it because it's lawful on the first reason only.

Class over..

I'm not diggin the skin flash but you really are pretty winnie. I like the new pic.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:25:56 PM)

My reasoning for saying there is no correlation is because there are a lot of reasons why someone may choose/have to become a prostitute.  The other reason that I am having a harder time articulating is that sexual behavior, unless it involves victimizing another person, has nothing to do with personal integrity or character.  The only victim involved in prostitution is the prostitute themselves, in many cases.  I just think a lot of people are forced into that life by circumstances, and it has nothing to do with their intelligence, character, or honesty.

Marc2b -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:26:47 PM)

I'm one of those guys who can't understand why it is illegal for a woman to sell what is perfectly legal for her to give away for free... so no, I don't see how integrity is incompatable with being a prostitute.

If you cheated your customers, that would be a lack of integrity... otherwise, I don't see a problem.

Lucylastic -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:27:30 PM)

THe wrong person was blamed for having no integrity.

LaTigresse -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:29:49 PM)

No correlation at all.Whomever said that was talking out their ass trying, and failing, to use insult to win a debate instead of a brain. Kind of like kids on the playground in elementary school.

I had you pegged some time back. No worries you're not left out because I said that to her.

And if a woman only does it for the lifestyle is that moral? At least a prostitute is straightforward about the transaction.

It does not, actually. Rather it depends on the judge hearing the case. If a judge is pissed because you get your coffee at DD and not SB he may legally toss your prenup out. Ask any divorce lawyer.

Icarys -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:32:22 PM)

Unfortunately there was no middle ground. You Hannah have none based on the way you described your hooking world.

This is nothing more than a feel good thread for Hannah.

Lucylastic -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:32:34 PM)

yeah but I got to you first, silly man not understanding the difference between being in heat heat and jellyfish mating habits...Dumbass had to backpedal a bit
SNORT Im still laughing over that one.

As the old saying goes: consider the source.

Nope the intent was pointed out before. If she chooses to marry for money she's a fraud just the same. Same for any guy who does it.

This forum is good at marginalizing rights and wrongs based on personal wants. the old.. "there are no wrongs" I don't buy subjectivity on every life issue.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: prostitution/integrity poll (8/18/2011 1:36:13 PM)

This statement bothered me.  Are you saying that the only thing women contribute in a lifetime relationship, such as a marriage, is sex?  Because that is kind of how it comes across.

I'm also laughing on the twice attempt at picking out an intentional whimsical and colorful use of a word to place your hopes of attack on.

I also am having a good poke at you 3 over that.[;)]
