This post may be overstepping bounds and I am going to apologize to Archer Sir for making certain assumptions about what he might have been trying to say to you Slavetrainer. My apologies for what I am assuming, if I am wrong. My assumption is that he is trying to help you out. The gentleman doesn't need me to speek for him in any way, but I felt that perhaps you missed his intent.

I read his post as a gentle but firm tap toward a better direction for you. Perhaps you should consider adding a little time to explore Leather history and tradition, it might enhance your experience and help you on your path. I'm sure that you wish to be perceived as knowledgeable in this lifestyle and for people to respect and listen to what you have to say. Knowledge is part of that path. It is MUCH harder to know where you are going, if you have no clue about where you have come from. Respecting all the hard work that came before you, all the lessons learned, respecting that BDSM didn't begin when we entered our own personal explorations is important. Our history as a sub culture is fascinating, and there is so much to be learned from the past. Being a Dominant, could be argued as perhaps a native orientation, being a Master, at least in my opinion, does indeed involve knowledge of our communities history and where we come from as a culture.

Best wishes to you,
Master Jack's,
Willow R.

I think all it really takes for someone to be called a master is for them to say “I am a master” their age or how they choose to define the title is totally irrelevant it is not a true title in any sense all they are doing is using the term to identify and define their chosen sexual/lifestyle choices. Other people respecting their decision or bitching about it is totally irrelevant really, people can be as outraged as they like that someone under the age of 237 has decided to call themselves a master and it will not make the slightest bit of difference to anyone. I personally call myself a master on my profile because I think the word helps people to instantly understand what I like and who I am. I think it is silly to try to infer that someone has taken on a self appointed title to try and attribute some sort of status to themselves or to use it in some sort of an attempt to say they have a vast amount of life experience. In this point I think it is the people who question younger people who adopt the title making themselves look silly and not the young people themselves. It is the angry people who are attributing some sort of meaning to the word and I don’t think it is wise to automatically infer that other people are using it in the same way that you are. It is just an adopted title and I don’t think the word should carry as any importance to other people unless they choose that it should.
