The prosecution is about to rest. Many of you have been reading about the case. What do you predict the jury verdict to be in the George Zimmerman case, and what feelings do you have about it?

Status: offline 		From my readings, my feeling is that Zimmerman will be acquitted. Justice will not be served if Zimmerman walks scot-free, but I'm not 100% sure what he deserves. I am 100% sure that T. Martin, 17 years old, should not have been shot to death while walking home in his own neighborhood with skittles in his pocket.

I don't know if there are any lesser charges underneath 2nd Degree Murder (manslaughter, reckless endangerment, aggravated stalking for instance) before the jury for consideration.

Status: offline 		Despite the howling by certain parties the prosecution did build a case for the elements of 2nd degree murder. They also showed that Zimmerman lied, differing accounts of whether or not he had lost control of the gun and his interview with Hannity where he lied about knowing the states self defense and SYG laws. Juries tend to convict liars.

The defense has a real problem, if they put Zimmerman on the stand he gets cross examined which would bring in the prescription drugs, history of violence etc. etc. or stick to experts and character witnesses and hope they can convince the jury that Zimmerman's lies does not mean he lied about what happened that night. And in cases like this the jury does like to hear from the defendant.

Of course no lawyer in his right mind lets Zimmerman testify so I think its 50/50 conviction or hung jury.

Status: offline 		My gut says we are going to get either a not guilty, or a hung jury on the charges filed. If the only options are the murder conviction, or an acquittal, then justice isn't even on the table for discussion

I do believe that Zimmerman's decision to get out of the car led to the death of Martin, and that ought to be a manslaughter conviction. I think the judge can offer the jury a lesser offense than the 2nd degree murder charge when she gives the instructions.

The defense, of course, still gets the opportunity to present their case, if they feel the need to bother.

Status: offline 		If Zimmerman isn't acquitted, it will be a travesty.

Zimmerman could just have easily been parking his car to walk to HIS home when saint thug decided that he was being "followed".

The bone of contention is the physical violence/Zimmerman reasonably believing he was in danger of death or bodily injury. That's where things went tits up.

Sorry but I come from a place where just about any hour of the day or night, you're walking in front of or behind somebody. If that's cause to get a wild hair up one's ass, I seriously suggest avoiding a vacation in NYC.

Are you kidding Zimmerman should be paying the prosecution, directed verdict is in order.

He was stalking the "fucking punk," I don't believe he had murder in his heart or mind, and I think he panicked when it turned ugly, but he made choices that ended with a young man dead.

And that is a risk that Zimmerman CHOSE to take when he profiled Martin, followed him, got out of his truck to chase Martin, ignored Neighborhood Watch protocols, and ignored the NEN dispatcher. But of course there are a lot of people in today's society that feel that Zimmerman shouldn't be held responsible for the death he caused by his own willful misconduct.

And St. Skittles didn't make any wrong choices, confronting the "creepy-ass, white, kill-my-neighbors, cracker" (There are people here that would want to string a white man up by his balls, if I posted a few words, differently)? You really think there was no aggression from the little darling? (by the way, I didn't call him a "fucking punk" although I do believe he thought himself a "li'l' gangsta)
