ZenrageTheKeeper is a very interesting personality, isn't he?

I think, a clue to where he is coming from is the "rage" part of his nick.

Seems to be an intelligent person, but with a deep rage against something.

I would just like to point out to this house of cards that Lincoln built, that he was forced to sign the emancipation proclamation by centrist democrats.  He was personally and professionally  a Missouri compromiser.

The much touted evolution of opinion was effected through the fact that in order to end the civil war he needed more and agreeable assistance from the leftist anti-slavery factions,  and indeed after many years of recalcitrance  and refusal, finally allowed  black people to join  union forces in other than the lowest support and supply postions, but certainly not at the measly payrate of a regular union soldier.

Where's your Messiah NOW?

Edward G. Robinson.........

I am not going to explain the sig or the last line, but there are those out there who understand the significance.

Let my people go, Moses?

He is intelligent, Kentucky, and if he or any others want to talk about how screwed up people like Mark Foley, Tom Delay, Rick Perry, or Frank Murkowski are, they are likely to find me on the same side of the page. But "all" of anything, isn't worth much.

Ron,

Ok, then don't ever use the example of Bill Clinton signing the welfare reform act either.

Politics is the art of compromise, and the possible.

Remember buddy, I am a Henry Clay guy

And I never would use an example of Bill Clinton signing welfare reform for anything, but it does beg the question how his signing it makes any conservative happier, dontcha think?

Because conservatives bear none of the responsibility for women having the vote or entering the workplace?

Noah, my man!

You are so right... conservatives can sleep comfortably knowing that they bear no shame for any of the changes that have occurred in all of history, preferring the status quo above all else. No part in civil rights, or the transformation of factory workers to homeowners or the fact that anyone in America, whose family was not here in 1775 (and certainly not the damned Irish) feels that they are full citizens.  God save the Queen!

It's more that consent vs unmentionables and other species issue - but yeah, horseflesh shouldn't be wasted on blunderbus arguments like that.

"Back to the original reason I posted to LaM in the first place ... do you not think his original comment was both facile and patronizing?"

...irrelevant, the point i was making is that you are a hypocrite......quite happy to accuse others of sins you have no trouble committing.

To me...the complete and utter moronic distillation of those many years of conservatism (not true conservatism) has evolved
into a weird creature much like Jabba the Hutt called Rush Limbaugh ..or as some people call him...Lush Bimbo.

...with all kinds of seig heiling followers like the ones in those old Leni Reifenshtal propaganda movies who..say...

Ditto

Ditto....

instead of Seig heil

LaM,

I take it he is taking about me.

Philosophy ... I think I've asked you to back up your words with examples.

You are either unwilling, or unable to do so.

Calling someone a hypocrite, especially without specific proof, or labelling an individual who isn't a public figure as such, I would consider both a personal attack (ad hominem) and a violation of CollarMe's TOS.

Your name calling has nothing to do with the discussion at hand, and is just an attempt to change the subject.

This generally occurs when someone's argument is weak or non-existent, and they don't have enough maturity to either admit it gracefully, or simply keep quiet.

Perhaps you should reconsider.

FirmKY

And to your way of thinking it was preferable to turn factory workers into homeowners rather than dead-at-an-early-age factory workers whose destitute offspring could replace them in the mill in the absence of child labor laws? Are those fucking communist sunglasses, son?

Oh and pardon my fucking language; it's a shame I'll bear to the grave if I've offended the decorous Dittoheads.
