Being incredulous as to the inanity of some people disguising their moral, self-righteous indignations as benevolent altruism is a perfectly understandable reaction.

Especially when disagreements normally constitute one party having a poor if not erroneous position in the argument.

For as much as you might be incredulous at people's moral and self righteous indignations, you really can't help framing your argument in the exact same way, claiming the intellectual high ground rather than the moral one.

Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against arrogance or snobbery. But only when accompanied by self-awareness.

I make no claim to be the morality police. And, here in America, the law of the land agrees with me, not you. Perhaps you are referring to the fact that in America, people of privilege can create their own bubbles and their own realities? That's true. I acknowledged that from the beginning. But if you want to maintain your own reality in your own bubble, it's important not to stretch your bubble too far because it'll run into people who not only disagree with you but can correctly point out that the law of the land disagrees with you.
