what does it mean to mentor a slave/sub and what would be One's intentions in doing this online?

she is here to advise slaves of proper ways and to write in her journal.....

this could be construed as mentoring.

While I like the idea of having a mentor, the concept of having an online one, just baffles me. I think it is better to aquire one in person. Preferably from a local community. Of course it all depends on exactly what you want to be mentored in.

Some (many) mentors seem to use it as a way to get novice submissives (mostly women) to give them kinky attention--online or offline.

There are good people who are willing to answer questions of new people, and people who offer to tell others in their area about events and give them advice on the local community--but they don't usually fuss over calling themselves Mentors, particularly not with a capital M.

But really it's like all other relationships--it varies, and the people within it define it in a way that works for them (or doesn't work, and then they get out of it).

When I think of a mentor, I think of someone who is the same gender, and has the role that you want to be in. like a female sub mentoring another female about submission.
