How does this make sense when more people are killed by hand gun accidents then criminals... So with basic math if no hand guns then less deaths... get it.

And... how much responsibility do the children have?

Hand guns can be physically handled by small children...rifles and shot guns are at least harder to use... does that make sense to you? That is why hand guns are more dangerous and should be made illegal just as machine guns.

Butch

Both handguns AND machine guns should be available to the general, law-abiding public. Without any government tax, either.

I can't comment on your arse, but the photos of Trayvon Martin do not make him look physically imposing.
As I've said before: if Zimmerman was in fear of his life from a 160 pound beanpole, then he belonged in a knitting circle, not a neighbourhood watch scheme.

You mean the photos the family gave to the media that were taken 5 years ago? Yeah those don't look imposing. But the ones that came out later sure could on a dark night.

Don't forget, Zimmerman was a bit shorter and only slightly heavier than Martin. So Martin didn't need to be a hulk to be intimidating to him.

So in other words, not only are you doing what you accuse me of doing, you're also hiding behind your inability to say what it is you really want to say because you know the mods will spank you. Nice.

Zimmerman being shorter and heavier gives him a low centre of gravity and makes it bloody unlikely that the corpse could have put him down to be banging his head off the concrete in the first place.

I think you are starting with a conclusion, and then reasoning backwards to it. Trayvon stood 6' tall to Zimmerman's 5-9. He had the advantage in both reach and speed. Zimmerman would be virtually certain to get the worst of any situation in which he couldn't get in close enough to grapple and bring his weight to bear before having his brains rearranged. I don't have the slightest problem seeing Martin put him down.

Moonhead -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/29/2012 5:42:51 AM)

I'm just assuming he'd have had a lot worse than a couple of scratches on the back of his head if the corpse had put him down. Why is that an unreasonable assumption?

Oh. Well then I apologize. I thought you were assuming that being shorter and heavier, with a low center of gravity, it would be bloody unlikely that the corpse could have put him down in the first place.

Moonhead -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/29/2012 7:08:59 AM)

That as well. It's pretty much a given that if the corpse had put somebody a lot heavier down, then they'd have been in much worse shape. If you put somebody down, you make sure they stay down.

Zimmerman is 250 pounts..Martin was about 160 pounds...that is slightly more?

As has been pointed out several times, his past form suggests that he's a lot more likely to have initiated any violence that did take place than the scary hoody,

More likely than an athlete suspected of burglary and drug involvement? Yeah right.

Let's compare records, shall we? You all seem to like to highlight Zimmerman's run-in with the police. People also like to call him a wanna-be cop...since that was his goal. Well....there are scores of police officers who get assault charges filed on them, only to have them disappear when the facts come out. So...Zimmerman's no different.

However, a 17-year-old thug who's been found to have burglary tools at school *and* be suspended for his involvement with drugs....yeah I think he's more likely to initiate a confrontation...especially with a man who lost sight of him and was returning to his vehicle.

The so-called burgulary tool was a screw diver. Police used this to justifiy their actions, howerve the courts put a stop to it. After all I have some 7 screwdrivers, one is in my tool kit in my car, one on my belt, swiss army knife, etc.
I find it funny that the school who suspended Martin claim they found a plastic bag that was suppose to have marihuana residue, but the test failed to show anything, no arrest was made but the School suspended Martin anyway.

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/26/10872124-trayvon-martin-was-suspended-three-times-from-school?lite

Now if you will excuess me, I have a few houses to rob, where did I put my screw drivers?

Yeah, Zimmerman had a gun and was intimidated by the skittles martin was carrying, anyone would be, right ?

Are the later photos of Martin the ones shown to be of someone else with the same name ? if not, post them up.

Keep up with facts. Zimmerman was 250 when he was arrested in '05. Presently, he's not even 200.

I'm quite aware of what it was. I am also aware that a 17-year-old student has no need for a screwdriver at school. In many districts, they consider that a weapon. There have been girls expelled for having a fingernail file. A screwdriver is no different in the hands of a high school student.

I'm sure Zimmerman was more intimidated by the repeated bashing of his head into the ground.

The pics have already been posted numerous times. Reposting them won't sway you anymore than the first dozen postings have.

250 is a very outdated weight. Zimmerman actually was between 170 and 190 at the time of the shooting.

No I haven't. Nevertheless...

Opponents with a 2-4 inch advantage in reach win 58% of the time without controlling for any other factor.

Fight Matrix

Depending on the data-set, some sites give varying numbers. But reach has the advantage in all cases.

Never heard of Google? [:)]

You missed the posts about the photos being of someone else then ?

As for the claim Zimmermans head was being repeatedly smashed on the floor thats bullshit. It may or may not have happened but there is no evidence that it did. Those that keep claiming it took place have yet to post a link showing otherwise.

The fact that Zimmerman is the one standing trial rather than the corpse could well be taken as evidence that it didn't happen that way. If somebody's following you about and you can't get away from them, I suspect that if you get him down, you don't stop pounding his head off the floor until you know he won't be giving you any more aggro. If it had happened the way Zimmerman claims, he'd have been too busy having his skull fractured to get his gun out...

Actually, if it had happened the way Zimmerman claims, he'd have gotten his gun out and shot Martin before his skull got fractured...since that's what Zimmerman is claiming happened. ;)
