I'm new here and have been glancing at the submissive women in my area. Though one out of 4-5 people have HSV (and probably more among the sexually liberated or active), this people site seem to defy all odds.

Not one person here has HSV!

Or...

Not one person here is admitting it.

I wonder which it is and why it is. Guesses anyone? It's not exactly AIDS now, is it?

hello DomwithHSV
it could be just that no one puts that into their profile? i cannot answer you with assurity, that is simply a guess on my part. from what i have seen i am rare for putting my disabilities at the top of my profile, but to me it is vital that a prospective Dom know. i would hate to begin a relationship and then have to explain once emotions were involved.
i am sorry you feel alone in this, i dont think you are. as you said, the odds are against it.

be well
jenny

Greetings..~smiles~

It could also be perhaps that those with HSV aren't on the site actually looking for anything other than entertainment or make a few chat friends..inwhich case there is no need to disclose this information or that persons might just feel alittle more comfortable in waiting to disclose such until they atleast feel somewhat comfortable talking with a person but well before any such emotional attatchment insued. Maybe some feel that if another gets to know the person before the health status that maybe this will help keep the talk going after the fact if for anything insight and education into what it is like.

Then again some may just not feel the need to be honest about such things at any point in time. :/

Welcome aboard Sir

Well Wishes

Perhaps people just don't like broadcasting their personal medical issues out to complete strangers.  Since the likelihood of engaging in intimate contact with other users here is statistically microscopic, does it really matter if you know that someone you talk to online has HSV (or high blood pressure, or chronic halitosis, or athlete's foot, or whatever?)  Would it affect the way you interact with them?

So what's the point?

stef? it does effect the way i interact, even online. sometimes in mid-chat i have to go lay down. sometimes in mid-chat i lose all cognitive thinking and have to log off, so i tell people upfront. i would rather complete strangers know than have complete strangers think i am some idiotic online persona. i had to leave a Munch early because of it, and i am glad they knew why i had to up and leave instead of wondering if they had said/done something wrong.
i think a person puts in their profile things that are most important to them, therefore most important to a prospective relationship.

Where did you get that from what I wrote?
It seems that from your name and your post that it was an issue with you.
I just thought I'd mention that there are dating sites specifically for people with stds in case you didn't know.

Thank you for the welcome.

It seems such a major thing to "get over" (at least to those without HSV), I should think it would be primary in starting out. What could be more heartbreaking or frustrating than taking the time to fall for someone, agonize for days, weeks, months over how to tell them (or "if" in many cases), to be merely told...

"No thanks?"

I would think this would be the most difficult route for anyone to take.

i have browsed a lot of profiles, and some have said they've hsv. honestly i do not recall if they were male/female sub/Dom, but a few have posted it.
i DO know how hard it is, debating when to bring it up. wondering if a flash of revulsion will show in their eyes. wondering if you have suddenly become an unviable person. sigh.
that said, i still welcome you to CM.

The point is this: if you are an optimist (a club I surely place my hat in), then you must at least hope this site will bear fruition in finding that which we seek (those of us unattached). If you are serious about finding someone, and wish to be open as such relationship (or any relationship) requires, why not begin with honesty rather than develop hopes which your "secret" might immediately extinguish anyway?

Besides no one afflicted with the above need worry their malady will cause others to shun them (exept the halitosis, perhaps). Were I DomwithHighBloodPressure or DomwithTrickKnee, few would rule me out because of my handle.

I knew my name would make most here pass me by without a chance. I am not interested in them. I think there should be more here named DomLiesAboutAge or DomWayHeavier(andOlder)ThanDescribed, or even more apt:

NotReallyDomJustCruisingForEasySex.

Honestly would be nice...

Yes Jenny, you have the right idea.

I am glad I chose DomWithHSV as my name. It says nothing about me but will surely bring me in contact with those who do not choose to place HSV in their names (who I do not necessarily think shoud).

We have our own "special" needs, you and I. No need to fear or mask them. It does not reflect our souls or passions; it just proves us honest (at least in some things).

Best of luck

Aileen i think i would have taken your post the same way. especially the brevity of the post, then the 'google it'.

The impression that I got from the OP was that he was specifically searching for those that had HSV.

My apologies if I offended; I do not wish to offend anyone here. It's just I asked a question and you seemed to say "try elsewhere." That was all; no harm.

I have checked out HSV sites and they are not nearly as popular as they boast. Do a search on most of them and one will only find several profiles where there should be millions.

And btw-the sites catering to D/s relationships w/ HSV are not exactly as numerous as people wishing for D/s relationships "suffering" from HSV, I am sure.

Not sure what this means...I just got here today. No one is flocking nor do I expect a large flock coming. that's ok...I just need one to flock.
