My crash tends to coincide with the physical intensity of the scene so the harder the climb, the harder the crash, usually around 30 mins or so after the chemicals start dropping. I love that time of 'after play' but before my feet have completely touched down to Earth again .. the part where I get to start actually feeling the pain my mind blocked out while my body was going into auto-defense mode. Don't get me wrong.. I like the climb, I like the flight.. but equally enjoyable is the parachute ride back, then the hard landing and the subsequent release - a definite perk and a reason in and of itself to indulge and engage in SM in the first place. For me, it wouldn't be as good without the crash. Once I spend the emotions in whatever manner they are spent and I have not had anything like post-session drops days later so can't speak to that sort of issue. Pure physical for me and an absolute pleasure in almost every regard.

It does seem logical to assume that gender would play a role in sub drop given the connection between hormones, pain sensitivity, mood etc. I would be more surprised if I learned gender did not play at least some sort of role in the matter.
