ORIGINAL: Princessacandy Im curious to hear the opnions out there on Pro Domina's... Like Myself... Well, I don't know you so I can't really make comments about you. For me, I must confess that I don't like the idea of taking money for something I feel is a deep personal relationship that I spend a lot of time working on. I could never, ever take money for my Ds or SM that I do. I don't even like gifts unless there is a good reason for them. I figure the gift I get is someone who is sincere about his/her submission and desire to learn and serve me. Of the professional dominants I've known I'd had mixed impressions. Some of them were caring women who had a lot of skill and really enjoyed their profession. Others had nasty atttitudes toward clients and didn't appear to have skills beyond what I'd expect a total newbie to have. Those in the first group I liked; those in the second actually pissed me off because too often I've had folks assume that I as a dominant woman act like that second group just because of my sex, gender, and role. Even if they don't think they are part of the BDSM community what they do and how they act affect how vanillas and newbies see us. Personally I think all sex work (yes, I do consider professional domination to part of sex work even if there is no direct sexual contact) should be legal. I think trying to outlaw what is clearly a desired business that as far as I know does not damage anyone involved is ridiculous. Whether you are engaging in vanilla sex, talking on the phone, writing a story, or swinging a whip I think it is a business that needs to be acknowledged as one of the oldest businesses arrangements in human history.
