I love how now they are "beautiful people" when minutes ago they were cat puke and couldn't get their own dog to play with them.
Well, I did go hang a porkchop around my neck.

I tried that once with my dog. He went back to licking himself.

Thank goodness ;)
I can't fathom calling myself a head turner, either, but perhaps if i ever reach the OP's level of suave and attractiveness, I shall.
PS~ I'm younger than you two, also.

I enjoy that there are so many older people in the community in my area. We all benefit from the experience that they have to offer. Also, I think one of the above posters had it right when he said overweight or less attractive people probably feel more comfortable in the BDSM community than in the vanilla community, and I think that's great too. Everyone should be welcomed. That said, I am the youngest person in my lifestyle community by about ... 20yrs. There is one woman who is about my weight the rest have about 60-80lbs on me. Neither of these things is bad, what bothers me is the same thing the OP was mentioning, none of them TRY. They come to parties in dirty jeans, boots, looking like they just stepped off the ranch. In all fairness I could probably get past that if it weren't for the red-neck, old-school, country attitude and mannerisms they share which serve to make them even less appealing. Whatever, to each his own, but since Master and I hope to eventually find other people to play with (or even play nearby at the same function) it gets disheartening that there is pretty much zero attraction (physical/mental/social) to anyone in our community. I'm not going to say these people are less than us or need to change, they seem comfortable with who and what they are and how they present themselves, just saying, I somewhat understand the OP's position.

The thing is that what you seem to be speaking of is an actual compatibility issue with your local community (you are talking about attitude and mannerisms as well as appearance). The OP seems to be basing it strictly on appearance. For you it seems to be as if you've been dropped in the middle of foreign land.

The OP, on the other hand, actually seems to believe he is hot and is better than everyone else. I'm a sub to one man and I don't play with couples (I'm strictly monogamous) so even when I was at my modeling weight (around 105 at 5'7) way back when I wouldn't have given him the time of day. That would have been far more due to his sense of entitlement than his appearance.

I'm one of those big fatties. I just not happen to be in the local scene. (Reasons that are my own.)

Anyways, I do know people who are VERY active in the scene in my area, and we are in the same area. I may just show them y'all's picture. My friends that I am closest to happen to both be attractive and not obese. I am sure they would be your cup of tea, and so I want them to know what you are before they ever have a chance to play with you.

Also, because I am super nice, I am going to answer your question: Do obese/ugly/old people enter the scene to get attention, because they can't get it anywhere else?

Honestly, I think there is a chance that a small percentage of people in D/s do it because it's the only way they feel they can get attention. I am also sure those people have a range of attractiveness, from us ugly bastards to pretty barbies.

For the most part, I find it offensive that you feel that you can judge other people's sexuality and classify whether or not it's "real".

As a side effect, it attracts predators and tends to shorten the life of the individual male even as it ensures his DNA is passed to future generations.

I dare you to espouse your POV at the next munch you visit. Those 300lb subbies covered in workaday lube & shit might just show you what happens when a peacock meets a pissed off rottweiller.

You do realize that refers only to the males, don't you? The peahens are rather dull and drab...for camouflage purposes. It's similar to the male/female cardinals...only the males are that bright red.

That is a fair statement, but can you honestly say all of the people you've met that don't try are obese, or is it that you've actively picked at obese people to see if they do 'try'?
I've certainly met many, many people who are not obese and not even slightly overweight, and some of them have been the laziest bastards walking (if they can be bothered to walk, of course) but do you see me posting threads about the lazy bastard thin fuckers? No, you don't.
I can agree that I'm not overly keen on anyone who doesn't try in life, and doesn't appreciate the life they have, but to say it's only obese people who do this is a complete insult, and that is exactly what you were saying, even if you didn't mean it to sound like that.

Dude, you just essentially closed a pretty big door. This is a pretty vast community, and word spreads..lol.
Was it worth it?

Why do you say you're not shallow?
The only thing you talk about in your profile and your journal is looks.
You came in here to make a thread specifically about...looks.

If there's something (anything) else to you, I am not seeing it.

Thing is, I KNOW there are other people out there who feel the same way I do.

Then all you need to do is narrow your search and find only those thin/attractive/well-kept folks who agree with you.

Your post will tons of support and interest from those who agree with you - great plan! - the response mail is sure to come piling in now.

Ok, alright!!!!
I confess!!

I KNEW I would get the comments I got, and I also KNEW that by saying what I said in my op, that I would get the heat I got for it. It comes as no surprise. I was over the top in my critique and observation. I generalized on purpose. But I DID have a tiny point in there.

The funniest part about the whole thing, is that people have just ripped into me, personally. They have even taken shots at my fiance, who has not said a word in this.

And guess what? The vicious responses are doing EXACTLY what they are accusing ME of doing in my op. And they are too blind to see it.
It's political correctness gone nuts.

So, I have no problems with obese people. I have no problem with ugly people, as I am an ugly man myself. ;) And I DEFINITELY do not have a problem with old people, as I am an old man myself.

I wish all of you guys the best, and hope that I've made some people think a little differently than they have become accustomed to thinking.

Am I the only one who keeps wondering why the OP -considering that they're a VERY attractive couple- stole pictures of an average looking couple to use on their profile?

Funny thing is, my better half just woke up and is upset with me too!! LOL

Of course, she agrees with me, but she said I didn't have to be so harsh.

:)

Really? Does she agree that you guys went out looking and found people, who weren't you cup of tea, or does she agree with your entire broad brushed theory? I wonder?

Nobody thinks that you two can't operate based on your own standards of acceptability. You can play with the young and beautiful and no one will raise an eyebrow. Your taste is your. Just leave off the theorizing based on visiting 3 munches in central Florida. There is no way that you have a handle on who is into BDSM and why, based on your limited experience.
