Seriously.....I just had a conversation with someone that thinks that dinosaurs are fake and were planted by atheists.

I've been told that all snakes are evil before.

I wouldn't be too surprised at the dino theory.

I think you need something to bang THEIR head on.

Hillwilliam -> RE: I need something to bang my head on.... (8/13/2012 9:52:47 AM)

This county is full of people who are utterly convinced that the earth is only about 6000 years old, etc, etc.

Note to OP. Dont be shocked if this one gets moved to the basement.

I think it'll be okay as long as it doesn't turn into a religion bashing fest.

Exactly. It's more about people that wear tin foil hats. Even my ultra religious friend found the theory that it's an "atheist conspiracy" to be hysterically funny.

Bummer, I really thought nobody saw me with those dinos. I'm sorry, they just took up too much room in the house and so I put them into my time machine and hid them in various places... Don't report me for littering, I honestly thought since they are organic matter, that I could get away with it.

Does anybody want to buy a T-rex btw? The feeding costs are killing me...

Or the medical section. The head-banging must cause some damage, I expect.

The Discussions I've had on this type of topic
are appalling...
People who are suppose to strive to be
humble and helpful, who actually carry
on like This!
It's more than shameful, it's a dam shame...

I'll reiterate: I think it'll be okay as long as it doesn't turn into a religion bashing fest.

Your thread was a religion-bashing fest. Which is why many people, including me, called you out on your hypocrisy.

This thread doesn't have to go in that direction, nor do you have to attempt to pull it there.

I think the real one would have been even funnier, possibly would have walked up to the guy and said "You seem to have some really good drugs, are you going to share?"

Creation Museum

The Creation Museum is a museum near Petersburg, Kentucky that presents an account of the origins of the universe, life, mankind, and man's early history according to a literal, young earth creationist perspective of the Book of Genesis. The museum has been criticized by scientific and academic communities as promoting "fallacy over fact" and attempting to advance the tenets of a particular religious view while rejecting, overlooking and misconstruing scientific knowledge. Its exhibits reject universal common descent and biological evolution, and assert that the Earth and all of its life forms were created 6,000 years ago over a six-day period. In contrast to the scientific consensus, exhibits promote young earth creationist claims, including the idea that humans and dinosaurs once coexisted, and that dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark.[1][2] Scientific evidence supports the conclusions that the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old, and that the dinosaurs became extinct 65.5 million years before human beings arose.[3]

The museum has received criticism from the scientific community, several groups of educators, Christian groups opposed to young earth creationism, and in the press.[4][5][6][7] The museum, which is said to have cost $27 million, is privately funded through donations to the apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis and opened its doors to the public on May 28, 2007.[8][9] Based on projections, the museum anticipated 250,000 paying visitors in its first year of operation.[10] According to AiG, within its first two months attendance surpassed 100,000 visitors by July 21, 2007[11] and 200,000 visitors on September 20, 2007.[12] They claim that visitor attendance exceeded first year expectations only 5 months and 5 days after opening, with a total of 250,000 visitors on November 2, 2007,[13] and the half-million visitor mark was reached just under 9 months later.[14] The one-millionth visitor was announced on April 26, 2010, just over a month away from the museum's three-year anniversary.[15]

The museum was originally marketed as the Creation Museum and Family Discovery Center.[16] It opened on May 28, 2007, as "Creation Museum". The museum is located north-northeast of Petersburg, Kentucky, roughly 12 miles (19 km) from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on 49 acres (20 ha) of land; the Answers in Genesis main offices are attached to the museum.[17][18] The facility's stated mission is to "exalt Jesus Christ as Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer", to "equip Christians to better evangelize the lost", and to "challenge visitors to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord".[19]
